  • I'M SORRY ,,,, SUX

  • That fuckin' kid... I take back every bad and negative thought I ever had or thought to myself about Wolfgang not being able to cut the fucking cake... HE CUTS THE FUCKING CAKE. He has a way with that instrument... I can hear him improvising all over the place... taking risks on the instrument without even thinking about it... like his ada - and always comes out of it landing on his feet.

  • Dave has Laryngitis!

  • Wolfgang's bass playin is off the chain! Love his chops on the album too. Hate to say it but the kid smokes Michael Anthony and adds a new flavor to VH. Dave sounds like shit though.

  • @jtramm55 i agree bout the kid BUT DLR BRO...SOUNDS FUCKING AMAZING!!

  • Wolfgang SLAMMIN' da bass!

  • IT IS SUPER MARIO.........AWESOME

  • but who are the members now? the original formation?

  • @santyrush All but Michael Anthony, bassist, replaced by Eddie's son Wolfgang. Michael was kicked out because he likes Sammy Haggar. I hate it when mom and dad fight...

  • Awesome!!! I'm going to get it ASAP! Thanks!

  • When did they hire the Lennox Air Conditioning man to do lead vocals?

  • But they still got it

  • They all got old !!

  • wow wolfgang can play

  • 1976 not 74

  • Glad to see this :)

  • this is not NEW VH. This track is from 1974 and was never used on a VH record. Great song but not new....

  • @VisionRecordingCt maybe first stop watching vh1 lol

  • plus he has the p bass snarl tone

  • They sound so awesome I need to see them live!

  • @Possesssed666 no this sounded like crap what video was you watching live there great but this video sucked

  • wolfgang looks good! He slimmed down lol

  • Wolfgang absolutely smokes on this track, fuck yeah

  • is Mario Bros singing?

  • Sounds like Wolfie's been practicing. Awesome song, classic VH groove.

  • okay this crap about whether its Mike Anthony or Wolfie that should be there, or whether Chickenfoot rocks better than the current line-up. You known what? Old VH v DLR solo v New VH v Chickenfoot all rocked awesome in their own way, and all rocked better than the Gary Cherone era.

Now why is Dave dressed like SuperMario?

  • Is that David Lee Roth or the guy I hired to paint my house? Dude try looking like a rock star and not a washed out Mick Jagger impersonator already, you're not 80 - yet!

  • @dmcwashere lol

  • new single for sure

  • Great New/Old song. Wofgang is PUMPING new Life into the BAND.

  • They used to play this song before they got signed.

  • I love mike anthony, but I think wolfgang being in the band ready helps these guys stay sober.

  • It's a big shame that this vids filmed from the stage , for the reason the that Dave's waited all his life for this gig and the vocals would have only sounded good from FOH , BECAUSE THIS BAND ARE THAT GOOD TOGETHER

  • Why is Dave dressed like Super Mario?

  • @DanteUmbra cause its him in Super Van Halen Brothers.......you can kill me now for that bad joke

  • @DanteUmbra No doubt. He was never the most stable fashion wise, but what the hell?

  • edward van halen, alex van halen, wolfgang van halen, and the original singer.

i think it's van halen! you can't top the classic line-up with mike,, but wolfie is adding some

nice bass lines to fill in how would you like your son playing in your band!. that's what's going on. love it or leave it.as for old demos great! beef em up! dave wrote most of the lyrics.

they weren't released. some of us already heard them. how about big trouble!

  • Wolifie is progressive, listen to his playing! This may well be a new musical era for VH, with Wolfie's influenece the band may start to get more progressive in composing longer, more complex songs. Instead of verse, chorus, verse, bridge, chorus....there's now gonna be a tangent in the middle for like 15 mins of straight jamming! That break-down part in this song was fkin amazing.

  • @drewlsy Not wrong, I'm really liking that bass sound and playing. It really brings a new vibrancy to their classic sound. I wasn't too sure about replacing Mike Anthony with Wolfgang, but I'm more than warming to it now.

  • @Gerardus1970 I, too, have put my purist hat aside and trust me, I was waay anti-new VHalen (avoided the 07 shows when they rolled into town), as I felt Michael Anthony deserved to be part of the reunion, if not for mere posterity. But I came to the conclusion recently that, that's my nostalgia talking, today, I am reminded that they are like any band out there that is still growing and developing creatively, so adding a new member is not entirely wrong, it's just life happening.

