Theres some sketchy ass places here. A while back i was going to a padres game walking down town and by 12th and imperial there was a wall covered in fesis...other than the homeless people san diego is a real chill place to live as long as you dont live in the Ghetto you here gunshots every night and your always getting eyeballed by wannabe gansters who think theyre so tough. I used to live in the Ghetto but moved to Spring valley/ Rancho San Diego. Its a pretty safe neighbor hood.
@SOULSILVER860247 I lived in "The Ghetto" too but you make it sound bad. There wasn't gun shots EVERY NIGHT. You're over reacting, and some of these "gangsters" are actually chill people. Don't blow anything out of proportion because reality is, it's not that bad. I moved too but I was good where I was at and my neighbor hood was a chill ass place to be in.
Why does everyone choose San Diego to drop everything and come to? I tell you, you will be very unhappy here! There is NO opportunity for you unless you have a college degree or lots of money! No foot in the door! Trust me! Go to Orange County or somewhere else instead. San Diego sucks! It's a great tourist area, and fun to visit - but take it from someone who landed here and tried to make it work for two years - you don't stand a chance!!!
@kinesis420 y sister actaully did the same thing two years ago exactly with only a grand in her pocket and it was hard at first but she really enjoys it and keeps encouraging me to come and live with her. she said its the happiest shes been in her life. i would already be there too if i didnt have to deal with court issues
@kinesis420 You just don't work hard enough. If you put your all into it, you can make a decent life here. San Diego's a good place, you just have a sucky attitude because you couldn't stand your own ground.
@hiimJS Why u judge that guy?It sounds like he had it rough and is expressing a first person view of a city many feel would be a good place to relocate. Alot of people dont realize how expensive it is, and in order to make a living you need a better job than day labor or mcdonalds. You talk like a spoiled little bitch to me who never struggled for shit.
I liked it. Went by quick but our eyes and minds capture things quickly. If a person is not familiar with downtown San Diego they might wonder if that is all, where are the scenes, what else is there. There are so many districts to downtown: Little Italy, Columbia, Marina, Centre City, East Village, Gaslamp. So many possibilities, so little time. But the video is good, no wasted time, to the point, end of story.
San Diego is the best city in the USA..I was lucky enough to have lived there in 2005-2007..had to come back to Texas..talk about deep depression..I will go back. as soon as I can..
San Diego, a truly nice city....if you can afford to live in one of the decent parts. If not, it is not so pleasant, you will have a hard time insulating yourself from the filthy aspects of this city. Downtown has some great areas, but, it also has a lot of areas filled with drugged out dirty bums crapping/urinating on the sidewalks. Neighborhoods south and east of downtown are pretty sketchy. North of town is your best bet if you only speak english.
Really?.. Why don't we swap houses for week. I live in WES-consin. Believe me after you've seen the contrast, you will appreciate what you have. Unless you enjoy tipping cows, quit sulking. Oh I am moving to San Diego, by the way, and I can't wait!
I don't know what part of San Diego you live in but it is the Best City in Amerca maybe even the World, I live in Long Beach the only thing we have here is the beach
@pirategalmakeup ive lived here all my life..ya 365 days of sun...hmmm i wouldnt say it gets old..you just get used to it...i know if i ever moved away id probally miss it like hell...i cant deal with snow...fun to visit, would never wanna live in it.
Nice video. The waterfront is one of the best areas of Downtown San Diego. So much potential, but the city has not a clue. The amount of empty buildings in the downtown area is shocking. Urine covered winos crapping on the sidewalk. Drunks openly drinking on the sidewalk, sometimes right next to city hall. The downtown post office if filthy and has bums crawling all over it. The library might as well be a homeless shelter. The Salvation Army store has from 20-40 people loitering outside.
I lived on B and 24 th back in the late 70s. I'll tell you MONEY ruined San Diego. It was quaint and dirt cheap--$115/month for a studio. I used to eat American food at this Chinese family around B'Way and 10th street for $1.85 a meal. Movies were $1 and like the Marquee said on the theater "It's first run till you've seen it".
B and 24th is in Golden Hill, one of the coolest parts of San Diego cuz it is an authentic neighborhood. You are right about the change - I was born and raised here - it used to a place for the common-person. Now, if you are not wealthy, you can't make it here. It used to be so cool. Now it's all touristy. You can't even enjoy it in the summer due to the infestation of tourists. It used to be a great place.
@particulartimeofday Average joe can make it...if willing to live in one of the many crap neighborhoods south or southeast of the city...just my opinion.
I'M MOVING THERE IN 10 DAYS...thinking i might have to stay in a shelter unless i find a job real fast. Sorry in advance to San Diego, but i gotta get outta Tennessee. Came here to see a friend and got stuck. Wow it sucks.

yeah...My vision of San Diego isn't quite like that. And I couldn't wait to get out either. I'm up in the Bay Area now, and loving it, but I miss San Diego like crazy. Can't wait to go home for a few days.
