Disneyland 1967 - The "New" Tomorrowland, the Skyway and 360 Degrees of Main Street, USA

I miss the old Disneyland . I hate the new look and even the shopping sucks all they sell are pins. I miss how each store had a theme and was different and had different merchandise it seems now you go in one store you seen them all. Who ever made these changes needs to get fired. I went there recently and I was disapointed and the food was overpriced $4.00 for one ice cream sandwich

A lot of good footage. How I miss the PeopleMover! I'm surprised how in a couple shots there are 2 PeopleMover trains really close together. While I wasn't born until 1981 (holy crap! I'm 30!), I think the 1967 Tomorrowland is still the best version.

Wow - it's SO weird seeing cars at the front of DL. I have only ever been since they built DCA and it just seems strange that you could drive right up. If you were there first thing in the morning you could almost have your car at the front gates!!! TOO weird!!!

Great video. I lived in Costa Mesa back then and was at DL about every two weeks in 1967. I've posted one of our 8mm home movies here as well but not nearly as well digitized as yours.

@jrkelm Thanks! I don't regret spending the extra money to have a professional film lab do the transfer. Debenham Media Group in Pennsylvania did an excellent job.

this video makes me wish i could step into my computer screen and be there again. i'm guessing that's you,disneytim, walking with mom and big sis. that's about what i looked like in 1967. such a great time to be a kid at disneyland. so many fun attractions that are now gone. the '67 tomorrowland was the best ever. loved eating tuna sandwiches at the pirate ship. carousel of progress, adventure thru inner space,the old '67 autopia cars. it just isn't the same anymore. i want a RETROdisneyland!!!

With out the Wedway Peoplemover, Rocket Jets, and the Skyway Gondola Tomorrowland seems a little less in operative and productive.

they should have left the rocket jet on top of the station and remake it into Astro oribiter instead of moving it down. In WDW they still have theres on top of their peoplemover station which they calls it Transit authority.

I hate Tomorrowland as it exists today. They really screwed it up by taking something so great and turning it into something inferior.

Tomorrowland is slowly getting better, but it was definally better back than. The 1998 revision really screwed Tomorrowland for a long time.

I hope that they know what they are doing in the next revision. Star Tours 2 seems like a good starting move for the next revision. Hope that Star Tours 2 dosn't get messed up like Tomorrowland in 1998.

I hard there going to work on Tommarowland after they get the star Tour 2 going there going to do the People Mover V3, they'll take out the vase of the Rocketjet, and Move the Aestro Oribiter on the roof top of the PM Station.
