In my opinion, this is the worse 3d DBZ fighting game. I love the music, but the fighting is just stiff feeling. It did a good job of replicating scenes from the anime, but it didn't show enough to make sense to a new comer to the series. It was a meh experience. Budokai 3 had the better gameplay but worse story telling, but at least it went into the buu saga and touched on GT.

Not that I know a lot about all the games of the DBZ series and stuff but what does it really matter which game is better. I've only played budokai tenkaichi 2 and 3 but they weren't that bad. All the games at least the main storyline of the show. Saiyan saga, Frieza saga, Android saga, Majin Buu saga at least I think.

This game was one of THE best. to me it was like a remake of the original budokai 1, the game that started it all. but with a better damage point system, and a way better health bar system. not to mention aura burst, which they totally do all the freaking time in the show. The only thing that is bad. is that every game after like budokai 3 i think, went only to cell saga. i personally adore the buu saga, but this game had bardock and brolly secret sagas. which made it all that much better.

Also, just like budokai 1, it had the MOST epic Super Saiyan 1(SS1) moment. Unlike all other games treating it like it was dirt. sure after frieza saga like everyone was getting SS, but still. The first one to go SS was goku, and he did it in an epic way, where he did all the needed grunts, and screams, straining himself til he finally reached the form, like he should have. like he really did.

Unlike the rush attacks on Tenkaichi 3 were all you have to do is press a button and you can just spam like crazy from whatever distance you want.
