I think a new Indiana Jones movie would be good, but I was kinda turned off by the last movie. It seemed like a good movie up until the whole alien thing, then it just didnt seem realistic anymore. They need to get back to making Indiana Jones going after mythical treasure and not running after aliens. Maybe they could do something with Atlantis? Or something with the ancient Egyptians? Or maybe even looking for the Garden of Eden or the Fountain of Youth?
@adamstakeonlife Actually I did like the fourth movie quite a bit because it was fun to see Indiana Jones older, more cranky. The only thing is I like the Indy films to be more grounded in the biblical mythos. Harrison Ford shows that he is still in good shape for these type of action films.
All four Indiana Jones were a great box office success, so Indiana Jones 5 deserves to be made. I enjoyed all four of these movies and I wish this 5th installment the best of luck on the box office competition, so part 6 could be made.
I'm an Indy fan. I liked Crystal Skull better than some, but I think it might be time to hang up the fedora. If you could take Indy out of George Lucas's hands you might have something but that won't happen. I'm looking forward to Sherlock Holmes 2 instead.
I just really love the older films because I grew up with them--my dad was a major fan and we have all of them on VHS--but I really loved the fourth movie with Shia in it. I just really liked it, it had a better feel to it, more believable and less creepy, but more surreal and creepier in a different way, I guess. All I know is that I really liked it. :)
A Mutt Williams spin off would be a disaster! Shia doesn't sound or look anything like Harrison Ford. He just does not have Ford's charisma. I hope Lucas or Spielberg won't have Shia in the fifth film. But that's just my opinion.
The last instalment really ruined it for me. I can forgive a lot of things but this was bad from the get go. When Monkey boy was scripted to do the stupid Tarzan thing I walked out feeling totally let down. even my kids thought it was lame.
As I say I can chalk a lot of things up to fun, The fridge, the dropped plot moments, the soppy family reunion but that Tarzan scene was a steaming pile of shit with hot cheese poured on it. WAY TO GO get some decent scriptwriters next time.
during the movie mutt should try to save indy in a motorcycle and car chase and mutt should crash into a car and a man in a new york yankees hat should jump out
really, i was hoping for short round back. he is so funny and reckless! he is better than mutt. he is very brave, take on goup of bad men by kick their balls. mutt fight them with fencing style sword.
Seriously, if Indiana Jones part 5 is going to happen, do it right. Stay true to the mythology of the other GOOD movies. Leave science fiction out of it. Don't include Shia Le Beuf. Use more practical effects so it feels like it's part of the same franchise. Don't film all the action on sets, so the film doesn't feel so claustrophobic. Anything really silly like the monkey swinging stuff - leave out. Indiana Jones is a legend, give him the respect he deserves.
i actually liked the last.. the acting wasnt the best but it was still fun. the aliens didnt bother me at all. i wonder where it'll be now?? theyve done forest, desert, catacombs..
Thumbs up if you think Indy should've left Short Round and the Blondie to die in a pool of lava and save himself a world of trouble... and Incessant screaming.
i NEVER liked indina jones i heard about it but i thought it was gay then i heard shia labeouf was in it n i was the indina film he was in then i never touched inidana jones every again! be cuz shia has been in many other movies
I grew up watching the Indiana Jones movies and to tell you the truth the fourth installment doesnt stray much except for the cg. They are movies you have fun watching and the fifth would be no different.
I loved everything about number 4 except for the aliens. I think George Lucas was running out of ideas. But I loved Shia labeouf and Karen Allen returning. That was stroke of genius. It had great character development and plot direction. But aliens was a poor choice. And I'm glad to hear that a fifth one is confirmed.
@ChasetiferSingletary I'm super happy to hear a fifth movie is in the works because I just finished watching the series yesterday. I personally liked it, as well as the addition of Shia cause he IS a good actor. If you havent seen 'Tru Confessions' you should because he does a VERY good job in that. But on the alien thing, I think it was done because Lucas, Spielberg or someone wanted to go with it cause of something to do with it being set in the 50's. Not sure, I remember reading it somewhere.
@thisislaser dude!! he use to be now his buff he got nominted for best body well pack or watever u wanna call it he use to be like fucken weak n skinny but now his not just go to google n typ his name n theres some picks of him without his shirt on n ull see n guys with big as muscles like IM talking BIG muscles is gross...n his a great actor n eaither way his hot ;p
@HoopsEntertainment The screenplay shows clearly that there is only one "O" but three excalmation points. Thusly: "No!!!" But in my heart, there are a hundred Os.
I like Shia as Mutt as a supporting character. He wasn't nearly as bad as so many haters say (You say he ruined CRYSTAL SKULL, but Capshaw's Willie Scott didn't ruin TEMPLE OF DOOM?) But as I said he's a good supporting character, though I don't know if I'd be into him taking over the franchise like some have talked about.

