  • The people from estonia are a great example for freedom loving people all over the world.

I really hope that Estonia will stay free and uses its freedom for the good of mankind.

  • Im frankly dissapointed in Estonian goverment right now..

for particapating in the Afghanistan annexation and Iraq too.

  • Is this movie about singing revolution only in Estonia? Or someone remembered to mention all the Baltic states? I am latvian and I remember those events very well and even hearing estonian songs made me cry :) And I will never forget that feeling to be the tiny part of Baltic way :) we all felt so united back then :) Elagu esti!!!

  • why dont you try watching it??

  • It's mainly about Estonia since the Singing Revolution took place in Estonia (300 000 people came to the Estonian capital to sing through nights.)

  • i think there are very few estonians who can watch this film without getting a little teary. a very few indeed.

  • @lammas only thous who are not realy estonians!

  • @lammas i don't have a drop of estonian blood in me, and i think i'll get teary-eyed watching this.

  • @lammas i am an american and i got teary! very inspiring!

  • This revolution was about hope. The next will be about revenge.

  • I remember those events. Tell you the truth, this trailer brought a tear to my eye. But...

On one hand, those events were just as uplifting as depicted, and make me proud to be an Estonian.

On the other hand, it's sad to see the the Singing Revolution twisted, corrupted and used by today's politics.

There's a lot of malice among the comments here. Nazi/Commie accusations going back and forth. There was NO such hatred back then. Nobody went to those events to hate anybody, absolutely noone.

  • Well said, we should all check our assumptions. In the case of these strings (all singorevo), we should expect that some extreme views expressed here have been systematically coloured/entrenched by years of distorted and false propaganda (yes propaganda) motivated by the only thing I can think of ....fear. So the 64,000 question is....why is the Russian Federation so distrustful and fearful. Not inferiority....but what else.....any takers?

  • I welcome more comments from comradami88...he demonstrates the worrying dispostion and true face of the "new russia"......

    post more!

  • Well, Commie - you certainly didn't get your education about the Soviet and Estonian matters in the U.S. Don't try to hide behind "we in the USA"! We all know what your true colors are!!! I never thought I'd wish this on anyone but I sure hope that YOU are on Bush's watch list for SPREADING COMMUNIST PROPAGANDA!!!

  • MORE FACTS FOR COMMIE (5): More than 200,000 people are estimated to have been deported from the Baltic in 1940-1953. In addition, at least 75,000 were sent to Gulag. 10 percent of the entire adult Baltic population was deported or sent to labor camps.

  • For my it is insolent that some people think that soviets are angels. The comrades are out of phase. To justify the performances of Stalin, the slaughters of Russians, Polishs in Katinb is a madness in a world that wishes peace.

If empires want destroy they can do it fighting themself.

Of course Russians in Estonia are Estonians.

Long life to Estonia and his autodetermination.

Neither Yankees , Nazis nor Russians.

    Boris Pichardo

    Republica Dominicana.

  • They can't be Estonians if they live here and don't even bother learning the official language. Instead they go on the street and yell rossia and don't admit the crimes their forefathers did to this small nation.

  • MORE FACTS FOR COMMIE (4): Out the approximately 4,300 Jews (in Estonia)prior to the war, between 1,500 and 2,000 were entrapped by the Nazis. Many of Jewish people were deported to Siberia along with other Estonians BY THE SOVIETS.

  • MORE FACTS FOR COMMIE (3): The United States, United Kingdom and the majority of other western democracies considered the annexation of Estonia by USSR illegal. They retained diplomatic relations with the representatives of the independent Republic of Estonia, never recognized the existence of the Estonian SSR de jure, and never recognized Estonia as a legal constituent part of the Soviet Union.

  • MORE FACTS FOR COMMIE (2): the country was occupied by Nazi Germany from 1941 to 1944. Although initially the Germans were perceived as liberators from the USSR and its repressions by most Estonians, who hoped for the restoration of the country's independence, it was soon realized that they were but another occupying power.

  • FACTS TO EDUCATE COMMIE (PART 1):

From CIA The World Fact Book (available on the Internet): (Estonia) Forcibly incorporated into the USSR in 1940 - an action never recognized by the US - it regained its freedom in 1991, with the collapse of the Soviet Union. Since the last Russian troops left in 1994, Estonia has been free to promote economic and political ties with Western Europe. It joined both NATO and the EU in the spring of 2004.

  • Comrad: you sound like a broken record (yawn). Estonia never invaded Russia or Germany. It's a tiny country (population: 1 million at the time. Now 1.3 million.) that was caught between the Nazis and the Soviets. Estonian soldiers were forced to fight on both sides or executed. Simple as that.

  • Anyone who wonders if even 10% of the "facts" provided by Comrade (sic! do notice the name he has chosen to use!) could be true, should really watch this movie (made by Americans, not Estonians) and then make up your own mind.

  • wtf?:D

  • seenemehike mida sa jahud?
