I've been thinking about trying to move to Houston in the future. I live in Las Vegas and I love it here but I've grown up in Phoenix/Las Vegas my whole life and I kind of just want something new instead of the desert but I hate the cold, so I want to stick to somewhere hot.
Say what you will about Houston being hot, sprawled, ugly, polluted, etc. - it's not for everyone, sure. But it's the fifth largest metropolitan economy in the US with one of the most robust job markets and by far the fastest growing one. It's also one of the most diverse cities in the country with all the big city amenities at a small town price. Scenery? I find some of these mega-freeway corridors as impressive and awe-inspiring as any mountain backdrop. Great city.
My friend moved to Houston like 7 months ago. He says to me that my ass is coming down for a visit. I also grew up thinking that Texas was nothing but Cows, Bulls, Farms, Ranches, Oil Fields, Rattlesnakes, and JR Ewing. Now I know that Houston, Dallas, San Antonio, etc. are no different than NYC, Boston, Philly and Washington. Love the work Click. Keep driving and be safe.
I visit family in Houston every July. Being from Canada the heat and humidity is killer but the city is vibrant at night plus the BBQ restaurants are good in Texas.
45 is the craziest! Left lane for fast drivers and far right for slow? Nope! Not on 45! You have people driving fast and slow all over the place its so crazy, and I have seen the fastest drivers the most on 45 also. Been wanting to do something like this but the suspension and sway bar makes it a pretty bumpy ass ride, but taking corners is a blast. Still will probably try it in the next few months.
@ScrewdUPClickV2 the Boonies???? what the heck is that? and ive bin to Houstin and Dallas/fort worth i visit quite often i have familly their and ive never bin to san antonio and actuly visited ive just dona a bus transfer there
@91latinking Lol you thinking about them little crappy places that nobody knows about in Texas. Houston, Dallas, Austin, and San Antonio are the only cities I will go to in Texas. I live in Texas also!
I lived in Houston in the mid-2000s, I'm originally from Oregon and live in LA now. Houston was an interesting place to live as a preteen (I'm 17 now). I do miss the food, thunderstorms, and nice, Southern hospitality. I don't miss the conservative politics or brutal summers though. Not a place I'd spend the rest of my life in, but and alright city otherwise. I'm going back again this weekend to see some old friends as well, haven't been back much since I left.
I hate houston(texas in general) i've lived here my whole life. People are so close minded in texas. I cant wait to go to san diego for bootcamp. I hope i get stationed there. After i get out of the corps I.m NEVER coming back to houston. I will gladly trade the 100% humidity, flat land, 100+ degree weather 8months per year, DIRTY galveston beaches, lack of natural beauty, shitty public transit system. For sunshine and 70 degree weather year round. Clean ocean front beaches and natural beauty.
Some say that Houston is in the South; I disagree. Certain populations share a Southern culture. I've lived in the South and it's very different in feel. The only part of TX that is Southern is E. TX. Htown is a Southwestern city. The 'South' is not historically ethnically, racially and religiously diverse like TX. They don't really have the major industries that TX has. I just moved here and noticed this much. So far I like it here even though it is HOT and the fwys are like mazes.
i was born in houston moved in the dallas area at the age of 11 no disrespect but i would never want to live in houston again but it served a great childhood purpose for what it was.
I miss Houston so much. A beautiful place on earth. All these roads bring me back memories of Houston. Had so much fun in this place. Keep on rocking Houston.
These Highways take you to many more Unbelievable places outside of the houston city limits aswell.. to every nook and cranny of the beautiful and Awesome State of Texas.
why doesnt L.A have high mast lighting like houston i went there and theres no lights on the freeways like houston it no fun with out the high mast lighting
AAAh should I stay in Houston or go to Los Angeles for College wtf btw My crush is in Houston but ....he's leaving and once I move ..I'm going to be so fucken depressed ...aahhh
Houston is not a terrible city, if you can't handle the heat then stay away. I was born and raised there. I currently live in Northern Cali and it SUCKS! That's what I get for marrying a military man. I sure miss whataburger...
Back in the 80's got off work around 1:30am and got into a tussle with a van load of people and off we GO! Made the entire 610 loop with them chasing me,I would speed up and slow down to let them think they were close to catching me but they gave up after only one lap...however I got air on top of the Ship Channel Bridge!!! wooohooo!

