Use e-brake to save the day. I've saved my car at least once from a guy who short stopped his van in front of me. Brake and steering will induce understeer, use e-brake to swing the rear out so you have more angle of getting out of the apex.
if you had let off the break and used the e-brake to send the car into a slide it may have stopped that from happening. but it hard to think when your in the moment. I hope the car was not to bad.

@Polybun You don't know much about these cars or suspension for that matter. A beefier rear sway bar in these cars will induce oversteer. A lack of one will do the opposite. How do I know you may ask, I OWN a subaru and HAVE a larger aftermarket rear sway bar. First hand experience

clearly understeer! I have an STi and I will admit STi's have bad issues with it. Its why EVOs will get STis at the track all day. Making an STi over steer (backend sliding ) on dry tarmac takes alot of guts=brink of losing control ( im too scared to wreck mine )
he was getting a little too aggressiven in his turns. speed going into the corner is the reason this crash happend. he should have grabbed the e-brake and let it go in a little more sidways and powerd out of the slide instead he froze up and hit the wall. yes the crash only took 2 seconds but a good driver should have a better reaction.

The guy displayed that he knew what he was doing from most of the vid. It looks like he just couldn't tell where the turn was from it being dark and driving so fast. He was obviously getting closer to the right side wall before the crash as he was trying to determine the angle of the corner.
Thats called entering too fast at the wrong angle. The car simply couldn't turn that hard. At the same time.. I wonder about tire temps. Maybe they were too hot.
I think it was the night driving that got him. It was somewhat confusing having the other cars headlights pointed right at you like that. The wall seemed to come out of nowhere. i think this guy is a great driver and shouldn't be criticized and shit on for the crash.
Subarus understeer a lot. I have driven an STI with stock and upgraded suspension. EVO still handle better in with the stock suspension. When some goes over board with an EVO it oversteers and the weight of the top-rear shoots out!!!
This guy who is driving is obviously reasonably experienced , the lighting on that corner was retarded , so he misjudged it. He took the corner too tight and caught some understeer . It happens to the best of us.

I think it was the night driving that got him. It was somewhat confusing having the other cars headlights pointed right at you like that. The wall seemed to come out of nowhere. i think this guy is a great driver and shouldn't be criticized and shit on for the crash.

Subarus understeer a lot. I have driven an STI with stock and upgraded suspension. EVO still handle better in with the stock suspension. When some goes over board with an EVO it oversteers and the weight of the top-rear shoots out!!!

This guy who is driving is obviously reasonably experienced , the lighting on that corner was retarded , so he misjudged it. He took the corner too tight and caught some understeer . It happens to the best of us.
