Be Here Now was slaughtered by the critics and rightly so as it was a terribly overindulgent album. Its been all down hill for Oasis since 96. Albums have been poorer and the gigs have become more and more stale in due course of time.

Ask the average American whether he has heard of Radiohead or Oasis, he will inevitably be more familiar with radiohead. Oasis died in 96. Should have quit while they were ahead. Radiohead will still be remembered in 50 years time.
He couldn't even be bothered to sing the last few 'live forevers' properly, he's a terrible live singer, mind you he drones through the rest of the song and many of their other songs, pity, cos some of their songs are nicely written

Live Forever is a soulful tune - having the lead singer growling and shouting his way through the tune ruins it. Same with Champagne Supernova. Growling through a psychedelic tune kills it. A lot more to the art than growling through every tune. If you want that death metal is your friend.

You're comparing Liam's vocals (primarily Live Forever and Champagne Supernova) to the Death Metal genre? Haha, jackass. Those songs are sung really well as well as the rest of their material.
Nope, I'm saying growling and roaring through songs like Live Forever and Supernova live is weird given the tunes themselves. Listen to the early live performances of this tune and his voice there. Again imho growling through a tune written to be soulful kills it and growling / roaring is more appropriate for other songs and genres, not a Britpop tune like this one. Great for Morning Glory, not great for tunes that merit a different vocal.
I think you can hear the beginning stages of Liam's vocal problems. He still sounds fine here but you can just slightly hear the vocal problems that would eventually become worse for him. The year 2000.

As far as I know, Noel gives Gem a little more leeway in playing than he gave to Bonehead. Plus, you can play the same chords in different positions -- Different guitarists have different preferences.

Nope, I'm saying growling and roaring through songs like Live Forever and Supernova live is weird given the tunes themselves. Listen to the early live performances of this tune and his voice there. Again imho growling through a tune written to be soulful kills it and growling / roaring is more appropriate for other songs and genres, not a Britpop tune like this one. Great for Morning Glory, not great for tunes that merit a different vocal.

I think you can hear the beginning stages of Liam's vocal problems. He still sounds fine here but you can just slightly hear the vocal problems that would eventually become worse for him. The year 2000.

Nah the way he sings is what does it in. If you try it, it really hurts your throat and strains the vocal chords. Noel did the exact same stuff as Liam just that Noel sings into the mic, whereas Liam goes from beneath stretching his neckup, buggering up his throat! Sorry didn't mean to give ya a lecture I just know my shit!!

As far as I know, Noel gives Gem a little more leeway in playing than he gave to Bonehead. Plus, you can play the same chords in different positions -- Different guitarists have different preferences.

because when the programme went out on bbc2 for the "Later with Jools..." show, this was cut from the showing and held back for Top of the Pops 2 which broadcast about a month or two before. Why it wasn't shown on the full show I've no idea.
