to those katana- fans: the naginata was the samurais all purpose weapon of choice on the field. the katana is a symbol and used in duells, not in a fight on the field. even legendary swordsmen like miyamoto musashi (spelled that way? :P) accept that the naginata is the better choice when fighting - the katana is more like the emergency defence (you can't carry a polearm with you whereever you go, right?^^)

@JinRaven1 you can easily prove that by giving a friend a broomstick and take a short stick. who's gonna hit the other first? and even if you are a swordsmaster and defeat him, imagine 200 guys vs 200, the one group with long, the other with short sticks: you won't even be able to come in range before u're pierced by 2-4 lances. and here, it won't even matter anymore how good or bad you are.
I did think it was a great video, but the samurai was not so samuraish.. No katana or wakizashi and the weapon he was carrying didnt look like a naginata.. But more like a chinese weapon Guan Dao + he did fight more like a chinese than a Japanese Samurai...
ANd he doesnt even have his Katana and Wakashi (parden my spelling on the last sword) and besides instead of that naganita i wouldve prefered a No-Dachi blade.
This is good, I like the fights you do and I fully understand how difficult it is to choreograph a realistic fight scene, but your over-using the slow motion and it sort of breaks the flow of the fight. Use it sparingly and it will add greater impact to your action. :)

@JinRaven1 you can easily prove that by giving a friend a broomstick and take a short stick. who's gonna hit the other first? and even if you are a swordsmaster and defeat him, imagine 200 guys vs 200, the one group with long, the other with short sticks: you won't even be able to come in range before u're pierced by 2-4 lances. and here, it won't even matter anymore how good or bad you are.

Whoah... This was way better than I expected. Lot's of things I hate, but it was actually fun to watch and quite professional.

I did think it was a great video, but the samurai was not so samuraish.. No katana or wakizashi and the weapon he was carrying didnt look like a naginata.. But more like a chinese weapon Guan Dao + he did fight more like a chinese than a Japanese Samurai...
But great anyway...

This is good, I like the fights you do and I fully understand how difficult it is to choreograph a realistic fight scene, but your over-using the slow motion and it sort of breaks the flow of the fight. Use it sparingly and it will add greater impact to your action. :)
