very sad news. he added so much to any project he was part of.
here al and don are joy squared -- that's alot of joy and that's how i'll remember mister alias.
@ around 5:12 don raises his arm in a gesture of joyful triumph b/c -- i assume -- this is one of those very rare takes that reaches the heights musical artists strive for. it sure seems so.
great show it was. great take. thank you to a great artist: don alias.
The definition of the word "joy" in every dictionary in every language should read, "See Al Green on night Music."
The drumroll leading into Sanborn's great solo that gets Al to exclaim, "Wo" as he dances around with that back up singer during it and after (and who is/was that guy doing backstage with the tamborine?) But the best part is Don Alias' three bongo accent touch @ 4:38 as the credits roll down the screen. Perfection.
luv this

some people just have the magical beauty of music flowing -- pouring -- thru their veins
these two guys sure did/do
and not a bad solo from dave
al took the take way way up there
and sanborn was able to go w/ him
man that was beautiful to hear
(and see i remember watching the show that night too)
merci beau coup for the tube
