People are such idiots... I've been reading the comments and it's like people know nothing about this car or any car. Yes, the Mercedes has a massive engine for a RELATIVELY small amount of power compared to the BMW but the torque is where BMW falters. The C63's engine is NOT detuned - Mercedes AMG doesn't use the same parts as for the SLS, E, or any of the other 63 engine series. Also what annoys me is how the 11 year olds are saying how my father can afford this and that, but no one cares.

mercedes need to make very BIG engines to deliver that power.. 6.2L for 450hp thats enormous.. so why do they compare to M3 that has an 4L engine that delivers only 30hp less . Well, C63 has 100 newtons more torque, and brabus versions have even more bhp and torq.
And, stock C63 AMG has very wide torque chart, and i bet that the character of the engine is even better than in BMW. So learn that the numbers don't tell everything.

i love both the c63 and the m3, but keep in mind the engine of the m3 is a very small v8, 4 liters, and it puts out 414 hp, the c63 needs like a huge 6.2 liter to get only like 40 hp more

With torque being equal a high power car will always be faster than a low powered car. Just look at a vtec engine for example. Hardly any torque but lotts of power because of the high engine speed (frequent combustion).
Doesn't matter how much torque your car has, it only tells half of the story. Power tells much more of the story.

I agree to a point. Races are typically run with sustained high RPM's in which case cars with lots of HP, but low torque, would win out. However, in everyday street driving with more frequent use of low RPM's, torque becomes much more important. Of couse, with proper gearing HP will always win out over torque.
Case in-point is the AMG vs M3. Strictly comparing engine numbers, the AMG should trump the M3 handily, but the M3's high RPM and gearing makes the match more more even.
I like both cars also, but just to let you know Mercedes cranks the hp down on the C63, the 6.2 liter engine actually has 518hp, it's the same engine that is in the SL63

Don't be some damn ignorant... the M3's V8 does have a higher hp/displacement but is a much more high-strung and unstable engine. Further, the 6.2 L of the Mercedes is incredibly detuned to decrease wear on all of the drivetrain. Mild tuning packages have put the output over 550 hp with just an ecu reflash and are proven to be just as reliable. Any worthwhile upgrade on the BMW requires forced induction
m3 is for geeks, plus it revs as a modern engine and not some old chevy, benz is for gentleman, there is no fuckin other way to feel as a gentleman and stil be fast than buying a benz.

C63 AMG is good but it can never be as good as an M3. Why? cuz M3 is good as a whole package while C63 in some places outshines while in other it fails.
In a straight line C63 can easily beat the M3 but in twisty curvy roads, M3 is known as one of the best. Most of the professional drivers chose the M3 as the real drivers car. Even though my heart goes for C63 but I am sure that M3 will be a better package for any one.
I think I'd take as well. I don't care about track performance and I love the fact that you can get T version :D And it's much comfier than a BMW. +if you car about track performance aftermarket limited slip diff is available, so it would go around track nicely as well.

the m3 is very comparable to the c 63, both have about 420 hp, and trust me, you can tune an m3 to rape the shit out of a c 63, adding a good turbo you can add about 480 hp and upwards easy

Don't be some damn ignorant... the M3's V8 does have a higher hp/displacement but is a much more high-strung and unstable engine. Further, the 6.2 L of the Mercedes is incredibly detuned to decrease wear on all of the drivetrain. Mild tuning packages have put the output over 550 hp with just an ecu reflash and are proven to be just as reliable. Any worthwhile upgrade on the BMW requires forced induction

It's only good in a straight line, like all AMG's. Huge engines, no driving enjoyment. M3s routinely murder C63s round tracks because the C63 can't corner. It's all academic anyway with Nissan killing everyone now, and the Chrysler CTSv is faster than the speed of light apparently.

C63 AMG is good but it can never be as good as an M3. Why? cuz M3 is good as a whole package while C63 in some places outshines while in other it fails.
In a straight line C63 can easily beat the M3 but in twisty curvy roads, M3 is known as one of the best. Most of the professional drivers chose the M3 as the real drivers car. Even though my heart goes for C63 but I am sure that M3 will be a better package for any one.

I think I'd take as well. I don't care about track performance and I love the fact that you can get T version :D And it's much comfier than a BMW. +if you car about track performance aftermarket limited slip diff is available, so it would go around track nicely as well.

no it doesn't you idiot. your S-class has an automatic with "manual" mode. the "manual" mode is just like the regular mode except you tell it when to shift (but it still shifts for you). it still has a torque converter, which means it's an automatic. a manual has three pedals and a stick shift. know your shit before you start calling people idiots.

Meh. On American roads, where you can't go too fast for too long without getting pulled over - all that instant torque is instant fun at speeds that won't toast your license. If I lived somplace where you could see triple digits all the time (re: German Autoban) and had like, those roads going over the Alps not too far away, yeah, sure, why not get an BMW M3. But here in the US? Listen to that exhaust note - and realize you spend most of your time under 70 mph - where the Benz is teh moar fun.