  • @drewlsy ahhh longer more complex songs.. u mean the gary cherone era? no thanks

  • @dmcwashere Get the funk outta here! Had to, that was for comic relief, in reality, I extreemely despise that band. Y'know, I beg to differ, I thought the GC era had some pretty inspired song-writing instrumentally, which added a certain emotional and artistic depth to Eddie's playing, what was off was the lack of chemistry. Wolfie is an instrumentalist: very chops-heavy, which means that, this may inspire Eddie to explore more challenging modes of expression in his writing.

  • stop talking shit peeps....halen is back!!!............there going back to basics....it wont be the same...dave doesnt have the vox...& wolfie is no mike anthony.....but there keeping rock alive...they just gotta be raw & dry on stage...& it will be all good......they should some how team up w/sabbath...who agrees????

  • Wolfgang sounds fucking awesome...

  • Wow!!!!!!!!!!! Can't wait for this.

  • Take that ignorant bullshit babbling some place else. It gets me that the ones who dog out a particular band, just hang around. tells me, ur closet, have no life, or just a plain out "prick". I don't give a shit if every song on the record is from old demo's, if it sounds like this, Hail Hail Mighty Van Halen!

  • Wow Wolfgang really belongs in that band. He's a fantastic bass player, guitarist, drummer and keyboardist. He aboslutely wipes the floor with any other bass player out there, let alone Mike Anthony. Listen to the demo's from the 70's and then compare the bass to this...Wolfgang is a musical prodigy, and Mike Anthony should just retire.

  • So are you Nag! If it's fresh to a VH fan's ears, who gives a sh*t what ur bb brain has worked up to slober out. It's always somebody's mindless interest to think "motive", or something negative. i respect ur a VH fan (only), but u just contradicted urself w/ that "double-talkin' jive" bullshit. Tell me little man, did this washed up singer gross more on last tour than any of tours w/ Sammy? u know it! I'm not here to bash Sam, take up for Roth, only to respond to something that was a joke!

  • Who cares if it's an old song. Didn't Eddie write the damned thing?? What difference does it make when it was written? That one song is better than ANYTHING Chickenfoot has ever recorded!

  • Comment removed

  • It's a composite of those two songs, thanks for correcting me

  • points id like to make!wolfey actually sounds very good!people are saying its an old song but so what.house of pain was on there original tape for gene simmons but didnt make it until "1984".lots of artists dont release material for years and years.its just the way it goes.eddie sounds great.the whole band sounds great!

  • LOL! DLR looks like Mario Bros. Lulz... Man, I am SO FUCKING PUMPED! NEW VAAAAAAN HAAAAALEEEEEN! Just a few more days and we get the first single then in 30 day the new ALBUM! AMERICA...FUCK YEAH!

  • This one became Mean Streets.

  • @MrUltraworld actually, look up Voo Doo queen. that one became Meanstreets

  • This is really old. Haven't heard this in years.

  • Dave looks a little weird but, he always did. Glad he's not wearing spandex at his age. Still take him over Sammy any day. Got sick of all those Sammy love songs.

  • This ain't too bad. Way better than the Tattoo thing I heard. But I don't think this is new. I remember them playing this at a show I was at years ago.

  • Wow, the only one in van halen who has aged well is Wolfy! This song sounds much better than the 30 second tattoo preview. Hope the album is deep in good cuts!

  • Umm glad to see Roth is back with VH but it would make me even happier to hear him...

  • Dude - when filming video, turn your camera sideways. Duh.

  • Kind of glad you can not hear DLR it was always about the music and the show. Sammy could sing, DLR was a broadway production.

  • Returning to their roots!! AWESOME!!! Wonder if some of their other old tunes they never recorded will be on the album.. hmmmmmmmmmmm. Dave in coveralls is a lil' dorky lookin.

  • @DELHOOLY Dave looks like rerun from What's happenin.

  • @TheHeetmizer " WHATS HAPPENIN ROG?"

  • Did they forget to turn Dave's mic on ??????

  • frickin amazing theyre back

  • heard this song on an old demo. only dave sang it not talked it, come to think about it he talked every song on there last tour,

  • New found respect for Wolfgang after hearing this!

  • @FliesLikeABanana agreed kid can play...

  • @bones9965

    fo sho! :-)

  • @FliesLikeABanana I've noticed wolf playing much like Eddie's right hand. He does fills like Michaeal Anthony....sometimes mimics Gene Simmons. awesome

  • @BassFever74

I'm lovin' the chords thrown in there! :-)

  • @FliesLikeABanana

I agree!!! Runs in the family!

