  • Haha its funny how everyone cares more about APC in the background but its still pretty sick

  • now off to listen to thomas! sorry trent!

  • Comment removed

  • lol thomas is all i can focus on besides his interview

  • APC toured with NIN!??? where the hell was i??? dammit!

  • he looks so energetic here!!!

  • THOMAS!!!! BACKGROUND!!!!!

  • background song is APC , terrific!

  • The song is Thomas by A Perfect Circle, 100%

  • @mun1ch01 Cool! A Perfect Circle toured with NIN? That amazing!

  • The song is Thomas by A Perfect Circle, 100%

  • ugh....I love his voice...I could listen to it all day. Oh wait I do...

  • i care n thats jus odd

  • I want to look like that

  • trent is awesome he's a very nice guy

  • lol a perfect circle in the background... love em both :)

  • man, I miss NIN, I really wish they would go back to being a band again and doing tours, sucks they stopped touring!

  • @adamchabbi6 Its only Trent.

  • @adamchabbi6 I certainly love NIN (I could never narrow down "My Favorite Band" but NIN/TR is certainly in my Top 5) but I'm happy to know that Trent hasn't left music (How To Destroy Angels EP & upcoming full-length, "The Social Network" soundtrack and other projects) that there's still *very cool* NIN material that will be released... aka "The Fragile" Deluxe Edition.

...but give the man a break: he recorded & toured pretty relentlessly for a full 20 years. Let him enjoy married life... ;-)

  • Tool playing in the background

  • @stewhouston it's a perfect circle ;)

  • He was so inspirational.

  • Comment removed

  • trent reznor is the man......if your complaining about his eyeshadow you must not be a real fan...cause honestly this guys done a lot worse than just throw on some eye shadow. back in the real nin days he was dredlocked with fishnets, leather booty shorts and some shit kicker boots. but he fucken owned that shit and stuck to his guns. trent is trent. i'm not looking to bang the dude i just like his music so i don't give a shit what he wears.

  • you can hear A Perfect Circle performing in the background

  • @LeviathanoftheDanube I think you're right! Magdalena,perhaps? Love APC...

  • @RabidKyuubi It sounds like orestes, i could be wrong

  • @rickyrdavenport it's magdalena

  • WHY is this guy wearing eye-shadow!?!?

  • @Xshiiitbag1222X why such a stupid question?

  • @Xshiiitbag1222X

cuz hes a rockstar about to go on stage, almost all of them wear makeup. Moron.

  • @Svperstarr NO. COCK-ROCK musicians, goths and black metal artist only. NIN is like what Ogre of Skinny Puppy said. "Cock Rock", without the spandex. Trent was a whiny bitch, and Marliyn Manson was a total poser who was just in it for the money and shock fame.

  • @Xshiiitbag1222X Fuck. You. You are right about Marilyn though.

  • @Xshiiitbag1222X Cock Rock isn't about make-up, it's about, cocks.

  • @Xshiiitbag1222X what is shock fame? and im pretty sure manson was in it cuz thats what he wanted to do with his life/for fun. i think he wanted to make a difference.

in his own words, he did it cuz there was nothing out there like him and and he wanted to bring something like what he did into the world. not for fucking money, that guy coulda made money doing anything he wanted, he was mad smart. go drop some shrooms or acid and put on antichrist superstar, and tell me its not an amazing album

  • @xpurity666 You're retarded as shit, don't comment back and don't ask why i think that because the answers are oh so obvious.

  • @Xshiiitbag1222X because he can do whatever he wants. Ask the ladies if they mind that he wears eye shadow

  • haha awesome you can hear A Perfect Circle and Maynard singing in the background - my friend got to see this tour in California (so fucking jealous)

  • @LeviathanoftheDanube

haha yeah i noticed that too. Thats funny.

  • Married? Good for him I hope, sux for all of us who don't like to think of him with another female cause we covet him so.

  • did u guys hear that trent got married

  • @skateNappreciate

No, I didn't. And I'd like not to think about it now that I know it.

  • @skateNappreciate

    yeah,the last october,i can't imagine trent engaged to someone strangely,and even more i can't imagine him having a child,but if he's happy i'm happy :)

  • A Perfect Circle!

