However they could have just as well took the Jim Steinman interpretation: the video has kids and Jesus on the cross as a reference to the musical it originates from. -->

I personally don't belive all members of Boyzone would have wanted to put themselves in the spotlight as supporting gay rights 10 years ago when it was more frawned upon than today. That would have given an undesirable image to each and every member of the band.

What I am trying to say is to separate interpreting the lyrics from the Boyzone MV even if they were trying to use this double meaning for gay rights in a hidden way :)

All the boyz knew that stephen was gay from the very start of the band forming,and they were all sportive of his descision to come out.i remember ronan saying that their gay fanbase had increesed and that it was great,and Keith said the same thing and joked that he should have done it years ago!