  • @zoofolk1

I'm listening to the new album right now.....unbelievably good!!! ;-)

  • LOVE IT!!! Wolf can kick it!

  • Magic!

  • Sounds to me Wolfies' holding it down.

  • One of my favorite parts of the original demo is Mike's bass playing on it, but I have to admit, Wolf is no slouch either. He's not playing it as funky, but he's playing a bit more technical. Nothing wrong with that. The lyrics might be different as well. I'm looking forward to hearing their new stuff. Ed has always been an influence. I saw them in 2007 with Roth and Ed was playing so badly it actually made me sad and embarrassed for him. I hope he can regain his old form.

  • Thanks man thats awesome. Must have been a blast.

  • I miss Michael but wolfs bass playing is amazing

  • Bad Ass!!!!!!!!!!

  • Alright now Im happy!

  • PRETTY BADASS !!!!

  • I was kinda against Wolfie playin bass but damn this is good. He seems to have alot more talent than he did a couple years ago. I hope the new album will have good bass lines.

  • Van Halen took a shit and it was Chickenfoot.

  • Impressive bass playing..Go Wolfie!!

  • Ah yeah bout stinkin time!!! This song jams, if the other 12 songs jam like this then we're gonna get a kickin new album

  • Dave looks like the painter from the Electric co.

  • even with the crappy quality, i can't stop listening! love it! thanksss for sharing!

  • I love it all, I'll take VH anyway I can get. Thanks for footage.

  • I think Ed forgot how to play small clubs you can hardly hear Dave hah.

  • This is not the kid-Wolfie from the 2007,2008 tour. This is the adult-Wolfie, and he is a bad-ass. Wolfie is just totally killing it. Stage presence, bass sound, vocals, etc.. You can see how much he has grown as a musician in the last few years. Imagine a new album with bass like this on it, wow.

  • Man listen to wolfy bass.. That is top notch bass playing

  • Wow from the sound of this Wolfgang is a f'n drill. Very cool :)

  • @stuart5150 it's a HUGE improvement. It's the Van Halen blood that makes him talented. ED, Alex both have it. this 2 minute clip makes me wanna listen to the album. Before I was just going to listen to it online. Now i'm probably going to buy it.

  • Yeah this is you're the one and a combo of light up the sky and a few others. This was supposed to be on one of their earlier albums but new lyrics replace these. I am glad it is not some new sound. Sound was probably better live. From what you can hear it should be rocking. It's van Halen. Have to go. Had 3rd row in 1981 in oakland cost 12 bucks. Now front row 1200 min. Glad the wait is over. VHKA

  • Dude haters gonna hate, but holy shit Wolfgang is holding this band down solid! His bass playing is killer, great thick tone, love the chord work, and did you hear those fucking backing vocals? Drowning out Dave, remind you of anyone haters? Go Wolfie!

  • sounds like shit!

  • Oh for godsakes everyone...stop the Chickenfoot vs Van Halen and Sammy vs DLR shit. Chickenfoot was never meant to be compared to VH...it's just an offhand project fun thing put together by 4 famous musicians like so many other types of these bands before....never inteneded to sell 6 million albums either. Sammy vs DLR...I'm 38 and have LOVED both eras of VH since I was 11 years old. Different type of eras, but both rock. When DLR left, I'm happy VH carried on with Sammy..good tunes there too.

  • Thanks for posting but I gotta ask, Dave, what's with the Super Mario Bros. look?

Looking forward to the new cd!!!! I'm pissed their not coming to Oregon on their tour though!!!

  • @blazervb

Don't sweat it. What you see is not the full tour. In 2007 my friends and I drove from New Orleans to see them opening night in Charlotte, NC because we weren't on the schedule. New Orleans was added in 2008 so there's still hope for a venue near you!! Or you can fly here in June and see it with us!! lol

  • @RO9S That would be cool to party with you down in NOLA with Van Halen!!

I'm thinking what they (and other bands I love like Rush) is play the Sleep Country Amphitheater in Ridgefiled Wa. It's only a 20 minute drive from where I am.

It seems like nobody wants to come play in Oregon.

Oh well. My two options is wait it out or go to the Tacoma show. It's on a saturday.

    VH FOREVER!!!!

  • nice! i like makin the oldies new again!!

  • No more Chickenshit comments. Van Halen has returned. If you like Spammy keep it to yourself!

