So, the water you are using is just H2O? I mean, do you use a certain type water or do you poor something in it? Or how come does the polish spread so well?
@Paintballshitify Are you using room temperature filtered water? Also keep in mind that not all polish works - the brand doesn't really matter but every color is different in the water & it just takes a lot of trial & error to find the ones that work well. You want one with good pigmentation, maybe a little on the thick side but thin enough to drip & above all slow-drying. HTH =)
hey, i absolutely LOVE how u do ur water marbles, Im just starting to get really into nail design and I tried to use the water marble design but i havent had good luck. does it have to be like a dixie cup cause Ive been using a container bowl thingy but its in a circle shape and it never works &ive been using a toothpick to try and do the design but it never turns out ok, am i needing to invest in an actual orange stick and dixie cups?also how did u tape ur nails to keep the polish off ur finger
@alwaysrememberme2008 the container doesn't matter too much, but polish does seem to spread better in a small cup than a large bowl. Also are you using room temperature filtered water? There is a taping tutorial in my tips & tricks playlist =)
@btrlover0418 I keep my nails moisturized, lots of lotion & cuticle oil & I also take a biotin supplement – check out my Nail Maintenance vid in the Tips & Trick playlist for my full routine. I do occasionally get a tear or break but you can check out my tutorial on silk wrap patching for how I save those nails =) I do "Naked Nails" posts on my blog every month or so where I talk more about like all the specific products I'm currently using.
@svhien yes - polish will not spread as well. in cold water. You can check out my water comparison under the Tips & Tricks playlist in the information box to see the difference =)
Just wanted to let you know: I tried this, and my nails turned out awesome the first try. @MariaLovesDegrassi1D remover can be a short term fix but I really don't suggest it - remover isn't good to use because it breaks polish down, I recommend real polish thinner because it actually replaces what's dried out =)
@MariaLovesDegrassi1D did you got your answer because it was like one month ago anad i want to see because i have a quastion to im girl ok this is my brothers eamil you cuold still talk to me on hotmail.com bye and i sure to god im a girl
just a tip ive found out, instead of using tape, you can use lip balm or paw paw cream or it simply wipes off your finger, it'd give you more room to move with too. :) but make sure you do it to atleast your first knuckle so you dont get it on the skin without it, your nails look so good!
@alexisbeadman It's been on my to-do list for a while now to do a comparison between taping & lotion or vaseline/chapstick etc, but I haven't gotten around to it yet. Aside from the fact that it seems like it would be very messy, several viewers have told me that they can leave a residue in the water that makes it harder to do the next designs, which is why I've stuck with tape so far =)
@quiggldskates123 I don't usually recommend more than 2 or 3 fingers at once - just be sure they hit the surface of the water & the design at the same time =)
Is there certain polishes that work better than others? We had a problem with the polish drying so fast that when we tried to drag the stick thru, the polish stuck to it and it was hard to do the design. Also, some polishes wouldn't hardly spread.
@renee52594 yes - the brand doesn't really matter but every color is different in the water & it just takes a lot of trial & error to find the ones that work well. You want one with good pigmentation, maybe a little on the thick side but thin enough to drip & above all slow-drying. HTH =)

@jaylene123100 an orange stick is a wooden manicure tool, basically a long pointy stick like a big toothpick – you can use anything with a fine point =)
@Fashion3303 well, I'd suggest going with something in your favorite color - obviously you don't want to be doing your nails ON your bday, but you also don't want it to chip - so I'd say a day or 2 before =)
I've tried and tried, the nailpolish does´nt float out like it does for you...:S Is it something wrong with the water or the nailpolish? i suggest the nailpolish can´t be too thick. You make awesome tutorials!

@SimpleLittlePleasues Thanks for your answer! Yes, I use ordinary room-temperature water from the tap. @Cruellty it does use more than a normal manicure, but it's worth it =) & I have plenty to spare LOL - but if you are concerned, depending on the design you are going for you can dip 2 or 3 fingers at a time to save polish, also some designs use fewer drops

does it matter what the water temperature is?
MsCruiseGirl 6 months ago
@MsCruiseGirl yes - I always use room temperature filtered water. polish will not spread as well in cold water – you can check out my water comparison under the Tips & Tricks playlist in the information box to see the difference =)

is there a specific number of rings that you have to have or do you just do it until it looks right?
seductivecouch 6 months ago
@seductivecouch it just depends on the design - I've done as few as 5 & as many as 15 =)

I have to cut my nails really short for art class, any tips on doing this for short nails?
EmilyMadison1996 6 months ago
@EmilyMadison1996 if you have short nails you just get less of the design, so it's very important where you dip your nail - check out my short nails marble with my mom for hand model for some tips =)
