  • @snipski0894 cheese und crackers you are vright!!!

  • dear santa....

  • This i the gun that Chuck Norris holds in his hands when he sucks my dick.

  • thats what chuck norris would use if he played call of duty

  • FUUUUUUCK !

  • USA

  • @peace10000able Silly, halfwit American. Its a German weapon system on a Danish naval vessel.

  • @snipski0894 Even better. It's Swiss weapon system.

  • @krbosak its a german one!!!

  • @peace10000able Hahaha you stupid selfish cunt...

  • I want one.

  • I like how he's not taking a photo.

  • bye bye seagulls lolol

  • german stile

  • Wasted money never to be used in combat...

  • Chuck Norris cum shot.

  • Och,

  • where is your god now?

  • I counted four cameras.

  • Cannon has the big body to hold up pretty much. 76 mm caliber. 35mm is the caliber and least for 76mm. The 35mm takes up less space inside the cannon. facilitating faster shots ..

  • rapid!

  • WOAH!!!

  • What are you guys blabbering about whether this is German or Swiss ??? The Chinese have already copied it !!! Duh !!! lol

  • funny how everyone is discussing if its german or swiss

    its a german swiss coproduction

  • i wanna marry it!!!

  • @SuperAaaaa123456

I now pronounce you Man and Gun

  • Oerlikon makes good AA-guns.

My country used them during WWII and we took down 3/4th of the fallschirmjäger airfleet.

  • @Kdssow

oerlikon is a swiss company and has builded for the nazis how can your county have used them?

  • @MyMMC Oerlikon was making guns since WWI.

We bought a few hundreds of them.

  • @Kdssow

    aaaahh k...

  • The navy has the coolest guns!

  • oerlikon? swiss tech :D

  • @Panz82

    Rheinmetall = Germany.

  • @Countach187 oerlikon is a swiss city close to Zurich........ and there they produce AA weapons and others....

  • @Panz82

In started in swiss but it was fully finished in germany by rheinmetall because they re-engineered it and made it better. Even the design it's german. Want to tell me you guys even copied the Rheinmetall-Desigin? it's called FlaWaSys Mantis by them. Germany build so many great weapon systems, if it makes you happy keep thinking it's swiss.

  • i just clicked on this video. and didnt know what to exspect. looked like a gun from starwars...started shooting i was like WTF IS THAT!!! jeeeeezzz thats awesome

  • Battlefield 2142!

  • @Migs4000 :D

  • curious how its cooled

  • how big does the turret need to be for a 35mm mini gun?

  • Take that, Ocean!

  • Take that somali pirates!

  • made in germany

  • HOPP SCHWIIZ

  • Fuck yeah! swiss Power!

  • it only has 35mm rounds not very much bigger than the grenade launcher in the m203

  • @USAmilitarypower True, but these rounds travel at over 1000 fps and an M203 travels at 250....Not trying to instigate, but its safe to say this packs a punch.

  • @Trypanosomacruzii that is true

  • @USAmilitarypower Go to bed boy.

  • @stig5057 no you fucking stupid ass you don't tell an American what to do!!!!!!! (even if you are American)

  • This looks like it should be mounted on Darth Vader's star destroyer.

  • Shut up fag

  • Is this a brother of the Oerlikon mounted on a german Gepard? If it is, fuck of with the toy of A-10! The A-10 is only good against T-54 Tanks Like in Iraq. Against modern AA-Systems the Warthog has no chance, that's why the US won't use them in the Future. Warthog was good in the old days, but is out of date.

Besides, who is so stupid to compare a air-ground gun to a air-air gun? AA-guns have much higher velocity projectiles...

  • @SHIZZLOR air-air guns?

    maybe you mean anti-aircraft guns

or air to air weapons (namely, rockets and missiles)

but seriously, what is an air-ground gun?

  • @SHIZZLOR Rightttt you go ahead and believe that. I guess all those hard points under the A10 just escaped your notice? They mount nifty things like AGM-65 Mavericks. I've seen video of an A10 firing it's 30MM GAU in a 1 second burst and lifting a T72 off the ground when it came back down, it was a foot shorter. The GAU is in one word DEVASTATING. Also, there are no plans to retire the A10, it's being modernized under the A-10 Precision Engagement Modification Program.

  • @SHIZZLOR You also have to remember that this gun is a very short range weapon. If you watch some of the other videos of this gun, you'll see just how short it's range really is. A10 would have a field day with this.