As a lifetime fan of Indy I was excited to see the new one come out years ago, and yes I was disappointed when I left but as I thought about it all Indy movies had something to do with the supernatural and that's exactly what this one dealt with. Sure I missed the old gritty 80's movie quality but after thinking about it Crystal Skull wasn't all as bad as most fans think.
@JD1010101110 What they need to do is continue the story with an "older" version of the Shia character without Shia actually playing the character. This way the Mutt character takes on the new character version of Indiana without having to use Shia.
even though i cant stand shia and think they should scrap him, im cool with him as long as they dont try to pull any of this passing the torch to the next generation shit! id watch harrison ford play indy pushing a fucking walker with alzheimers before id go see mutt the adventurer! i think most would agree. shia does not have the essence of a 50's kid. no matter how you dress him up, the second you see him you can place him somewhere texting someone or listening to techno. hes just...wrong.
shia lebeouf is a fucking terrible actor, his character his terrible, even steven speilburg hates him and even the idea of indy sequels. Just stop this bullshit lol, 4 was god awful 5 will end up have indy fighting fucking jedis or some shit.
a married and old doctor jones who plays Indy as Connery plays henry sennior, and all the epic and the action in the hands of mutt williams?????...DONT YOU SEE THIS SAGA IS DEAD??
Nothing was wrong with Mutt!!! Shia is definitely the best of Hollywood's young actors. What was the problem with him? The character was the wild child of that generation (greasers in the 50's), like how Indy was to his father.
This is early stage news? - "there's nothing about a synopsis, or the release date, or ANYTHING REALLY. What are you reporting? In other news, the Earth willl be comming to an end, there's nothing about when or how it will happen, just that it will.
I like Shia and I think he did fine in Indy 4. My hope for Indy 5 is that Lucas will take a back seat, Spielberg will be the man in charge and he'll bring the series back to its former glory. None of the Indy films are realistic, but hopefully this story will involve a myth or legend that's well known, like the ark or grail so we fans will be more invested in the story. I think that's one of the reasons 4 failed. We didn't care if Indy found the crystal skull because we didn't know what it was.
i think its good he will be back just write it better no CGI bugs n shit George Lucas needs to step the fuck out on this one.... clasic style fights and action no more gay one liners please i hate that shit... fucking Lucas...
I'm ready, the day when the film will be released I'll be in the cinema before it'll be opened, I'll buy the first ticket and I'll have the Indy's hat on the head.
@gigikusakit Yeah, I'm sure that in a movie with the Power of the Ark, a guy who is still alive without the heart and a guy that after 600 years doesn't die it's impossible to see that DIMENSIONAL VOYAGERS (they're not aliens) can't exist.
I only had three problems with the last movie. "Nuclear Bomb", "Vine swinging with monkeys" and "dimensional beings" - if they just called them feckin aliens I'd remove that one from the list. The rest felt like Indy to me. The main problem with the crystal skull was the same for me as temple of doom, the artifact just wasn't fun enough. We've had the arc and the holy grail. Send him after something epic and fun this time. :D Not a skull or a stone.
@reoite why does everyone have a problem with the nuclear bomb? I think Indy 4 had bigger problems than that scene, which i tought was entrtaining! over the top? maybe but since when wasn indy not over the top stuff? realism was never part of the frenchise
I really hope that they don't screw this one up im gonna see it being a fan of Indiana Jones in hopes that they bring back what Jones is all about NOT NO SCI-FI CRAP!!...lol
