  • Mark St. John was the best lead guitarist Kiss ever had. R.I.P.

  • hahah Funny how the poster describes a song on Alive II as "rare" hhahahahaha

  • I'm a fan of Kiss..but y'all got to admit..Peter and Ace didn't hold up to their part of the bargain..being strung out wasn't helping the band so they had to go..

  • Think its Rick Darringer.

  • @TheAntman1265 WRONG!

  • @Godthunder15 Oh Geez maybe I`m wrong. Who gives a Sh*#*. Would rather it had been Ace anyway.

  • Bob Kulik ripps this solo!! Kick ass!!

  • Hmm.. Interesting..Sounds like a tribute to his wee wee ;)

  • Great song, One of my favorites. But...something is missing from the solo, it just doesnt fit the song, thats how you can tell its not an Ace solo. If they would've let ACE do his thing, the solo would've made this song 10 times better.

  • @01po01po Agreed. Mr. Kulick is a great guitarist (probably better than Ace), but he ain't KISS.

  • @01po01po I LOVE Ace, but I feel the lead breaks scream "not Ace" because they were so solid. I WISH it was Ace playing those but he's just a sloppier player than that generally speaking

  • I do own every KiSS album.some never played

  • Wow, that's amazing! Lots of people have claimed it's Rick Darringer but it's not. Darringer played the solo on Exciter on the Lick It Up album, I'm told.

  • Fuck you all! it was my mother who played both drums and lead guitar on this song. What does it matter it's a great song

  • One of the great classic KISS song! And yes, that's Bob Kulick on lead guitar, not Ace Frehley.

  • @lariatfx I met bob @ NAMM & he told me how he got too play on this track, ace was drunk,so Bob went in & cut the solo,as they were mixing the solo into the song,Ace sat up hearing Bob's solo & said"How did I play"? Bob replied,"Best you ever played"!!!!!!! Priceless!!!

  • And yes folks, for the record, that is Bob Kulick playing lead guitar!

  • This is the Australian band called Katz. The lead singer is Ozzy Osbourne & their biggest hit was called Beat It.

  • Peter and Bob K play on this. Gene has confirmed it for sure

  • @robzombys1 That's not Bob K on lead, it's Rick Derringer. Their styles are a bit similar, but this is way more firey than anything Bob recorded (Not taking anything away from Bob at all).

  • @jsullysix Don't piss Bob off! It's Bob for sure.He has a guitar teaching video and shows how to play this tune and states that he played on this. You can easily tell it's a Kulick because it also sounds like Bruce too

  • Why didnt all kiss recordings sound as good as this one? its great to hear the kick drum lol

  • Peter and Anton both admitted neither of them played on the 5 studio tunes.Who the hell could it be then?

  • @robzombys1 Carmine Appice and Rick Derringer?

  • i listened to this song when i was 7 or 8. my dad had it recorded on an old cassette. back then my mind fell in love with the voice, the bass, and the drum beat. later, the lyrics and the guitar made the rest! one of my favorites ever, this song rocks!

  • this is a fukin killer song!

  • @ Mr Friasjeff ,ditto that!! The first 2 album kick asteroids

  • This is a bad ass jam. Is it Peter Criss on drums? The echo effects remind me of "When the Levee Breaks".

  • @rdawg0512 Levee is my all time favorite drum beat. I never heard the connection until you pointed it out, LOL nice call

  • @rdawg0512 No it is Anton Fig from David Letterman show house band and Ace Frehly comets.

  • awesome solo

  • Damn, this song kicks ass. It's a shame that it was never played live, and it never will be.

  • @SonicThunderBYG

    why my friend?

  • @petettteee Because Gene is too stubborn to relearn old songs for newer tours. I've even heard Paul in interviews say, "Sure, we'd love to play old songs that would please the hardcore fans, but those songs aren't what people want to hear". It's sad, but true.

  • FOR MANY YEARS I'VE FOUGHT TRYING TO FIGURE OUT WHAT MY FAVORITE KISS SONG WAS..........ALIVE I & II ALWAYS WORKED FOR ME FROM BEGINNING TO END...... BUT I GOTTA SAY THIS ADD ON JUST TO FINISH UP ALIVE II SOUNDS TOTALLY BITCHIN'.......... THIS JAM HAS A STRAIGHT UP SMOOTH ASS DELIVERY AND STYLE. MY NEW FAVORITE..... KISS ROCKS!!!!!!!

  • Bob Kulick has said he played all guitars on this song! One of Kiss's heaviest...sounds like it couldve fit nicely on Creatures! Brutally loud drums!

  • Always great Bass from Gene. Too bad he's turned into such a megalomaniac old bitch in that TV reality show.

  • i bought the 8 track!! thought i would never get to here this again i love you tube!!!

  • Best Kiss song ever! Gene singing, wailing guitar throughout, Peter kickin ass on the drums! Love it!

  • You do know Gene is singing about his penis don't you!?

  • The guitar solo on Larger then life is smokin" Too bad its Rick Derringer playing the solo Not Bob Kullick or Ace Frehley either yes Bob Kullick Bruces older brother used to fill in for Ace in the studio when Ace wouldnt show up.

  • @Jaguarbassmn I read in a old Guitar World magazine that it was Bob Kulick.Go to Guitar World.com :)

  • @AnnaAnnaYes Yes Anna thanks for the correction on the Guitar players. Bob said in an interview he played on all american man and never mentioned Larger then Life and I have been told by numerous people Rick Derringer did the solo on Larger then life. Im impressed and great to see your a lady of great taste. ;-)

  • @Jaguarbassmn Thank you for the compliment.I was born in Brooklyn, hard to avoid KISS

in NYC back in the 70's

  • @Jaguarbassmn bob actually was one person that they considered for axe until Ace got the gig with KISS

  • Probably one of their best, along with Rock 'n Roll All Night. Was 10 when I first heard it, 41 now. Still kicks ass!

  • great song great album great band : ]

  • i am alec from the firebreathingbunnies and i am 9, this doesnt bring back any memories for me but this song is great

  • they should play this song more often

  • Fuck Yeah!!

  • i love all their stuff but this one kicks ass. I was a 3rd grade born again as well.

  • maybe the best song

  • What a gem!

  • Awesome Brings back memories of being a small kid and jamming Kiss in my bed room! Like 3rd grade!!! LOL awesome still love it today!
