  • the gamestore in japan is way bettter than us store and all america

  • Interesting that "retro" gaming is popular enough to actually have brick n' mortar businesses in Japan! I wonder how much of that merchandise actually moves. Either that, or it's super cheap to own a physical business in Japan.

  • Awesome store, wish there were more like this in Europe

  • Great video, as usual!

  • I bet all these stores and Hard Off all went bankrupt since you left youtube haha.

  • also uploaded on my birthday august the 3rd :)

  • What DRAGONBALL GAME WAS THAT!!!!!

  • Nick DeBarres the Japanese correspondent for Play magazine says that when shopping in japan always use the change dish located on the counter instead of passing money hand to hand."NEVER directly hand the clerk money" he say's. Now, I always thought this was due to germ-phobia, but this video shows that any snot-nosed kid off the street can just pick up a controller and try games. Does someone sanatize the controllers after use? or are peolpes idea of modern japan just out-dated. Anyone?

  • you can try games like that at my local gamestop/eb games

  • whats your point.how is that related to japanese culture.

  • @LouDiamondPhilips199 uhh I don't have a point. Its a comment in the comment box...

  • Are there shops like this on Okinawa?

  • Where is this shop??

  • Japan.

  • Since the DS has no region lockout, if I ever go to japan and are low on DS games, I will go there.

  • neo-geo? really old?

if you had said like Intellivision or Commodore it would have been more fitting.

  • dude, straight up, i cud live in there :D

  • Shops like that could end up costing me a fortune - thankfully we don't have that temptation over here... haha

  • lukemorse1 investigative reporter!Nice vid man.Loved how you snuck that camera in.If I was there right now my wife would end up leaving me from all the money I would spend.

  • The whole time you were in there, trying not to get caught with the camera, I kept thinking of Monty Python's Life of Brian. "You've been f*cking nicked, me beauty." LOL!

    5 stars!

    STAY AWESOME!

  • I wish there was a store like this where I live ]:

  • ZOMG! I need that Famicom edition GB Micro. How much are they there?

    I come to Japan.

    Great video!

  • Japon?

  • Great video Luke! I've recently been devouring all your videos where you venture into these shops, and Hard Off. It's so interesting checking out how everything is in that part of the world, and Holy Cow does it beat the pants off Game Stop.

  • I love Eastern stores doesn't matter if they are in Japan,Taiwan wherever they all seem to have that market stall feel.Beats the crap out of the UK and our souless atmosphere free shops

  • Taiwan hm... dont u mean China?

  • both.I used to follow vids by a biker in Taiwan.Doesn't really matter what country you could add Vietnam into that list as well they all have that same look and feel that you get walking through a market

  • what I mean is that Taiwan is part of china so a bit weird to name many countries and then a region in a country

  • my mistake ty

  • Comment removed

  • Loved the Bleach game you pointed the cam on. Why are the shops being stricter with the filming? I though it would be publicity for tourists to visit the mecca of gaming that is Japan.

  • hows the value of the yen? (in dollars)

  • 100 yen is a dollar

  • 1 Japanese yen = 0.010512 U.S. dollars

  • and 1 american dollar?

  • 1 U.S. dollar = 95.2653139 Japanese yen

  • thx and is that much?

  • Not sure how their "dollars and cents" work over there. If one yen is like a penny, then there isn't that much of a difference. However, by what I've seen in some of Luke's videos, I don't think this is the case. I'm guessing 1 yen is their "dollar" I remember the guitar was about 126000 yen and he said it was around 1300 or 1500 bucks. If this is the case, then the dollar is worth much more than the Yen, which is what I think is actually true. I'm not entirely sure though.

  • yeah! Luke doing some covert-ops.

  • hey did u get monster hunter 3? can you do an overveiw or somethin?

  • Hey luke could you sell me Battle Stadium D.O.N for ps2? please, please!

  • wow that place is heaven!!!! thanx for posting!

  • Why don't they accept CCs??Heh Suckers!!! Losing a lot of business there from compulsive shoppers.

  • why cant I watch this! It freezes up on me like every three seconds then unfreezes..

  • Thanks for posting another awesome vid luke.

    Keep up the good work!

  • man thanks for the vids...

  • I was just wondering do gamestop still sell n64 games

  • not all mostly all of them stopped selling them around 2005

  • they still have a few at my gamestop

  • i don't think they even sell PS1 game anymore

  • thats dum you cant take a camera in wow its not like your saying bad things about the store

  • Do any of the staff speak english, just wondering if you get any tourists in these stores.

  • this makes gamestop look like shit!

