@nathanbilly592 Nobody uses ripcords nowadays, we pull the pilot chute (thats a small chute that pulls out the main one) out of a small sleeve in the bottom of the container. if you look you'll see a little ball on the bottom right of the pack, we pull that out, quite easy regardless of speed.

@phishingword depends on the type of wingsuit. these are built for acrobatics. these with a good pilot have a glide ratio of 2.5/1. so about 2.5 feet forward for every foot they fall. others can reach up to 3/1.

You can probably allready do a tandem jump with your parents permission and they have to be present at the dropzone. I think its 16 to do the courses to get your skydiving licence. Best is to find a dropzone near you and talk to the boys there.

Fantastic choice of song! It actually got me feeling light headed, but very good. I'm not sure how to describe the feeling; it's a lot like the good 'high' feeling I get right after jumping off of heights that scare me (in parkour).

That's right. To practice wingsuit skydiving, you must have at least 200 jumps.

You must also have at least 40 jumps with an easier wingsuit called 'access" before being able to practise with the wingsuit you saw in the diaporama.

So, let's go !!

@22yann Do 200 classic skydiving jumps are really required to begin skydiving with a suit? Would you care to explain that a bit, cause it sounds somewhat ...too much! It seems to me that suit skydiving is easier than the classic one since it gives you more time in the air and more control on your fall. I am not talking about learning gliding techniques just performing the dive.

you need to be an experienced skydiver to fly wingsuits, at least 200 jumps needed by manufacturers standards and more is always better. Wingsuits require greater skill to use safely but it can be done apparently.

I'm starting my skydiving A license on Saturday (only done one tandem jump in my life, so I am still a bit nervous about conquering my fear of heights). What I really want to do though is fly wing suit, is it difficult? Is it something I can/should do directly after taking the license?

Fear of heights is irrational. Fear of falling is better. I have a fear of falling too.

You have an interesting outlook; and a rather more rational one. I had never thought of it, this way. I always joke with my friends that I am afraid of heights (actually, I feel exhilarated, and scared, being on the edge of a precipice), and that I thus try to find the fastest way down (either parachuting, or jumping, as in parkour). Come to think of it, I tend to fear being able to handle the fall, mentally (will I remain composed?) and physically.
