ITS WRONG!!! Wtf? In my game the words are different! What happened to 'Must my final vows exchanged be with him and not with you? Were you only here to fight away my fears, oh speak, guide me anew'? I love that verse... Gah why's it so different!
@SuperYuuki3 That's the remake. Total balls how much they changed things in the new script - this song especially, I didn't expect them to mess around with such a classic moment.
@GuesssMyUserName That's couldn't be called as "messed around"....The US's SNES version have some mistake in words, make the line not sync with the music. The game staff only tried to get a better translation, make it closer to the JP version & synchronizing them in the remake.
GBA was great, the entire sequence is great regardless of platform, but the SNES version has its charm, and I'll never know the song by anything other than the original score.
They will, I mean they've started remaking all of their games, I wouldn't be surprised if they announce it sometime soon. This was one of the better ones, in my opinion.
I got into Final Fantasy VERY late, so FFIV DS was my first one. I loved it, but many have said VI was the best, possibly as good as Chrono Trigger (another RPG I only got into with the DS Remake).
I plan on getting a PS3 some time in the future, which will open some doors for my newly found Final Fantasy and Square love. I could just play the PS1 remake, AND I could play Chrono Cross, download FFVII, not to mention I could play XIII. A DS remake of VI would still be nice though. :)
Same here, though thankfully I only had to grind once early on. Anyway, I just love it! The battles, the music, the story, I just love it!
Right now I''m playing through VII on my PSP, I think I'm almost finished the first disc, and am enjoying the story and the world it despite the occasional mistranslation ("This guy are sick"). I actually wonder where the whole 'Cloud being a whiny bitch' thing comes from, it probably happens after Aeris dies. >_>
@aretiredsuperhero The only bad part was when you find out the "real" villain, I usually don't care for those plot twists, it's basically a cliche. But yeah it was great, and I'm planning on replaying VII on my PSP eventually, I plan on beating 8 and 9 first.
@aretiredsuperhero Yeah I don't get it either.Alot of people that call Cloud a whiny bitch just aren't deep enough to truly understand his story and background
@ss14hero ...dark and emo is not deep. Sorry kid~ there really is very little about his character other than youthful angst. You mistake having any kind of pondering emotion for depth. Everyone feels~ being evocative and having purpose to your actions outside of internalizing conflict is what makes you deep. Cloud is hollow~ which all too easily is mistaken for depth.
I hope this game is redone in 3D EVEN if on the DS or something (since I missed the whole SNES :S) seeing 4 done in this way I don't think that 6 will be so much to ask for ;)
This scene can be the best EVER if redone in 3d even if just a cut scene as a fan service, why don't we see such scenes now that they have all that money to prepare them?
A small thing I noticed with the small bit of japanese I know is that the music is some lines clearly represent the japanese translation ... looks like that lip-language problem wasn't born with voice acting :P
Now I'm a video game purist, but the FFVI advance translation was better. The opera made sense to me. And yes I have played both versions so I know what I am talking about. I just wish they could make this, at the very least, with the SNES music and the GBA synth voices.

@Morgil27 I don't know. The GBA version sounds a bit iffy and I don't like the newer lyrics

@SuperYuuki3 lol, that's the gameboy advance version (I've got them both) but yes, they changed the lyrics, as in THIS ONE is the original!

@SuperYuuki3 You played the remade version~ ugh, so awful what they did to it... but since its your first, you're stuck on sadly. Oh well~ <3

If you look the conductor never conducts a different bpm. Its all the same to him. It makes no musical sense.

Back when I played FFVI years ago, Celes singing made me laugh like crazy. Does that make me a horrible person? It probably does.
MonoAzul 2 years ago 3
lmao no the game couldn't emulate a real female voice and the atempt did sound funny.
classicblue 2 years ago
@MonoAzul Nah, if that had a real person singing it would ruin the effect!

Meh, the GBA version is much better. The Virtual "Voice" sounds much more real and the lyrics much more closely match the music.

Eh, I'd KILL for a 3D remake of it... although how they edited the script of everything in FFVI Advance was just crushing. =/
But at least the new features in FFVIA sorta made up for it! Especially the music player.
