There was controversy over the original release date, but they did in fact put this on shelves. I bought it over 2 years ago. Check amazon, if you can't find it in stores now you can pick it up there at least :)

Sony has decided not to sell this CD "Extraordinary Machine" because they felt it did not have any "hit" songs on it. So, you cannot buy this CD anywhere. This is great music and I think Sony is doing a disservice to her fans by not releasing her album. Everyone email Sony and tell them to wisen up and release this CD into the stores.

this isn't the shelved version... this is off of the retail version released in 2005, along with some singles [not about love/o'sailor] i think there was another, but i can't remember it ... the shelved version [that has since leaked] has a version of this song called "used to love him" that's similar, but noticeably different, including the opening line "the times of boon went boom and bust, my feet of clay they've dried to dust..." both versions are good, though...

Really? That's odd, considering her previous album went triple platinum. Any label that wouldn't release a follow-up to an album with that big a following is really stupid. Radiohead have proved that you can change your sound dramatically and still keep a huge fanbase, provided you're doing something interesting and original - and this is certainly that.

I know. That's my favorite line in the song.
