you use too much white noise in ur music, keep that shit to a minimum, it may sound cool when u are in the zone making the music, but the audience isn't making it with you and it just sounds annoying. im not trying to be a dick im just trying to give you a helpful tip.

@Specialized1989 actually a good tip, alot of djs tend to do it and it sounds "cool" if it is used correctly to build pressure and then release but the white noise needs to be cut high freqs and the low that just kills other freqs so that it just gives that release of pressure feel and not too massive.

@jarooFLtutor yeah for sure i understand using the noise for a buildup, but it seems like he has it as quite a bit of background noise. Maybe its just me, but its not really my style within electronic music. But i agree with everything you said

@Specialized1989 I keep my white noise in band pass at all times and keep the frequency cut mapped to the same control my send level on that channel. On my send i keep some controlable delay like bionic mix which keeps decent levels of each frequency represented without over crowding the mix as the cut raises through the frequencies. With a separate control for the feedback on the delay in that send you can control the life of the white noise pretty well.

That particular setup is just one i started using inside ableton really as an experiment. It involves at least two audio tracks which would represent the two decks (Ill add more if I have a reason to). Both those feed to one central audio output which I have premade efxs stacked in. I keep some midi loops, the white noise, Ect... in some oher lanes. Just depends what I have been experimenting. with. The apc is just used for launching clips and volume, then i use a Hercules

@gordowolstenholme if you're on pc make sure drivers are installed, if on mac you dont need to worry. Go into ableton preferences and go to the audio section, and set your output to audio 2 dj and make sure both outputs are turned on. Above your master should be an option to select master to one channel and pre-listening to the other (your headphones) hope this helps, anyone let me know if i've missed anything out - I dont have an Audio 2 dj or ableton in front of me right now

its a great device for launching clips but not really when it comes to being a trigger pad. not velocity sensitive and the buttons are quite small. can be a great monome though.
