  • ian you have given life to this old calla sound, and the backing girls are real cuties!

  • I just can't get over the fact that this is Rosetta Hightower after all these years.

  • they can really sing !

  • Now thats what I call ( SWEET ) !!!

  • Rosetta does not have a daughter. She has one son, Ian.

  • I certainly know this - I never said she did, and if you look again, you'll see that was someone else on a comment. Her son is Ian Green Jr.

  • This is without a doubt my fave northern track.

I came accross this on one of your videos Ian,MANY THANKS.

  • Amazing how true to the record this sounds. Great job, Ian. The Orlons are so under-rated -- I could go for some "Them Terrible Boots" right about now. Another Overbrook High product -- along with The Dovells, Dee Dee Sharp, Solomon Burke, Will Smith, Wilt Chamberlin and Jerry Blavat. Thanks for posting this Philly classic.

  • Wow, she sounds just like she did in '62, '63. What a great vocalist!

  • The level of scholarship shown here is truly humbling! THANK YOU.

  • Another Philly classic. Thanks, m'man...

  • One day,im hoping to watch this vidio, but its so hard,as soon as the sound starts im up dancing,re-living the glory days of northern soul.Classis tune, keep the faith people. "IT`L NEVER BE OVER FOR ME"

  • Rosetta was not the original lead. At first the group featured all the girls taking turn. Their first release "I'll Be True" featured Marlena. The 2nd release "Happy Birthday Mr. 21" featured Shirley. Neither hit. The 3rd release , "Wah Watusi" featured Rosetta. The record hit and she ended up doing the leads on everything afterwards.

  • OMG! That's Rosetta!! I didn't recognize her. I'll bet that at least one of those girls is her daughter.

  • Rosetta brought the two girls with her when we shot the video, so I'm not sure who they were, just that she was the original lead singer and she said she'd bring a group for the filming, which was ten years ago.

  • An exceptional vocalist!

  • OOPs I just read all the info here About the Video-it is Rosetta. This song is just sensational-one of my all time top 5 faves!!Ian so great to have this video!!Doesnt Rosetta want to keep singing??Are there any US Orlons performing now? I know that Steve was trying to reach Rosetta last year and I think finally contacted her.

  • Rosetta Hightower?

  • Is the lead singer an Original Orlon?

  • She is "THE" original Orlon.

  • LOL - I mean no harm, but the high school The Orlons went to is Overbrook High School, not Overland. I went there too.

  • Thanks for preserving the Orlons.

  • This is one of the greatest songs of the 1960s and it should have been a hit. Thank you Ian Levine for creating and posting this video and giving recognition to The Orlons.

My website tribute to the Orlons is at: surf (dot) to (slash) orlons

  • Vintage 100 mph classic track from Rosetta Hightower et al. Great sound. Try 'Pretty Red Balloons'.

  • I like this music

  • Fabulous!

  • Another priceless classic captured on video for posterity.