  • i know, right

  • @fruitypebbles904 game stop is king watch your mouth nigger

  • @fruitypebbles904 hey what do you know gamestop IS shit

  • @fruitypebbles904 any game store makes them look like shit

  • @fruitypebbles904 true true true but where i liv da best place to find old and new games for cheap prices is gameworld.

  • @fruitypebbles904 gamestop is shit.

  • why you live in japan?

  • Because they have all the good stuff ;)

  • only cash? wtf thats lame. cool store

  • Hey Luke, how much was the gameboy micro, you remember?

  • Saw Battle Stadium D.O.N., decent rip off.

  • This store makes gamestop look like a yardsale.

  • stores in Japan are alot better than here in the US..

  • they own the nintendo and sony franchise, more to pick from i guess

  • Reminds me of Gamestop for some reason. Don't know why. Cool little video, they don't seem to make there used games down much either.

  • Awesome.

  • thats so cool man

  • its like gamestop in japan! but ALOT better!

  • lol, no kidding. gamestop sucks balls!

  • They do sell here. Just gamestop is too fucking dumb to realize that.

  • That boxed CDZ made me splooge all over my computer screen. *sigh* Time to break out the rubbing alcohol and q-tips.

  • cool store

  • Awesome store, lots of great games there.

  • Phasing out older games to make room for the newer stuff? Sounds like the Japanese equivalent of GameStop. That does suck that they don't accept cards, although I'm sure that if I'm ever in Japan I'd have to check a lot of these stores out.

  • Monster Hunter 3 Poster. 8.1.2009. dang they got it already

  • i want visco in the uk!

  • I demand Viscos to come to the States!

  • I get so jealous when I see you walking around these cool video game related shops in Japan.

  • So cool! I wish we had anything like this in Sweden.

  • They don't have ATM's in Japan? And what kind of store in 2009 doesn't take credit card? What's their reasoning?

  • Wow, what a great store, your soooooooooooooooooooo lucky lol

  • If I would have a store like this near to me, I would be poor ;-D

  • lol

  • Seems like you have more selection there but not that much bargain hunting in Japan.

  • I want a NEO GEO so bad!! hahaha!

  • hell yeah man!

  • another nice video Luke.

  • Too bad that hey didnt take credit cards, man! Thats always annoying when that sort of stuff happen :/

  • thats heaven

  • Hey man, you seem to have some issues with the stores not allowing you to use a camera in their store.

Have you ever considered contacting them and explaining to that they are getting some really good publicity with your videos and ask if it would be ok?

I know that if I ever make it to Japan I'd visit this store and I'm sure it's the same for most of your subscribers.

  • I think it's a cultural thing, man. THey find it impolite, no matter the context, ya know? I'm assuming....

  • Yeah, I suppose that's the reason.

I just know that pretty much every store, regardless of what country they're in, have an issue with people taking recording equipment into their store.

If that is the case then I imagine they'd appreciate someone asking first.

...although that would put him in a difficult position if they said no and he still did it.

    It's a shame though.

  • Now that you mention it, you're right. Usually EVERYONE has a problem with that...can't imagine why that is, tho. A shame it is.....

  • Can I have the adress to Visco?

  • awsome, love these videoes :D

  • I think I remember you filming that store before when you were looking for Wii stuff. A store that sells old and new game stuff sounds AWESOME. :D

  • go 2 mr potato

  • japan has a lot of awesome game stores, I always wanted to visit super potato

  • how odd that they dont take credit cards

  • another awesome video.

  • that store looks like the gates of heaven great video

  • That's great that they have playable displays for so many different consoles.

Whats with the"Best 2", "Best 3", ect. signs? My only guess is they're ordered by best selling or something?

  • Sweet store! Thanks for the vid. :)

  • visco reminds me of play n trade

  • Charming.

  • i just orgasmed all over the place

  • Just out of curiosity and perhaps you have mentioned this before but is this visco game store related to the coin-op company visco games?

  • How come you're not allowed to have a camera in there?

  • Cool video Luke! How can you go to a video game shop and not buy anything ? :)

  • :O fate unlimited codes. you should play that sometime.

  • nice

  • Man, sucks that you couldn't get the neo geo carts. I've been trying to get some games for the neo geo that you sold me. Luckily, I got samurai spirits 1 for $21. Hopefully, I can find more for cheap.

  • you should make or get a hidden camera.

like a hidden cam in a cowboy hat.

  • Is that the Visco near Yamato I used to go there all the time.

  • OOh, nice stuff! You should interview the people there :) Ahh too bad about the game carts ;(
