@brogan4toddyXx I see that a couple of others have answered your question, but where i live, its quite common, although my ponys mostly walking around freely, if needed, it is safer for them to be tied in two ropes, than in one, it´s also werry comon to double tie driving horses, becouse they got lots of equipments on them ;)

@Irishgal333 25-30 is a general average. my old riding instructer had a thoroughbred X and he lived to 36. a friend of mine rides an arab horse who is 32 and up untill last year was competing in local showjumping classes, and the stables that i am currently at is home to a 36 year old welsh mare. i think that the oldest horse redorded was a pony called "Old Billy" orsomething who was in his late 40's/early 50's.

it is called cross-tie, it makes it easier to get around the horse and keep them straight when grooming or braiding.

Very fun. I walked a friends saddlebred that was 17.3 hands many years ago. I thought I would be trampled to death. He was incredibly magnificent, but deserved every bit of respect he could get. A draft horse is such a happier companion. Give him or her a good scratch and you have a friend for life.

i have a 18hh belgium draft stallion and he is awesome. it takes me 2 and a half hours to groom him, and i have decided to geld him cause he is just to much to handle i have tried training him and i love him and want to keep him but i have to many mares. so i am gelding him sadly.