  • @skraf883 well as you might have not noticed, this gun is intended as CIWS. So in this case if a A10 had any reason to attak this vessle, it would encounter enother American product. It's called the RIM-7. And i seriously doubt that that GAU-8 would be effective over 19km. By the way, the max range for the GAU is one mile. And the effective range of the oerlikon is 3.5km. Then if you consider the usage of missiles thats where the millenium comes into play. Absalon is a complete weapon system.

  • @ballerhobbit and as you may have noticed, my message was in response to someone that was saying that the A10 was outdated and would not be effective against the tank based version of this weapon system. And the range on the Maverick missile is 28km.. allowing the A10 to launch well outside the range of the sea sparrow.

  • The question is... WILL IT BLEND?!?!??

  • Sure shoots alot... But it can hit zee target, no?

  • @hwoods01 dum-bum

  • does that kill?

  • @barbarotico Yes. Yes it does.

  • MUAHAHAHAHAHAHHA - aweomse :)

  • OOOHH myyy

Yes this would be awesome during the nazi zombie apocalypse

  • .Not to mention the fact that it's target acquisition and tracking

systems is newer and far more capable.

I have seen the phalanx gun in action and i'm not particular impressed .

It also seems to be virtually useless against surface targets .

  • '

one gun on the turret is not enough,,,

better use twin guns on the turret is the best

  • I feel sorry for those guys with the cameras on the Bow

  • gay sound

  • 35mm minigun type thing? Cool

  • @CMDRFandragon no, single barrel, with rotating revolving type breach

  • это хуета по сравнению с тульским дуэтом )

  • Those days am glad to be swiss!

  • @SpenzOT

Your hearing is correct, if you listen really close you'll even hear the little daemons inside shouting obscenities at the target, that's actually the way they take down threats. Daemon speak supersonic, of course. Don't get too close or your ears start bleeding. True story.

  • @bonham1981 True

  • @bonham1981 Excuse sir do you speak spanish please

  • @bonham1981 They use daemons for shells?! Wow! That sounds almost as good as Xtreme Rabid Badger Rounds! They use laboratory grade badgers that are 99.9% pure, and 100% insane with rabies.

  • Millenium Gun vs. GAU8 = no realistic comparison.

This is a highly accurate revolver cannon with a high rate of fire and programmable ammo for defense purposes.

The Avenger has medium dispersion made for tank hunting, an offense weapon, totally inefficient vs. projectiles or missiles. A high rate of fire is needed because the aircraft closes fast on the target.

  • hey, does that stuff kill?

  • Eat lead seagull!

  • the laughing in the background is hilarious!^^

  • so thats where chuck norris's stolen bb gun went!

  • @THEFATHEADEDFREAK *cap gun

  • That would be useful for pheasant hunting.

  • It is a big gun mount for a 35mm.

  • woooh shit...

  • I want one of thees mounted on my VW Vento ;-)))

  • I live in a city called oerlikon lol its in switzerland and now I find this^^

  • too bad it overheats 7 times faster compared to the 7barreled 30mm gau8 avenger cannon! and it has a rate of fire 4200rpm!!! and ours is on a plane mothafuckkkaa

  • @Robbieifyoucan

    ... ?

What has this weapon got to do with an airplane mounted weapon ... 2 completely different objectives.

This fires programmed 35 mm. airburst ammunition (AHEAD - look it up) to destroy missiles, exactly like the american Phalanx or dutch Goalkeeper. It does need to fire long burst... and in fact neither does the GAU8 Avenger 30 mm. gatling cannon., which fires bursts of 1/2 - 1 second.

  • @Robbieifyoucan Actually, it doesn't overheat 7 times faster. It uses more efficient cooling solutions. You might even want to do the math. 4200/7=600. Compare that to 1000/1. The cooling of each individual barrel is almost half as effective, as the one on the KDE, which also uses vastly more powerful (and smarter) ammunition. The rate of fire is first and foremost limited by heat generation.

4800rpm is unnecessary and a waste of ammunition. Even one or two hits is likely to bring down a plane.

  • @Robbieifyoucan

    cont.

The GAU weighs a lot more and it takes a moment to reach the full rate of fire and you're still limited to roughly two-second bursts at the most. You could mount two 35mm guns side by side on an A10 with 600 rounds total and still save weight.

  • I want one ;-]

In a other video from HMDS Absalon, the Oerlikon on top of the hangar shooting fast single shot - when are that prefered, before a full burst like this one here?

  • Holy bajeezus!

  • nothin on the avenger cannon

  • it has nothing on the avenger cannon

  • Holy crap! Awesome system!

  • I would like to see if that 35mm gun could be fitted in the fuselage of a fighter jet.

