To my (possibly rather unsubtle) ears it sounds like it's Yukihide Takekawa himself singing. At least judging on what few clips with his singing voice can be found on yt.

For all the people who don't like the song, you must not have listened to a lot of Japanese music, especially the feeling you get from male singers from the 70s and 80s. This style is nothing unusual, and the Japanese aesthetic is one where you don't have to go over the top in order to touch someone deeply. Could be you just need to know the language to get something out of it.

What i find wierd is that he said he didn't have lyrics to sing while he played the song but his mouth moved as if he were singing. o.0

Yeah, that was weird. First time I heard him play his music during the game, I was wondering what the heck he was mouthing out.

Although I'm absolutely insane about getting lyrics for this song, and I absolutely love the idea entirely, this singer just doesn't cut it. I'm sorry. I just can't see the emotion in it. Plus how they recreated the song with instruments instead of sticking to the original midi version just butchered it. I'm only being honest. Down rate me if you like. But I honestly just don't understand why anyone would kill this song so much.

It's your own opinion. It's a pretty old song and the singer may not have been the best. Also I think it was considered unconventional to produce the song with only the original sounds heard in the game, because it was suppose to be just a lyric song, it wasn't actually in the game at any point, this song was the sole non-game track from the OST.
