This poor mother lost her ONLY child to some damn war, in some damn country and now our DAMN government is mincing politics over "available space"?
Doesn't it pike your interest AT ALL that our government anticipates SO MANY DEATHS OF YOUNG SOLDIERS that they can't even accommodate one or two grieving parents in the ground along side them?
"My beloved son, my hero". What kind of people would deny a grieving mother this last request? The same kind of people who think George Bush and Dick Cheney were patriotic heroes when in fact Bush was a deserter who ran off to the National Guard to escape active duty in Vietnam and Cheney got five draft deferments to escape military duty, period. Leave this poor mother alone. She sacrificed more than any veteran on this blog ever did or ever will. Signed: A Vietnam Vet.
I feel sorry for the lady or anybody that has lost a loved one in service to our country But I am a vet and she has no right to be burried next me when I pass on
I second that option as well and it also sickens me that the choice isn't left up to us the soldiers but up to some damn government official who most likely has never served a day in the service in their entire lives. This whole damn thing is wrong and just some giant publicity stunt that will probably pressure the government into saying fine go ahead let her be buried where she doesn't belong.
This whole deal disrespects every fallen soldier who gave their life in combat. Yeah there are some people who actually go to these cemeteries on veterans day and place flowers or some form of respect on the graves so yeah...walk to each gravestone ok we have a Captain from WWII, maybe a SSG from Vietnam, PFC from the Persian Gulf war and what...some guy's mom? She should have buried him in a regular cemetery if she wanted to be buried next to him.
Seriously, what is wrong with this person? She's not a veteran. If she wants to be buried with her son,dig him up and bury him in a public cemetary.I'm sorry for her loss;but this is ridiculous.
she should have asked em to not burry him at national veterans cemetery in the first place , or she should consider shifting his body now as a less popular option
As far as i see this discussion is going WAY further.
Either way i believe she deserves the rights to be buried with his son. What space is she taking if shes paying for it if she wants to be buried on top of his son?
As far as i see mother and son should be together even in death. No question about it.
As an enlisted soldier in the US Army I actually don't think she has that right. When I enlisted I was given the option to assign my body to the next of kin so in this case he had to assign it to his mother. She would have had the choice to do bury him in a regular cemetery or the VA one. Knowing the rules she did the VA and now is on a crying fit to break those rules. It disrespects the fallen soldiers to bury someone who didn't do anything in a VA cemetery period.
She should be buried with her son if she wants. She gave him life, and he gave that life for his country. What would the problem be? It would hurt no one. Freedom is sometimes about breaking rules. And that's truly American.
the holding guns and working out to the point where your body is rock hard comes at a big cost sometimes, if i joined the army i'd run away right after 5 months training
The Veterans Cemetery is for just that..veterans. I understand she misses her son, but being buried with him isn't going to change anything. When she said that he has no one there, so he's alone. It was like she was talking about him as if he were alive. Poor thing, I think after some therapy and kicking whatever habit that's making her act the way she is...She might see things more clearly.
Yes she is and rightfuly so,however her desire to burried with her son is a direct result of poor lifestyle choices that have not only effected her behavior, health and appearence but her ability to think rationaly.
If anything the death of her son has probably on exacerbated the problem.
I never said she was high during this strange interview. I am implying that she gets high,I believe she dose and I believe that it has fkd her up.
Your correct appearences cn be decieving it's that little BEHAVIOR thing that can be hard to get around.
I do think it's very noble of you to defend her,her son would say the same thing if he could, having said that I can only hope she gets the kind of emotional/prof. help she deserves in coping w/the death of her son.
There are worse tragedies I have a son in his 20s who wont give me those things because of a bad choice he made at 19.... at least you can be proud of your son and his sacrifice. Thank you Corey Shea. R.I.P.
it just a little spot in the cemetery. wtf, rules and laws can change because human makes them to serve WHO? we, the human. and its not like everybody is willing and going to getting buried in the veterans cemetery.
Her choices: go to Iraq and fight. Or move his body to another cemetary
Can't she just wait to see him in heaven?