It would be a cool weapon for closerange dogfights.

  • @SwissLeo1 umm, at that size it wouldnt be a plane with a gun, it would be a gun with wings... and that size would be an anti tank gun , lol not a dogfighter... u dumbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbb

  • @Robbieifyoucan Naaaah, just try and make the gun lighter and compacter then it should work.

there where anway fighterjets with larger guns onboard like the MiG-15 Gurevich with a 37 mm gun.

    And with the 35mm Ahead.

: ) its just more fun to shreed a aircraft into little bits.

  • @SwissLeo1 ummm its not a dogfighter is a ground attack you stupid fuck

  • Trop fort

  • They should fit that to a tank :)

  • :D

    This made my day.

  • that's one awaesome CIWS

  • Dear Danish Friends , I would like you inform than polish figure who visited one of yours Royal Navy Ship after all instead share with polish citizens about his visit , he criticized you , by saying than members of yours Navy looks like a WHALES , the name of this figure who represents only himself is Bronislaw Komorowski, he is communist and after killed President Lech Kaczynski he took his position .

  • Does this use the same munition as Sky Shield CRAM?

  • 1 of the AHEAD shells, is to Compare with four and a half 30 shot Magazine from a m-16 , fired from 50 meters, ... in 1/1000 sek. Think about it....

  • Lockheed Martin(U.S) company, had its hands in making this gun!

  • WTF!!?!?

  • that was nasty

  • i need that:)))

  • omg das überlebt keiner

  • nice gun :-) what rate of fire does it have?

  • @micindustries 1000 RPM

  • Oerlikon is everywehre and the best wapon. american-army take old switzerland system and we construct new for us :-)

  • Oerlikon = District of Zurich, Zurich is a town in Switzerland... :-)

  • swiss and german engeneering combined.

but the mlg27 rocks more. the 27mm chain gun of tornado/eurofighter with a fire rate of 1700shots/minute (more than a machinegun) adapted to an infrared sighting a aiming/fir guindance device and on the german naval ships to replace there all chain guns.

  • Nothing German in the Oerlikon Millennium Gun! Swiss engineering from start to finish.

The MLG27 is a 5 chamber revolver not a chain gun. You'd be hard pressed to find a chain gun capable of 1700 rounds per minute.

  • @csmac1969

    nope

    oerlikon is part of rheinmetall

  • @Itachi21x Do you know what multinational corporations are? Oerlikon is part of Rheinmetall - since 1999 in fact - but the company, its location and its staff are all Swiss. Oerlikon Contraves is a Swiss company registered in Switzerland and incorporated according to the laws of Switzerland. Just because the parent company is located in Germany doesn't make the product German.

  • @csmac1969

    hurr durr

  • @csmac1969 Nope, but do you know who Emil Georg Bührle was? Let me enlighten you then...it was the German who owned Oerlikon from 1923 onwards and who pushed the manufacturing of the 20mm cannon, the mainstay of their business from then onwards...a weapon that was developed in 1914 by Reinhold Becker...and yes, you guessed it...another German. Don't be to proud of your "all Swiss" history...because it never was such ;)

  • @ceemosp Of course I know who Bührle was! Why did you ask me if I knew who Emil Bührle was if you were going to tell me anyway? Don't forget that he took Swiss citizenship in 1936 so I guess he felt he no longer wanted to be German. Besides, I never claimed that Becker's 20mm was a Swiss invention - only the 35mm Millennium Gun in THIS video. The Bührle family holding company owned many Swiss companies - are they all automatically German now because the original patriarch was?

  • thats just awsome

  • now to try this baby out!

how about in the Gulf of Aden. lets see what pirates think of this ;)

  • Woooo

Americans, ur Gatling isnt the best anymore!

  • gatlings baby will keep rolling while you're still waiting for that "SINGLE" barrel to cool off.

  • I quess goalkeeper ciw's beat this one >.>

  • @henrikus15 Gatling,...... HO HO HOoooo...... the wohle american army is a product from discount market from swizerland,.... for exemple MOVAG (Hummer) RUAG from F-15 til Raptor.... belive me is all from Swiss

  • @henrikus15 While that is pretty fast you're actually going to compare it against a Vulcan? Really?

  • @TaintedMojo Gatlins definitely can fire faster. However current 20 and 30mm Gatling CIWSs use only solid bullets, while this one seems to have neat time-fused fragmenting one, thus it might actually work better against incoming antiship airborne threats.

