I think is handy to have a 3rd row for kids, it make it more flexible. I wouldn't put adults in the back like some reviewers. But I wish the 2nd row seat slides back when the 3rd row is flat to accomodate space. Anyways is a good suv, but comparing to the pilot and highlander, which AWD is better for extreme snow, and which if the 3 gives u more gas millage?
@jvrdlc Subaru's Symmetrical AWD is far superior to anything out there, the only comparison you could make is to the more expensive quattro from Audi. The Highlander has slightly better gas milage. If you want good gas mileage in an SUV, go for the Highlander Hybrid, but be warned you may not get your upfront investment in the Hybrid over the V6 for a while.
I love this renewed Tribeca. The exterior looks great as well as the grill - stylish & streamlined. The interior looks fantastic, could not be looking better - most others just look dull in comparison. Here is one correction to the video: use the main lever and the side lever to push the 2nd row all the way back. It's funny to see how folks are trying to compare it to a non-subaru vehicle - apparently there is lack of understanding of mechanical internals and capabilities. Let it snow!
WORST SUBARU EVER MADE. UGLY AND USELESS AS HELL. If you're smart enough get the 2011 Outback, way better.
We own a B9 Tribeca, it's great, unique design, and overall a great car, but this 2011 model looks so American like, it's embarrassing to call it a Subaru. More like some Chrysler bullshit. Very disjointed in Subaru USA branch.
@Z3syst3m The B9 looked really unappealing. Just because you own the old one doesn't make this facelifted model the "WORST SUBARU EVER MADE. UGLY AND USELESS AS HELL." Remember that it's still pretty much the same vehicle with small changes.
I think they took the front styling in the wrong direction. A reworked airplane grill of the previous model would be better than this generic rectangle.
-> I'm a Subie fan (I owned an '04 WRX wagon, '06 WRX wagon, & currently an '89 GL Touring). And I'm sorry, I'd take the Ford Flex Titanium Ecoboost all day over this waste of Subaru's engineering money. I bet the JDM-market Exiga is far better than this.
there is a lot to discuss about this vehicle. From the polorizing front styling of the inital vehicle, that was redone to provide it a more mainstream look , that essentially had me yearning for the prev design, kinda like, dont know what you had till its gone. To the best interior of any subaru in their current lineup. Kind of a love hate car...

Tribeca is a mid size SUV - there is just right amount of space for this class. Need less space look for a small size SUV. Need more space - look for a full size SUV or maybe a truck or a bus ;)

@Lexolo999
Also, the Highlander does get 28 MPG, but it also improves its performance. However, the Highlander Hybrid's sticker price may shock at over $47k.

@76carmel i almost fainted when i read that price.

The third row is needed when you are in a pinch but not for everyday use.