@ScrewdUPClickV2 Memorial Park is awesome and great to ride a bike around and the Metro through downtown is pretty good considering, but the Roads are A+
Houston, Texas is a kick ass city! The people are wonderful the freeways have to be big to grow the explosive economy......Anybody that bashes the great city of Houston should have their head examined!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1
@NinezeroPlayer I agree with you. Right here, this is sprawl at its worst. I don't think there's any other city in the world that is as fu*ked up as Houston.
@adrianroam95 oh plz .. you speak of faul garbage crap man . you dont live here , nor do you live in this country . so i best just keep your stupid ass comments and your stupid opinions to your self .
@ScrewdUPClickV2 don't talk shit about canada dude, it's pretty much the same as the states. we have crappy road infrastructure here in vancouver, but our quality of life's just awesome. my opinions may be a bit biased, but i don't rly get why u guys need 12 laned freeways to get yourselves around when the capacity of a rapid transit line is 10 times higher. Our metro area has over 2 million ppl and we only need a 6 laned freeway and a couple of 4 laners to connect our region.
@adrianroam95 um excuse me. talk shit about Canada ? .. Hmm thats funny, i never mentioned anything about your Country , nor did i talk shit about it . and if im not mistaken as your comments i see below . its quite opposite . you yourself have been the only one that had any negative comments about a city in this conversation .
@ScrewdUPClickV2 all i'm saying is that sprawl - what's shown here - doesn't seem environmentally friendly and sustainable. After all, you can't keep widening freeways to meet population demands. sooner or later, you'll run outta room. But again, TXDoT sure makes freeway infrastructure look impressive - and thats why this video rocks.
@adrianroam95 Houston home to more oil companies then any other city in the country obviously does not care about the environment, but I still love Houston. The sprawl occurs because people likes owning their own land here.
@adrianroam95 rail . take a look at a map , and data . that defies how wide spread the city of Houston is .. Rail doesnt work on a city that has the 2nd most square miles in the lower 48 . houston is about 3 times the size of your city . of course we need 10-12 lanes freeways, traffic demands for them.
3. Visual pollution: Ugly commercial billboards everywhere or ones put up by Christian fundamentalists being nasty. Giant signs advertising some chain restaurant, fast-food joint, gas station. Consume, consume, consume, praise jesus, consume, consume, consume, hallelujah!
2 No preservation of historical architecture. (Anyone remember the Shamrock Hotel?) Remember the 3rd Ward? And what they put in its place is hideous. I remember an old 19th century building downtown that was torn down and a parking garage was put in its place. A PARKING GARAGE! That happens ALL THE TIME in Houston.
1. No rapid transit system (that 1 line tram they had to build for the Superdome is a joke). They just build more or wider highways, despite studies that show that it is only a short term solution. No one walks anywhere, therefore. It’s just choked full of cars. No sense of community or life at all. Everyone just living in their own suburbs.
Only an idiot would want to spend most of the year trapped in air conditioning. Such an idiot usually moves to houston. Then this dope will say, "Yeah but it's a dry heat." To make matters worse there is absolutely nothing to do in houston besides run from your car's air conditioning to your house's air conditioning.
@NinezeroPlayer Yea aint alot to do in houston.... you have to know people.. I mean there is plenty of bars and theres clubs.. and the biggest food places in the world... but besides that theres not much... its to big out there for somebody to find somthing to do on there own. you have to make friends who know houston like the back of there hand and they will show you how to have fun! I love Houston ;) Its the 3rd biggest city in america and its so laid back
@NinezeroPlayer The thing you don't like is called "weather"..not Houston. That weather is found in other places around the United States and across the world. There are many things to do in Houston. Even if you don't have any money you can still have a wonderful time by enjoying the view of the city skyline, going to the mall, parks, and other places. What's your perfect place? .. that you like ?
Your videos are incredible...so clear, edited so perfectly, such fantastic visuals...I've been enjoying these so much. Thanks for sharing these with all of us.
So awesome!! Love the music too! You should start a businesses doing this if you haven't already and get cities to pay you to put them on their sites. You could make some major coin. :)
hahaha.....I like your Video buddy...don't let this ignorant kids upset you...I been to Dallas and their down town aren't that beauty either...keep up the good works friend...don't let this insect discourage you...I love Houston...
Houston is sexy especially at night.Call me weird but I get a magical feeling going out there especially around Galaria area.I guess its because I am from small city.Oh nice name btw Screwed Up click FTW!!
@LanceInAustralia na it was spaced out i'd say over a week period .. the 290 was filmed on a saturday night around 10-11 at night , the 45 freeway was filmed on a saturday night i say around 8:30 9
If this was filmed in the day time he would be sitting in traffic. Haha

ScrewdUPClickV2 1 year ago
@ScrewdUPClickV2 all i'm saying is that sprawl - what's shown here - doesn't seem environmentally friendly and sustainable. After all, you can't keep widening freeways to meet population demands. sooner or later, you'll run outta room. But again, TXDoT sure makes freeway infrastructure look impressive - and thats why this video rocks.
adrianroam95 1 year ago
@adrianroam95 Houston home to more oil companies then any other city in the country obviously does not care about the environment, but I still love Houston. The sprawl occurs because people likes owning their own land here.
XxlivinwithitxX 1 year ago

@ScrewdUPClickV2

So awesome!! Love the music too! You should start a businesses doing this if you haven't already and get cities to pay you to put them on their sites. You could make some major coin. :)
