This is why i always bring an extra music source to my gigs like a CD player or something incase i crash or my USB drops out of highschool during a live set.
I currently use the Rane 68, b4 getting this mixer my other option was the sl4. I do consider myself an expert with serato as I've been using it for over 4 year. I was watching you video closely and noticed your using a jumper cable for your usb. I'm not sure if that red cable came with the serato box but you should try using one usb cable for each usb input. This might be putting an overload on your usb on your laptop, splitting the usb power by 2. try this out and see if the happens agin
I hate computers for exactly this reason... no matter how expensive or how great of a computer you get, they just aren't reliable enough for stuff like this. Don't get me wrong, I use a computer to DJ also, but always have CD's as backup, and have the songs for the night on flash drives that I can plug right into my CDJ's in case the computer randomly decides it doesn't feel like working at the moment.
@stewardsproductions You're good! Like i said in the info this happened to me maybe 3 times and I've used Serato for around 4-5 years so you're definitly good espicially if you're using a macbook.
@sandy737 Thanks for letting me know, I have been Using Virtual DJ PRO for over 5 years and just brought 2 CDJ 900s and a Rane TTM 57 mixer, My MACBOOK Pro is 17" with the i7, 7200 rpm HDD, and 8gigs of ram. I have OS 10 Leopard on it and Serato VERSION 2.3.1, I have 1.5 TB Seagate Portable HDD and it takes Serato Longer to Scan than VDJ :( I duno why though, I'm new at this system and only had it for 2 weeks. The HDD is firewire 800 Bus power Drive
@Rainasainzmann No, no mp4's in my library. Only high quality MP3's and uncompressed WAV's. All the songs that you see playing have been played numerous times before. I tried to recreate the crash but could not.

PMcC2011 6 months ago
@PMcC2011 No I still use Snow Leopard. I know the issues they are having with Lion and will not install it until it's officially supported by Serato.
