@walE3dk Only Sanga has done well for SL in the recent past along with Mahela.. These two and Malinga are world class players. Malinga has injury problems and Ajanta Mendis has been sidelined for some reasons, else SL would have been a much better team.. But right now India is the strongest team in the sub-continent followed by Pakistan.

Sad to say but the standard of fast bowling in test in going down because of such lads (retiring from test to play odi and t20s) . If SL had Malinga in test then they would be more tough as opponents. On India I have mixed feeling. Their recent performances were good but were AT HOME only. They were thrashed in Eng. Pak 2nd best in asia after Ind, I agree somewhat.

At their peek, this team can beat Eng in Eng. They only lost 1 test to SA because of pitch conditions in the first match. But for Kallis, India would have won the series handsomely. They should have gone to Eng earlier I reckon.

Yet they have maintained a very good record and some very positive outcomes from the recent series as well. Pak vs Eng will be the real battle, on Neutral venues. Ind vs Aus will test Indians ability to play Away from home. Aus main weakness is that they are not the same side as they were and India's weakness they are playing Away from home. Both series should hopefully be exciting. Cheers

@walE3dk Pak keeps churning bowlers - one after the other. It will still be difficult to replace Amir, Asif and a Shoaib in prime. The batting is still fragile and with the Eng bowlers doing so fell - Anderson, Broad, Tremlett, Finn, Bresnan and others in the pool, it is unlikely that Pak will surprise Eng in Eng. Yes, SA in Eng will be interesting! there is a variety of neutral venues - Sharjah will favour Pakistan more but only recently, AB DeVillers scored 278 against Pak there!!

Amir and Asif , for me, are past and only Pak is the team that can recover from such losses, especially if from the bowling department. I feel that spot-fixing issue had made Pakistan even stronger (mentally). When Pak played S.Africa there, they were over-whelming favourites (SA) but Pak fought hard in ODI's and drew test series, although they lost ODI but result was not expected (2-3).

Well DeVillers 278 went in vain because Pak fought till the end and remeber how they almost chased a nearly impossible target of 454. They batted hole day infront of a very fine bowling attack (Steyn, Morkel and etc). That was unexpected. Then again drew the 2nd test. Eng have an edge but just watch out for Pak, the most unpredictable team in the world.

Shahid Afridi is the hardest hitter of all time. But there are some people who don't agree with this fact. The reason is because he doesn't play long innings. If he starts to play long innings like Gayle or Sehwag then he will become the most dangerous batsman till date. And then no one will doubt on his ability. So I hope Shahid to play like that.

And shewag inspite of his injuries, has made more runs in 40% of matches played by Afridi.
