It's funny how a lot of the comments say the drummer sucks and really he's the only one with actual talent in the group. Think about it the singer=fail and the rest of the band except for the bassist who is actually a real musician to, is just pushing freaking buttons I mean c'mon. The intro is a sample. Lots of PP's fans blow jizz over it, but it's a basic trick hip hop producers have been doing for years. Simply assign the sample to a pad (MPC, or in this case a keyboard) and cut it off with the same sample. You can hear the exact same thing on a Pete Rock or Large Professor record, and PP even copied them right down to using a soul sample.