  • lol apc is playing

  • there where the whole interview on youtube... and where is it now?!

  • Trent Reznor(Most Creative Musician ever) & Maynard James Keenan(philosofic feeling)!!!

  • it's cool to hear a perfect circle in the background ... that would have been a good double act NIN and APC.... Reznor and MJK should make music together too bad the whole tapeworm thing didn't happen ... if i had to create my own band it would consist of

    - TR

    -MJK

    -Tori Amos

    -Billy Howerdel

    -Danny Lohner

    -Josh freese

    -Josh Homme (maybe)

    does anyone disagree or agree

  • dunno about tori amos. Maybe James Iha. Ahhhh, whats his face, the synth guy from Gravity Kills.....that guy too. I'd say if you wanna throw in female vocals, the chick from portishead is a good one (i'm bad with names....it is my curse) I like your picks though. just giving what I'd change.

  • i just figured tori Amos had done stuff with both Reznor and Keenan .... yeah James Iha would be good but then you would have to get rid of Homme .... Wes Borland i always thought was good (obviously separate from limp biscuit - who are not so good) Ryan Martinie the bassist from mudvayne and josh eustis (i think that is his name) from telefon tel aviv .... eddie vedder and kurt (if he was still alive) and maybe thom yorke but probably no one would like him

  • The thing with "super groups" is that they don't really work. Because in the end you can only have one or two really driving egos in a band and that kind of person needs to be surrounded by competent musicians who understand their vision but don't necessarily have an agenda of their own.

  • but we can always dream

  • I think Them Crooked Vultures should work though. All three of those guys are good friends who can put their egos aside. Well, I don't think John Paul Jones would have one really

  • stuball12, NIN and APC toured together right when Mer de Noms released, actually. I saw them together in New Orleans.

  • sorta agree... too many big heads to work in the same room though

  • The have played together. Saw perfect circle open for NIN back in 2000 at the gorge outdoor ampitheater in Washington. One of the best shows I ever went to.

  • I disagree D:

you missed out Gary Numan! He's like...a god D:

  • which year was this ? post 2000 >

  • APC playing in the background...playing "thomas"

  • "This is why I do this..." that made my day.

    =)

    He is so down-to-earth.

  • lal apc thomas at the end

  • i dont really ever want to know what goes through trents head ill just enjoy his music

  • his music IS what goes through his head. that's why it's good...it's honest

  • @tararep the earlier stuff was. The later material was giving the people what they wanted.

  • Comment removed

  • he's actually a very shy person.

  • Ooooohhh! lol!

  • Not really, he's just a pretty humble guy. If you'll notice, he's talking like a human being and not like a pompous-ass celebrity.

  • we love you Trent XD

  • impossible for something like NIN to "lose it" they know what theyre doing and do it for its own sake. it just gets lost on boobs.

  • So because the music isn't repetitive(which it would be if they just did the same as the last album) and because some songs are not as up-tempo they have "lost it"? never heard so much nonsense. If you dont like it thats your opinions, but to state the reasons you have for not liking the stuff now doesn't hold any water.

  • First of all don't get mad at me because I happen to have a diferent opinion I respect your opinion so please respect mine. Anyways what I really meant is not that Trent is horrible because his music doesn't sound heavy, fast and repetitive like his older albums. Its just that today's NIN's doesn't sound as how I would expect NIN to sound like. Lets just say today's NIN doesn't capture my taste and attention as much as the older NIN.

  • Its hard to explain but today's NIN isn't something I'll expect of NIN to sound like. (Its not bad) But not as good as the old. They just sound more safe, accessible, and maintream similiar to today's music for some odd reason. Which is the last thing I'll expect of Trent and NIN. Anyways Trent and NIN is still good but not as badass, edgy, gloomy, artistic, as the past but good. OKAY happy now one positve comment.

  • It's different, yes.

    Safe, accessible, mainstream? No.

The alternate reality game that went along with Year Zero is unlike anything I've heard of ANY band doing before... nothing on that scale/scope. It's not safe, accessible and mainstream by any stretch... it's just different.

Top 40 is safe, accessible and mainstream. NIN is not a staple in top 40.