  • @henrikus15

is Royal Danish Navy , not Americans

  • @henrikus15

yeah it is. the vuclan s n rm of 3000. this is only 1000 pm. nothin beats the vulcan

  • @4everUSNavy

Then why would the US Navy put the Millenium Gun on its destroyers and not Gatling guns? The Vulcan has a higher rate of fire but Gatling guns always have lower accuracy than revolver cannons. Just compare the Apache's main gun and the Cobra's. BTW, regarding ROF, nothing beats the Metal Storm.

  • @4everUSNavy

Unlike the vulcan / phalanx gatling type gun ,the millenium gun here can actually hit it's targets. The impressive

thing is not the rate of fire, but the programmable AHEAD ammunition, each containing more than 150 submunitions. The gun is therefore able to cover a larger area of the sky in a single moment ,than the palanx

, which again translates into higher hitprobabillty.

  • @mkpoulsen

the vulcan hits its targets. you are just one stupid mother fucker to think otherwise. if it didnt work then the best navy in the world would have replaced it. if this is so good then why isnt the greatest navy using it?

    cant answer that can you

  • @henrikus15

now you are talking about Metal storm which is also AMERICAN. and i would trust a Phalanx Vulcan more than a chain-gun for AA defense.

  • @henrikus15 american gatling shoots more per minute, but this one gives more rounds in short bursts than the american, because it doesnt take a moment to reach the full rpm like in the vulcan.

  • @1987jkilla neither one of these comes remotely close to the top firing gun of all time....ck out "metal storm" it fires it's rounds electronically and so far nothing has come close....it fires 1 million rounds a minute.

  • @1987jkilla Um...no.

The 35mm cannon in this video shoots around 900 rpm give or take 50 rpm if my hearing is accurate. The GAU series weapons fire from 3000-4000 rpm. Even with the delay (which is minuscule btw, real life isn't a video game), a gatling would easily outpace this weapon even in short bursts.

As for the weapon itself, impressive, but the soviets have made better, and of course it still doesn't match the Gau-8 anyhow.

  • @henrikus15

implying 1000 rounds a minute is fast

  • @henrikus15 lol your pansy gatling are no match for our superior air force.

  • @henrikus15

Yes it is. The Gau-8 fires 3 times faster.

  • @henrikus15 IIRC, this was meant to be the Phalanx replacement as LockMart helped design it. :P So it's part American!

  • @henrikus15 This gun shoots over 4 times slower than an A-10 warthogs cannon, which is only 5mm less in diameter. We have better guns mounted on our airplanes.

  • @quarterxchange that might be true.. but the GAU-8 is a Gatling.. so to make a straight comparison isn't fair.. it might shoot 4 times faster or more 4200 rounds a minute in fact.. but thats whit 7 barrels.. thats 6 more that this gun.. and this does a 1000 rounds a minute. give it 6 more barrels and do the math :P then you can make a straight comparison ^^, but other than that your right :)

  • @TheBlackWolfDK 1000 rounds a minute maximum on automatic fire, and guns that large with a single barrel aren't able to maintain such a rate of fire for more than a matter of seconds.

  • @quarterxchange Thats why they are empty after 17 seconds. This ship must go one way longer than a A10. This ship doesnt have to fight tanks, but surface ships.... It also floats, it does not fly. ...

  • @TheNovaAxon It only takes a handfull of rounds from an A-10 to annihilate a tank. And this ship will not use oerlikon to destroy ships. Unless Denmark is planning on going to war with fishing boats this gun will be worthless against other cruisers and destroyers. This gun is meant to shoot down airplanes.

  • @quarterxchange Actually you're Wrong, A-10s can't destroy tanks, they could immobilize them, but there is no way it would destroy the tank. Not to mention it would probably take 10 tries to actually hit the tank

  • @ThatAdelaideGuy the pilots have to be 80% or above acurate to be allowed to fly combat. so 80% of rounds would have to hit the target area.

  • @quarterxchange In fact its main role would be air defence from missiles...in modern warfare AA guns are not to big threat to aircrafts...

  • @Militarija aa missiles are tho, but your right, guns are kept for very close engagements, mostly for air defence and if pirtates attack in fishing boats

  • @Militarija Shilka is nasty though.

  • @quarterxchange Stupido.

  • @stig5057 Bastardo

  • this cannon and the Gatling are completely different weapon systems..

  • @henrikus15 yeah this is more badass than GAU-8

  • Christ that thing's fast! I was expecting something about 180 rounds per minute, maybe like a 40mm Bofors..nothing like this.

  • Maximum is 1000 rounds per minute on this one.

  • @Inneper like a good ol mg42
