To say that you "don't know" something and then say "it must not be [whatever]" is to spread ignorance and stupidity and is to show that you have no real intellectual speculation on the matter. I'm not saying that homosexuals are bad people. I know a couple, and I think they are very nice and should be respected as people, but homosexuality itself should not be encouraged or condoned. The studies were done on the brains of deceased adults. Since the brains of these adults were fully (or mostly) developed, there is no reason to assume that homosexuality is genetic. Also, more reliable studies have shown it is more of a psychological thing than genetic. Genetics may help push someone one way or the other, however.............

I didn't say that there is no "truth" in it! I pointet out that the bible wasn't writen by god or even dictated by him. It was writen by men. And was translated several times too. So each of those authors and translators left there own ideas and preconceptions in that book. And of course some of them were homophobic or misogynic.
Actually, there haven't been very many translators (at least not ones that translated it correctly). Translation of the BIble is a very strict process. If there is a mistake in it, it is not to be printed and is to be destroyed (back when we didn't just save txt files on computers, now they can just fix any errors). There are no personal "preconceptions" in it. We can match today's Bible to that of text a couple thousand years old and it would have a 98% correct (EXACT) match.
The other 2% is spelling (of names) and grammar differences. Just to be clear, the comparisons are in the same language (original language it was written in). Also, to disagree with homosexual activities IS NOT homophobic. That is a common misconception, and just because men behaved certain ways toward women back then doesn't make the Bible misogynic.
However, women should do certain things (like obey their husbands). Obviously there are certain points at which that can become abusive and that is wrong. It's all a matter of understanding. If you understand it, you know that the Bible intends and is good. If you don't, you are scared of it and refuse to believe it out of ignorance (usually, some people actually read it and understand it, but they simply refuse to believe it).
The Bible is a relativly new book.. most of the original sources are destroyed or lost. It was rewritten, recomposed and edited severel times eg. twice by the Roman Catholic Church alone (they reduced the gospel number to 4) ..
And for the Old Testament there are languages involved who nobody speaks any more.
The Apocrypha do contain several "Gospels" which were much closer to Jesu than those choosen (Markus was writen almost 60 years after jesu died (back then this is almost three generations))

There has been no substantial proof of that. It has only been speculation. A speculation, I might add, that was made by a homosexual (so he was biased). The studies were done on the brains of deceased adults. Since the brains of these adults were fully (or mostly) developed, there is no reason to assume that homosexuality is genetic. Also, more reliable studies have shown it is more of a psychological thing than genetic. Genetics may help push someone one way or the other, however.............

I didn't say that there is no "truth" in it! I pointet out that the bible wasn't writen by god or even dictated by him. It was writen by men. And was translated several times too. So each of those authors and translators left there own ideas and preconceptions in that book. And of course some of them were homophobic or misogynic.

Actually, there haven't been very many translators (at least not ones that translated it correctly). Translation of the BIble is a very strict process. If there is a mistake in it, it is not to be printed and is to be destroyed (back when we didn't just save txt files on computers, now they can just fix any errors). There are no personal "preconceptions" in it. We can match today's Bible to that of text a couple thousand years old and it would have a 98% correct (EXACT) match.

The Bible is a relativly new book.. most of the original sources are destroyed or lost. It was rewritten, recomposed and edited severel times eg. twice by the Roman Catholic Church alone (they reduced the gospel number to 4) ..
And for the Old Testament there are languages involved who nobody speaks any more.
The Apocrypha do contain several "Gospels" which were much closer to Jesu than those choosen (Markus was writen almost 60 years after jesu died (back then this is almost three generations))

a lot of people minipulate clintons statistics saying that he brought us in to a surplus and bush Jr brought a deficiet. In fact it was Bush Sr. That managed to raise the surplus so that it peaked at clintons election and started to decrease till its lowest point in the middle of bushes 1st term. Hes trying to build it back up

Rule #1 of fighting a war. If you don't like the "front" that the enemy has chosen, then you start another bigger one somewhere else. Realize that the most important thing that the war in Iraq has done is cause the consistent front to be NOT IN NEW YORK! Whether you like the current admin or not, you must thank them for knowing and doing this. As long as the terrorists don't realize Rule #1, they'll keep sending their insurgents to Iraq and not New York or Los Angeles.

War started when radical extremists figured out modern day society doesn't line up with their beliefs, so all infidels must die! On 9-11, that war was brought to American soil. It would have stayed in New York, if someone didn't take it elsewhere. 9-11 =3000 civilian casualties in one day. Could've been 80,000 civilian casualties, if the buildings were full as they usually are. When would the next 1 of those types of strikes have been, if the war wasn't taken to Iraq? So yes. Thank you.

a terrorist is not the same thing as a soldier in an army. a terrorist doesnt need a base of opperations tied to a national government, a terrorist can still come here any time. going to Iraq has not put terrorists on the defensive

You're theoretically right, but where have they attacked in the last 6 years? Mostly Iraq (& then 1 in Spain & 1 in England. Yes, they are probably trying for other things, but the data says the 1s that are blowing up things, are blowing them up in the middle east. The majority of their "attention" is on the Middle East. Hate works. It blinds. When you hate something so much (Americans) and they are on your doorstep, you kick them out 1st b4 you pursue them in the next country.