Dig deeper into the music and you'll see there's a lot more going on there than you think - it's still the NIN you used to love :)

  • You know what I guess you could be kinda right. Because I was at a surf store the other day and almost every rock mainstream song that was played there sounded similiar and some of the customers and co-workers there were bouncing their head and singing along to it. But when NIN's Capital G came on from "Year Zero" nobody in the store but myself was lip syncing and bouncing my head to the song. :) At the same time I was a bit surprise but at the same time I wasn't.

  • And in a way its a good thing that it was put out that way. Then it came to my mind that NIN will always be NIN and I was like, fuck yeah!! :)

  • Now don't get upset at me because I wrote all this its just my opinion, respect my opinion and I'll respect yours. OKAY! Peace.

  • This was the Trent Reznor that was still in his prime. Today's Trent is kinda changing and somewhat going kinda downhill. (no offense to you sensitive Trent fans) :(

  • yup, Trent is probably gunna quit... doesnt have drugs, and doesnt have Bush, wtf is he gunna sing about?

  • Ha ha! Exactly. I mean don't get me wrong I was a die hard NIN fan. But lately Trent's music is just not in tune to the true NIN sound. Well its hard to explain. But I don't know if you heard The Slip lately but it doesn't sound as great as I thought it'll sound. It sounded like he just did a quick put together and recording and release it out ASAP which sounded pretty sloppy. And that goes for the same as Year Zero.

  • first off.

He can sing about a lot of things

    second.

Not all his songs are about drugs and bush.

he doesnt even say meanings of his songs. trent lets people interpret songs so you may think its drugs or bush but its probably something else.

i think trent is as good as he ever was. hes got many things in his head so you never know

  • I guess so. But today's Trent and NIN is not as interesting, controversial, and edgy as the Fragile/Downward Spiral era. His new style and materail is getting kind of boring, he's slowing down.. And that goes for the same as Depeche Mode. They use to be awesome until the 2005 or 2006 album came out and they just slowed down. But I can understand the 2 artist of slowing down because of their age and also because they have to heal like what Maynard James Keenan said in one of his

  • more recent interviews.

  • In what way do you think he's going downhill? Dont know about anyone else but i thought Ghosts and The Slip were fantastic. Infact, in my opinion all his efforts all the way from Pretty Hate Machine have been awesome. The man truly is a musical genius.

  • Well in all due respect to Trent and NIN I don't personally mean downhill like he's lost his talent and he sucks. I will always respect Trent and NIN because he made one of the best music that changed my life. But lately his music has not really caught my taste and attention like his past albums. I have every album and halo, remixes of his including Year Zero and unfortunately Year Zero was sort of a disappointment to me. And that led me to not buy The Slip and Ghost.

  • Comment removed

  • I've also heard a preview of The Slip and Ghost and was not very please with the sound. The Slip was okay. Ghost I have to give it another hear becasue I was so disappointed by Year zero I didn't really bother to listen to it fully. Anyway as for Year Zero it doesn't really sound like NIN anymore it sounds almost like a different band except for the song Survivalism and the first 2 songs the rest sounds like random sounds and noises right out of a drum machine with Trent singing over to it

  • Well thing is obviously his music s evolving with him as he gets older so NIN won't sound the same ALL the time. I understand your opinion, personally i love it all myself but that's why he's not so "edgy" obviously. Trent himself isn't as edgy of a person anymore because of loss of drugs and all that. I think it's good though because at least we're not listening to the same thing over and over. you have to try new styles and things. Thats what NIN is all about

  • Fucking TERRIBLE quality.

  • is that "a perfect circle" in the background?

  • i think so...sounds like the end of Thomas

  • mmmm it might be pilgrimage by nine inch nails. hard to tell.

  • It is

  • APC did their first tour ever opening for NIN on the fragile tour

  • yeah a friend of mine saw a show during that tour. lucky fuck.

  • trent loves his fans

  • ha. a perfect circle is playing in the back ground

  • goodd ears

  • He was -really- hot around this time ... must have been the makeup. XD

Regardless of his looks, he's amazingly smart and talented too. I can't wait to see NIN in November (finally)!

  • in ohio, right? i'll be there

  • Hell yeah. Super hot, and extremely intelligent, nonetheless.

