  • Not the great Pete Fountain

  • Juraj I'm packing everything I've got and going ahead to Croatia if you teach me playing in half like You ;p

  • Where did you learn to have a jazz tone? Have you ever thought of upgrading to a Crampon Buffet Clarinet? Expensive but well worth it.

  • @klutzieekatiee

Learn to have a jazz tone? By ear...;)...Yes, RC, or Tosca, or Festival would be nice...But, there's a little problem...Money :(....

  • @jl39347 A Brand new tosca is 6k. I wish it wasn't so much!

  • Very well done indeed.

  • Nice.

  • awesome!

  • Beautiful tone. Not many things I loved doing more as a younger person then putting in a Pete Fountain Cd or a Bob Draga cd and just play.

  • wish i could play just the way you are....I've been playing for only a month but this vid really make me play my cla everyday....best regards from Indonesia....not too many player here as long as I know it's only me in my home town Bekasi, I'm looking for friends to play with...

  • I've been playing for over 30 years and this is good stuff. Who needs jazz scales when you have natural talent as you do. A perfect blend.

  • Oh Pete !! this makes me so homesick !! i went to high school with Pete Fountain's daughter !!

  • are there any crystal mouthpieces for soprano sax?

  • @matinase

I think that Pomarico makes also crystal mouthpieces for any type of sax...Check at their website, i'm not quite sure......

  • Nice job!I ilke You'r way of playing!NICE!

  • @misi1979

thanks..i'm only an amateur, i don't know jazz scales or pentatonic, i just play by ear...

  • @jl39347 Sounds like me. I play by ear, hard for me to understand some rhythms, I have to listen to people, and then I can play it great. (Most of the time.) I was actually playing my music like it was jazz without realizing it when I first started playing, and my teacher had to make me break my habits. I also want to know, do you suggest the crystal mouthpiece?

  • @MissInconcdite

good for you, i don't have a teacher, but i play in a band, and in brass orchestra band in Croatia...My advice is, to try different mouthpieces, and find the one that suits you best..Crystal mouthpieces are different than baquelite, they resonate at different frequencies, and they are little harder to blow, but when you use to it, it can do wonders...;)...everything depends on stily of music you play...Pete played on a crystals whole his life...Good luck!..:)...

  • Hi

Great playing and great sound, Plz keep having fun :)

    Thx for sharing

  • good but it sounds like a sax sometimes

  • @9mrsedwardcullen

    yes.....:).......

  • nice sound and tone.

I play Selmer Recital \ Pomarico 1 crystal \ german cut, vandoren reed n3, white box (my mouthpiece table is a bit more little so I play german reed, but it is not a germnan mouthpiece.).

  • @fraCarloBen.......Yes, Pomarico's do have a tiny table, but i play ordinary reeds, french cut, Vandoren usually...Yes, Pomarico made Vandoren A1, A2 and A3 crystals for Vandoren company...I think A2 has tip opening of 1.20mm, and medium curve..Pomarico 1 was very closed for me, i tryed, but a little too stiff for my taste..Pomarico 3 has a tip opening of 1.35mm, and A3 has 1.30mm..All depends on your style and playing...

  • btw, thank's for the compliment, but i don't like my tone at all...i'm amateur, and i play in brass orchestra, and have one band, and we play oberkrain style, playing at weddings etc......but crystal mouthpieces, for me, have the best tone, although they are not easy too blow, because they have different resonant frequencies then rubber mouthpieces ...:)

  • A crystal mouthpiece with a Rico reed?!

That's like dirt wrapped in gold.

    Try VanDoren reeds. :)

  • @saturninesweetness

well....I play on Vandoren reeds, 3V12, but, at that time,I didn't have any of them, and was trying Rico Reverse...You would be suprised with quick response of this reeds...Just try different types of reeds, and mouthpiece...Experimenting is fun...:)...

  • I'm glad you're into experimenting, and it's nice to hear that the Reverse worked for you.

Personally, I've learned from experience to dislike everything under the Rico name, but that's just me.

  • cool! i like it

  • @due70 thanks, glad you like it...i like Pete and his fat, warm tone.....

  • This clarinet is a Selmer?

I play a Selmer Recital + pomarico crystal mouthpiece.

It is a bit little of normal mouthpiece so I play german cut vandoren reeds :-)

  • ....yes...old Selmer 9*...40 years old clarinet....it has some intonation problems (always sharp after warmup), but has a great, fat tone...i play on open mouthpieces, and crystal ones......Pomarico No 3 and vandoren crystal A3, with Vandoren reed 2.5, V12, or normal ones...but here i was experimenting with Rico Reserve.....:)...

  • I, i'm italian. someone tell me that vandore crystal mouthpiece are built by the italian Pomarico whit french signature.

I have a Vandoren crustal A2 too and it is very similar.

I play vandoren crystal A2 in a old "the regent" metal clarinet and Pomarico crystal 1 in Selmer Recital.
