The first thing all of the girls want to know, once Batman drives up in his Batmobile, is the whereabouts of Robin. Robin is a real heartthrob amongst the teenagers. And he's not too shabby when he's Dick Grayson, either. Yowza!
What Robin's in high school? How can he keep missing so much time from classes without drawing suspicion? I thought he was in college in this series?
How did they make the leap to the Joker anyway I agree with others my guess would be the Riddler, some hidden riddle dealing with milk and coins or dollars... something like "When is a bottle of milk really a silver dollar?"
this one's my dad's faviourite episode. he was sad when they cancelled the show and then the re-runs. so i bought a cord that plugs from my laptop to the tv so he can watch them again.
it is funny it shows you the writing for all of the Joker characters were a sign of the times. All of them were great, but i think the writting is the biggest difference
Romero - Shakespereian (more theatrical)
Nicholson - More serious, stilll had a sense of humor
Ledger - Very dark, not as giddy/clowny as the others but probably most devious
If I remember correctly, the show ALWAYSA ended in cliffhangers and continued on from there. The narrator also did a lot more explaining of the characters than usual. Is this the first episode?
No! The first ever episode was with The Riddler called: "Hey Diddle Riddle" and ended with the second episode: "Smack in the Middle". The Joker's first appearance was in the episodes: "The Joker is Wild" and "Batman is Riled".
The episode we're watching now is episode 15 of the series
Soon as I see the cheerleaders in the first few seconds with the big red R on there uniforms I instantly think of team rocket! I mean the rest of there uniform is even white as well!
All there missing is boots, gloves, and insane hair
How does one make the leap from milk machines that spit out silver dollars to the Joker? It could have been anyone, Riddler, Catwoman, Penguin... hell, if audiences weren't so squeamish back then my first guess would have been Two-Face.
Yes, Two-Face debuted in 1942. I read on another videos board that Two-Face was considered for the show and was going to be played by CLint Eastwood, but it was decided he would have been to gruesome.
I know really. Tampering with a vending machine doesn’t exactly scream “The Joker”; in fact if it wasn’t for ‘The Joker’s’ name in the title of this episode, I never would have suspected him to be the culprit.

Batman was a lot less badass back then, nowadays no one would know he was at the school until hours after he left

In the first scene, with the 3 cheerleaders, the one in the middle is Nova from the Planet of the Apes movie.

Funny how they ask Bruce to run for mayor, and in The Batman cartoon Adam West is the voice of the mayor.

i concur. But, was two-face a villain by this episode?
