I honestly thought Jeff Buckley did this. Even still I like both now that I've found this out. When Buckley sings very sexy I get chills. It's a sexy song.
I am playing drums on this version and Dan Smith (Shafer) is playing bass... and guess who on guitar... JEFF BUCKLEY. Me and Dan had to sue Inger Lorre because she didn't credit us for our tracks and gave credit to someone else. Have any questions let me know.
I mean...you know...the part about playing drums on this version...not the part where you had to sue her...that was probably a difficult time for you.. :/
It's an amazing song...it was actually surprising for me to learn that so many people don't know about Inger Lorre or The Nymphs (or this song); even avid fans of 90's music. It's really awesome that you got to be part of this :)
@bobbybobbinson - we recorded the drums, bass, and some guitar tracks with Inger and Jeff Buckley (and the bassist from Shirk Circus - I'm the drummer). Inger released a bunch of the tracks a couple years or so later and credited the bandmembers she was with at that time. We ended up getting some money from her to use our performances. This was around 1997 or 1998.
He was not on this song from what I can remember. This was recorded with Jeff Buckley on the guitar tracks (even Dan did a rhythm acoustic 12 string track on "Sweet Release"). I believe this was recorded circa Sept. / Oct. 1996. Josh was on hiatus from the project at the time. Shirk Circus (Josh, Dan, and me) backed Inger beginning around spring 1995 - Feb. 1997. On July 6, 1996 we opened for the Buzzcocks at Irving Plaza, NYC and played some Circle Jerks songs with Keith Morris on vocals.
Actually the song was written by Audrey Clark and Lori Kramer of the Pendulum Floors. Inger Lorre contributed vox to it. She also sang on the Jeff Buckley version. Nonetheless, I like her version too.
Song was written by The Pendulum Floors. Lorre covered it and contributed the 2nd verse lyrics, which were written about Jeff Buckley.

In which album is the original version of the song (it should be by Audrey Clark, Lori Kramer, Inger Lorre)?

Yes, that was horrible getting involved with suing. The playing was great. Especially playing with Jeff Buckley! Thanks for your comments!

I'm not surprised... I wonder what other material we were playing was ripped off or derivative.

This song is so damn sexy and kinda innocent & pure at the same time. I love Inge's version, and Jeff's cover as well.