Kingdom of the Crystal Skull may not be great but it's alot easier to watch then Temple of Doom, I cant stand that dumb blonde screaming and complaining throughout the whole damn thing.
What do you want from an Indiana Jones film? CRYSTAL SKULL delivered on what is was supposed to: Great action sequences, Indiana's coolness, and a grand adventure involving the supernatural.
@SLPIFan It delivered a typically modern action oriented empty shell that was in the guise of Indiana Jones. There were some good action sequences that were marred by too much use of CG, the classic humor was absent, there was no "follow the clues" story arc that the others had. Ford had no good Indiana one- liners and Shia just didn't belong in the movie. Then you throw in some unnecessary cg prairie dogs and it's all over with.
Really what friend would that be? All I saw was a fun Indiana Jones movie. One that was not really that more ridiculous than any of its predecessors. Well I guess more so than 1 and 3, but haters should really take another look at Temple of Doom with the criticism they levy against Crystal Skull.
@SLPIFan The main thing that ticked fans off was that Crystal was about ALIENS! The creators can try to jazz it up all they want, but it was still aliens none the less. Indy was not supposed to be about sci fi in any which way or form.
I like both a lot, but both were definitely the most ridiculous at points, but to me not to the point of ruining either film. Both are very enjoyable. The Indy franchise has always taken inspiration from b-movies, and since the franchise of the day was sci-fi (specifically alien invader films), they decided to have this immulate them. I was weirded out at first to, but so many filmmakers are bashed for not doing newthings, and its hated for being different not being bad.
@superextremelaser "as long as there's no more retarded crap about aliens, im ok with it"
.
Yeah, aliens from another dimension, no less, that still need conventional flying saucers to get around in! Yep, that made a lot of sense. Oh, and let's not forget George Lucas's other boneheaded idea of lead-lined refrigerators that can protect you when an atomic bomb goes off right nearby. Gee, George, where the fuck did you go all crazy and nuts like this?
@JixYt The genius of George Lucas died shortly after Return of the Jedi. But we did have a few clues. For example: EWOKS. That was a sign of the horrendous Lucas that would spawn the Star Wars prequels and Indy 4. >.<
@Kniletiah "The genius of George Lucas died shortly after Return of the Jedi. But we did have a few clues. For example: EWOKS. That was a sign of the horrendous Lucas that would spawn the Star Wars prequels and Indy 4. >.<"

@gigikusakit Yeah, I'm sure that in a movie with the Power of the Ark, a guy who is still alive without the heart and a guy that after 600 years doesn't die it's impossible to see that DIMENSIONAL VOYAGERS (they're not aliens) can't exist.

Damnit they're gonna rape Indiana Jones again.
What's gonna happen this time, killer robots.

:D Not a skull or a stone.
reoite 1 year ago
@reoite why does everyone have a problem with the nuclear bomb? I think Indy 4 had bigger problems than that scene, which i tought was entrtaining! over the top? maybe but since when wasn indy not over the top stuff? realism was never part of the frenchise

SLPIFan 1 year ago

SLPIFan 1 year ago
@SLPIFan The main thing that ticked fans off was that Crystal was about ALIENS! The creators can try to jazz it up all they want, but it was still aliens none the less. Indy was not supposed to be about sci fi in any which way or form.
Temple is my favorite of the Indy movies -.-
xskullxkissesx 11 months ago
@xskullxkissesx

JixYt 1 year ago
@JixYt The genius of George Lucas died shortly after Return of the Jedi. But we did have a few clues. For example: EWOKS. That was a sign of the horrendous Lucas that would spawn the Star Wars prequels and Indy 4. >.<