I saw them in Columbus, the 3rd show of that tour, in 2000. Both bands were amazing. Best show ever!!!

  • Where is the rest of this interview do you know?

  • gotta love APC in the background. if they toured together again, I would die! awesome!

  • Yep... Europe loves NIN. LEt's hope that they come back soon...

  • Trent is serously cool NIИ rulez !

  • Trent will always be hot, because no matter what he looks like, he will always be the man behind some of the most amazing music of the modern world

  • ..we could never stop caring.

  • broken bruised forgotten sore

    ^_^

  • too fucked up to care anymore!

  • omfg with APC in the background. orgasm

  • agreed!

  • When they opened with Somewhat Damaged @ Verizon Wireless Virginia Beach in '06 I was absolutely amazed and that so many that filled the amphitheater who sang along to most of his songs. I would give my left nut to have the musical prowess that Trent has.

  • seriously? i'd give all three of mine!

  • he look beautiful here..I miss young trent

  • ha he sounds dfferent from his Year Zero interview

guess its cuz hes younger, hes lot better lookin in this one :P

  • But now he's buff.

  • Haha, I know, how did that happen?

  • I guess he kicked the drugs for a few dates to the gym. Or by the looks of it maybe he spent weeks at a time in the gym. XD

  • he has a band. The members of his band plays his instruments, I mean, he creates all music, but plays it other people, and he just sings

  • when he's writing, he does "sampling" and when he goes live, he assembles a band to play his music.

  • he is a handsome and gifted man back then and today

  • I love that you can hear Maynard in the background :)

  • lol yeah... where was this?

  • i totally hear reznor in this one... having a band, playing live, and hearing people in the audience singing your songs along with you, it's such a rush, such a high... I forgot that's why i do this too...

  • Trent. . .

*fangirl drool* He was so hot then!

  • then? HE IS STILL HOT! Age has not done him wrong!

  • I know! He IS still hot!

I just like his Closure Era look.

  • Yeah me too. I loved it when his hair was long.

  • He's still hot.

  • a perfect circle in the background during the fragile tour back in 2000 right?

  • Yeah it sounds like Thomas

  • Why did I miss this tour *pounding the floor* ??????

  • i desire him...

  • Tool live in the background hes at the concert.

  • It's A perfect Circle they opened up for NIN way back. But yea it is badass.

  • yeah he is!!!Damn I love him!!!

    Pure sexy hot!!!!

And he have such a hot voice

  • God he's so hot..

  • He looks gorgeous here! I wonder if there's a longer, better quality version of this somewhere.

  • the shorter his hair gets the more time passes by...

he should write a song about that...

  • LOL...I second that. hilarious.

  • APC opening up for NIN, not long after the release of Mer de Noms. I can't imagine anything better.

  • Perfect is probably a better word.

  • a perfect circle estaba de tour con nin

  • is that maynard james keenan in the background?

  • yeah dude it is a perfect circle song i was thinkin the same thing

  • sounds like he's nailing it live, too

  • somewhat damaged

  • What a great fucking tour!!!!!!!!! The only show that was as good is Tool's Lateralus tour back in 01' NOTHING HAS TOPPED THEM SINCE!!! sad :(

  • Fragility 2.0 tour - nine inch nails & APC - the song you hear in the background is "Thomas" from Mer de Noms.

  • APC in the background????!!?!??!!

  • OMG i think it is!!!

  • When was this?

  • Well Somewhat Damaged is on the Fragile Album so it must be on tour for fragile Im geussing.

  • you can tell by the hair. lol. the fragility tour.

  • lol, you can tell whatever era it is from his hair, lmao!

  • I like the face he makes around 0:31

    He's such a cutie here.

  • Can't really make him out here. Everything is black except the walls and his ghost white skin. Was he still a junkie here or sober, cuz he seems a bit sad, but that is part of the image. What yr is this from?

  • where did part 2 of this interview go?

  • a perfect backround song

  • TRENT 16

  • I sadly used to watch this video constantly, I know every word. That makes me sad but ya know, I have a life now.

  • I think its important you've addressed your issues and have worked to overcome them, LOL. :)

  • HAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHAAHAHAAHA i love ur comment. made me shit my pants laughing lol.reminds me of me.