  • @wimpyliberalbuster32

Yea ! Spammy is a fat fuck

  • @wimpyliberalbuster32 Ok, I'll keep it to myself that I'd rather hear Sammy than Dave. But it makes me happy, that Van Halen returned after all. And Wolfie seems to have learned his bass guitar lessons. :-)

  • @Blaubeerwald1 Dude okay cool you like Sammy but Dave fits Van Halen better then Sammy so just shush

  • @PepsiManJamOrHam

I love Dave over Sammy as well but one thing Sammy has over Dave is he can actually sing good live, Dave can't sing his songs anymore just like Steven Percy of RATT, notes are key and neither one can hit them perfectly anymore.

  • @wimpyliberalbuster32 oh please....as happy as i am that VH is back with a new album and is touring again dont be fooled. All these "new songs" on the album are just old songs and riffs that have been rearranged and used so they can make more money off of dedicated fans who are hungry for new VH music. As long as Ed is sober they are so much better with Sammy....a frontman who is actually a GOOD singer and a true musician...Dave is all washed up....he has been since 1984...

  • @wimpyliberalbuster32 Sorry but have you already noted that dave can`t sing a note and can´t kick like old times, sorry but THT'S NOT VAN HALEN

  • Great sound but held the camera phone the wrong way.

  • man we could discuss all day if its new or oldie...the thing it's the same with right now, in old demos..and realesed in 92...many bands revisit old demos or ideas...for me it's new because they added parts that are really cool like the solo, great groove with wolfie on bass, the riff its not exactly the same than the old demo, it's a badass song, sounds like old vh with newer taste. can't wait to listen the studio version.

  • Is that the ghost of Ben Hogan with the cap singing here ???

What a trainwreck here ..... Eddie is almost out of trump cards by now...

    Nice overalls on DLR..... sic

  • this is bad ass!

  • They used a variation of this riff on OUTTA LOVE AGAIN from Van Halen II. I'm glad they dug this old demo out. Dig out some more as bonus tracks etc. VAN HALEN RULES!!!

  • DLR LOOKS RIDICOLOUS!!!

THROW THAT SHITTIE HAT AND THAT CARPENTER "SUIT" INTO THE CLOSET AND WEAR TIGHT LEATHER PANTS!!!!!!

  • @margix fuck you...what do you look like, Chump?

  • ok wolfie's bass line sounds fuckin amazing .... holy shit

  • Playin da bass!!! Again, gotta laugh at all the Wolfgang haters, finally, a true match to Eddies guitar prowess, on bass...will miss Anthony vocals, but we've yet to see what comes of it on disc with Wolfgang doing them....

and big fat middle finger to Sammy!! all artists pull from the back catalog....when the real Van Halen does it sounds good. Sorry to say but "I can't drive 55" if released today would tank like a Bay City Rollers gig .... ear to ear grins....Go VAN HALEN

  • @craymorr2003

Fuck you as well girl ..... Hagar owns it all ..... You are just another jealous POS DLR fan to the end ...... I sure hope EVH can stay SOBER on the upcoming tour.

Heaven knows he needs the cash !!! Why else would he bring back DLR?

    He hates that gayfuck ....

  • @onlyafterdarkness

you are an authentic shithead. Chickendick is basically dead despite Hagar trying to surround himself with the best he could find. Maybe DLR can wear matching yellow and gain 40 pounds to resemble Van Hagar next time out?

  • hopefully they will play BIG TROUBLE!

  • this is the real VH , wil probably sell 10 times more than anything sammy did with or without Satriani

  • @JPATCH1ify I prefer VH with DLR but Hagar is ONE MILLION TIMES BETTER AS A VOCALIST!!!!

  • @margix The mike is obviously turned down in the mix. I could find better vocalists than Hagar at the local Music Store. It is all about originality in rock. Jagger can't sing. Ozzy can't sing either. But they ROCK like DLR because they got it.

  • HAWT DAMN, BABY!!! YES, YES, AND HELL TO THE MUTHA FUNKIN YES AGAIN!!! "She's The Woman" has ALWAYS been my #1 ALL TIME favorite unreleased VH track!!! I'm so happy right now from viewing this clip...I'm not sure if I wanna scream and shout OR break down and cry!!! So you can better understand my overwhelming flood of emotions right now, just imagine waking up one day and finding out that the FULL concert of the Oakland show from the Fair Warning Tour was available on dvd...do ya feel me NOW?!?

  • It's New now with Wolfie on bass. He is awesome. GO Wolfmister

  • ese es eddie!?!?!?

  • Nice! I would also like to see the following demos on the new album:

    1. Light in the Sky

    2. Young and Wild

    3. We Die Bold

  • @alexvh1990 Im hopin for Put Out the Lights and Lets Get Rockin...I just realized they have a lot of songs with Light in the title

  • wow sound GREAT!!!

