2. Unscrew the "L" bracket on the rim of the area where the battery was.
3. For removing the RAM, pull those two levers toward you. For removing the hard drive, pull that white tab (you'll find it, hopefully). The white tab is attached to the hard drive. See? I was able to fit the instructions in a utube comment.

decently, not great, as the x31000 would be the weakest link, but it would run, but not exceptionally. however newer games like the orange box would perform much worse.
i would personally get 2gb of ram, and instead go for the pro, if your resolute you truly want a mac.
yes it is i have it....finally have a dual boot with xp and ubuntu..only problem is that i have a crappy oem-overclocked ati x1950pro...it has an anti overclock feature secretly built in...when ever it starts running 3d in an overclocked state it crashes
well...if i get to 620mhz (core) and run 3d for a few seconds...it goes black....ive tried everything...not really a problem...because im building in a few months

i meant ram.. there is 8 chips... 4 on the top and 4 on the back...4 are used for graphics and 4 are used for system..there is a total of 512mb of ram on the entire console, 2 ram chips are heatsinked without any thermal compound 2 are exposed and 4 are heatsinked using a think layer of metal (the case) with almost no thermal dissipation

I ended up getting it to work on my mac using crossover. It runs very fast and I can play online. No, Crossover is WINE. WINE is not an emulator it is an implementation of the Windows API for UNIX. Crazy, man. I've got my Black MacBook in Boot Camp and when I try to run CS:S, it freezes up before the program fully loads. I have 1GB of RAM. Perhaps the 2GB is the trick? I'd really love to get this going on my Mac.
The accelerator in the MacBook doesn't support the default dx9 environment. to run CS:S you need to type in "-dxlevel 8.0" I suggest "-dxlevel 70" It'll work with 1GB but the framerate will be crap.
I have a mac book pro and crossover and I'm having trouble installing it. I get everything installing up until disk one finishes and it asks to insert disk 2. The program is still technically using the disk so it won't let me eject disk one so that I can insert disk 2. I don't know if this happened to you, or if you know a way around it, but I would love some help so I don't have to try and return Half Life 2. Thx.

The Source engine is very forgiving when it comes to graphics cards, as it relies on the CPU more than the GPU (in comparison to other engines), so I can see that this would work. On to install on my MacBook, then :)

ONLY the 1993 one has a one click mouse, because the rest of them have a 2 click mouse.
the Mighty Mouse (from apple) is a FOUR click mouse, and the Magic Mouse (from apple) is a TWO click mouse, but with multi-touch technology.

lastly, let me state that i am by no means a "windows fan" and am currently running all three major oses, XP, OSX, and ubunto.
all have their pros and cons, ranging from compatibility, speed, and ease of use.
their is no one "perfect" os.
osx is by design biased against games, due to restrictions on the hardware.

i have a x1950 also, its easy to OC.
increase the fan speed and ramp the OC down a bit.
get it to a point where a game can run for an hour, than ramp it down a little.
better yet, don't OC, its not really worth it.

i meant ram.. there is 8 chips... 4 on the top and 4 on the back...4 are used for graphics and 4 are used for system..there is a total of 512mb of ram on the entire console, 2 ram chips are heatsinked without any thermal compound 2 are exposed and 4 are heatsinked using a think layer of metal (the case) with almost no thermal dissipation

the best part about it, i have a mac and everyone i know who owns a mac never says anything bad about PC, it's unexpressed that we know our computers are better, beautiful, and functional, compared to a PC user, who i often hear trashing macs. You claim the PC is a good machine for a good price. I never see people complain about other people buying mig macs when they're stuck on the dollar menu, unless they have a reason to feel insecure

I ended up getting it to work on my mac using crossover. It runs very fast and I can play online. And to SLICKSTERDAVE, your ignorant because you posted a comment about me (mac users) not knowing what wine is but I clearly stated that I was using crossover (wine). If you're running Crossover, it's STILL an emulator. You SHOULDN'T need an emulator. Emulating a game is the worst idea in the world. It's increases the memory access times necessary for high performance, making it less playable. Ps, distro is short for distribution - it doesn't apply to just linux. No, Crossover is WINE. WINE is not an emulator it is an implementation of the Windows API for UNIX. And while I am at it I have to say that bootcamp isn't an emulator it merely lets you dual-boot your computer. So it is running Windows natively not emulated. Crazy, man. I've got my Black MacBook in Boot Camp and when I try to run CS:S, it freezes up before the program fully loads. I have 1GB of RAM. Perhaps the 2GB is the trick? I'd really love to get this going on my Mac.

The accelerator in the MacBook doesn't support the default dx9 environment. to run CS:S you need to type in "-dxlevel 8.0" I suggest "-dxlevel 70" It'll work with 1GB but the framerate will be crap.

I have a mac book pro and crossover and I'm having trouble installing it. I get everything installing up until disk one finishes and it asks to insert disk 2. The program is still technically using the disk so it won't let me eject disk one so that I can insert disk 2. I don't know if this happened to you, or if you know a way around it, but I would love some help so I don't have to try and return Half Life 2. Thx.