  • Fantastic. I love them. I've been a following them since 1980. Just great to hear the distitive & great voice to match perfectly with the great music.

  • Wolfgang's backing vocals are for sh*t.

  • Anyone who says it is "Not Van Halen without Michael Anthony" never saw Van Halen live when Mike was in the band. His "bass solo" on the Monsters of Rock tour was him coming out with his Jack Daniels bass and a bottle of Jack. He punches his bass a couple times, downs the bottle and the crowd cheers. Talk about LAME-O!! He was worse than Gene Simmons, hanging on the root note! I happen to like Wolfgang's playing much better!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! He has actual talent, proven right here in theis song!!!

  • Its not Van Halen until they bring Michael Anthony back.

  • & stop bitchen

  • Wolfgang has the gifted goods, now it's time to enjoy van halen's return,

  • Great to see Wolfgang kills it and is not at the party just cos of Dad!

  • 2 dislikes, 2 dipshits!

  • Wonder if they're going to release this and other early band demos that were never formally released on the new album?

  • Wow, Wolfie. Good job!

  • The Wolfie haters need to hush up now. The kid is SMOKIN' that bass and singing solid backups. If it wasn't for him breathing new life into this band, this gig and the upcoming tour would have never seen the light of day.

  • Wolfie just kills. His playing adds a whole new dimension to the group.I just know this record gonna be awesome

  • this is so cool!! loving this! wish i could have been there!

  • I miss Michael Anthony...but I really like the kids playing.

  • Bring back Mikey, and get rid of that dipshit planking idiot Woooolfie. Dammit !

  • Cannot unsee DLR

  • the original demo is great & it's cool they dug it out

  • Wolf is very solid. Some of those runs he mirrors his Dad. Sound really f'in cool. Thank God they don't suck!

  • @Mentalplix thats because his dad shows him what to play.

  • Awesome fucking good but any higher qulity recordings?

  • No question, Wolfie can deliver the goods and is a VERY strong player. Always loved this tune from back in the early Starwood days and was disappointed that it never turned up on any of the albums. Based on the best inside sources it is likely that the new record is going to have a lot of older material from that period, which is fine by me and a really cool idea IMO. As any serious VH fan knows, they had a ton of good stuff from 76-77 that was never used,so dust it off and let it rip!

  • holy fuck wolfgang is a prodigy on bass!!! holyshit that bass was really awesome

  • Didn't know Wolfgang could jam like that. Wow that was pretty awesome. Welcome back Van Halen!

  • kind of a Romeo Delight feel to it...

  • As many people noted on the links I'll share, the original solo from this song turned into "Mean Streets" from the Fair Warning recording. Check it out!

    watch?v=Vsqsv0qgkag

    &

    watch?v=PqAzfp8Zypw&feature=fvst

It won't let me post the links the correct way, but it's on Youtube, just add the watch..etc after youtube dot com

Looking forward to hearing the new cd when it comes out!

  • This is not really a "new" song since it was on the "Zero" demo's produced by Gene Simmons of Kiss back in 1976, (also called Firestarter, the Gene Simmons Demos 1976 / Warner Brothers Demos 1977) I will put links to those demos so you can hear the similarities & differences between the original & what the guys played live in NY last night. With that being said, and with all due respect to Mike, Wolfgang KILLS the bass part on this, adding runs & chords not on the original version. He's 4 Real!

  • @WGMI1440 I wonder just how much Wolf's playing will make it to the new album. After all, Eddie played most of the base on VH III.

  • @WGMI1440 Exactly...Its not a new song, its a really really old song. I got the song too from those demos for Simmons. Too bad so many people will think that this is a new song.

  • @WGMI1440

So true. Thanks for saying. Too many fans don't realize that A. Wolfie is the reason DLR is back in the mix and B. HE CAN PLAY! I mean Everyone would love to see all originals but Wolfie is no slouch and he made THIS happen so I love him for that!!

  • @WGMI1440 Everyone should of fuckin recognized before ... Wolfie is the shit .... hmmm just look at his dad and uncle

  • Omg they are back its giving me chills... Yeaaaaaaahhhhh!!!! Fuck my life im gonna be deployed to afghanstan while they are on tour

  • @onslaughtofterrorJW thanks for serving!! be safe!!

  • nice to hear some heavy bass again, ala fair warning, so far so good. Hope Roth does'nt get pissed the killer music drowned out his singing.......

  • Cool!

    New guitar solo!
