  • LOVE LOU!! (: <3

  • which album is?

  • @edo8200 his first solo album. it's just called lou reed.

  • sha la la la man

  • this song is so much fun to play on the guitar

  • What is it Metallica wants with him?

  • This song kicks the shit out of the Doors song.

  • @theadamjerom where is the point of comparing music, specially when it comes to great musicians as lou reed and bands as the doors, both songs are awesome, keep your opinion for yourself and don't express it, although it is worthless

  • @111fal This is a public forum, I can express whatever opinion I like. Cheers.

  • @theadamjerome not really the doors song is trippier but the'yre both great

  • @theadamjerome

What the fuck? Just because two songs are named the same does not mean they are the same, or even similar. Both songs are great. Lou is great, but you would have to be a fool to say he is anywhere as good as The Doors were.

  • @Rush1013 cant really compare,,,2 way diferent genres

  • hey lou "wild child" is a doors song!!!

  • Argentina, I knew betty in question a ditzy model actress from Kentucky, who was a distant sattelite in the wharhol crowd but it was probably her.after she got drunk she became un uptight a true alcoholic

  • I don't know about this song. I mean I love everything that Lou Reed has done with VU and solo and I am drawn back everyone of their songs constantly. But again this song I don't know it is more so than any of their other songs. I fucking love this song is what I'm trying to say lol. Fuckin rights Lou Reed the greatest pyscedellic musician of all time.

  • 2:08 - 2:39:

'...I was talking to Betty about her auditions / how they made her ill / But life of the theater is certainly fraught with many spills and chills / But she'd calm down after some wine / which is what happens most of the time / Then we sat and both spoke in rhyme / Til we spoke of Lorraine / Ah, it's always back to the rain...'

He keeps mixing it up. Long live Lou Reed!

  • lovin the username haha

  • the rain...

  • awesome song!!

  • So wants a "love" button right now <3

  • Fuckin' killer song! It's in my "covers" play list.

  • "Type PRIZE before youtube and hit enter

  • i like Lou but "wild child" for me will be always just a Doors song!!!

  • @parker9977

Exactly. I wish this song had a different title, like "She's a Wild Child" or something, to differentiate.

  • @mussman717word totally agree!!and the funny thing is that lou always said that he hates jim morrison and the doors!!anyway that's his problem and "wild child" will be always a doors masterpiece....doors rulesssss

  • man I want an alternate version of this song with lorraine replaced by another name of a real wild child

  • this is awesome track from 72

  • aaa i'm sorry!! i disliked it by accident! i will come back to like it a thousand times.

  • I really really love this lou reed first album. its sort of lou reed as himself not pretending anything

  • Reed trying to be Bowie

  • @clickswitchh

Thanx for making me laugh out loud ( for real )

  • Somebody missed the like button.

  • I guess that the "come down" has a sexual meaning, like "give head".

  • @rojinio see, this is why i think it's calm down. the only meanings for come down i know of are drug related (coming down from a high or what not) or emotional or something like that, but that one is rare. usually it's a drug term and i don't think that fits here. also, don't trust lyric sites. they're often dead wrong and i've found the same wrong lyrics on many, many sites before.

  • @ireallyhatejesus Oh, I didn´t know that. I suposed that "come down" had a sexual meaning.

    Thanks for your help.

P.s: Why is your name Ireallyhatejesus? Hahaha... You´ll have troubbles when you want to join to the Chritian Channel.

  • I´ve got a silly question. I´m from Argentina, and my english sucks.

When he says "She´d come down after some wine" Is he saying "She had come" or "She would come"? Cause, both of them sound me a bite strange. I guess that "She would come" has more meaning, but, anyway, I´m not sure. Could you tell me, please?

    Thanks!

Lou Reed, you´re a genius. Many people in Argentina love you. I´ve started to play the guitar only cause I wanted to play "Take a walk on the Wild side".

  • @rojinio

he means she'd relax and calm down. on fact, i think the line may actually be calm down. i grabbed the lyrics from, some random site, so yeah.... my bad.

  • @ireallyhatejesus Are you sure? I think he really says "come down" I searched in the net and everywhere says "come down".

    Anyway, maybe you´re right.

    Thanks!

  • @rojinio actually, i think the lyrics i posted are wrong. i'm pretty sure he says calm down after some wine and not come down.

  • @rojinio I had always thought it was "she'd (would) come down after some wine" meaning that she lived upstairs from him or something and came down for a glass of wine and to talk which was a regular occurence hence "is what happens most of the time"

  • @rojinio

    Yeah, you're right, Roj, it's "would" ..

"She(woul)d calm down after some wine ... which is what happens most of the time".

It's what she used to do ... what she would do ...

jeez, the argentinians've got a better handle on our language than we native speakers have! Ole'!

  • @rojinio comes down aca la usa como "viene abajo" le tira la goma basicamente..en argentino jaja

  • I've got no idea if this is true or not, but I think the line "so we both shared a peice of sweet cheese" may actuly refer to 'cheese' heroin (dirty street dope)

  • i'm not really into reed but this song gets a little better each time i hear it lol

  • Check out Hellfire Social - Bleeding in Circles music video

  • Thanks for the post. I think this is the best song from Lou Reed's first solo album. He does sing Lorraine - not "the rain" - who's obviously the wild child of the song title who sleeps on the streets, living all alone, etc..

Let me also add that the name you chose for your channel is a very, very poor and unfortunate choice. I would hope that you probably hate churches, religions, etc.. rather than Jesus who's the best thing that ever happened to humanity, closely followed by Rock&Roll

  • can never choose from this classic and lisa says.....errrmmmmm !!!!( puttin' the rest aside).

  • Always back to the"RAIN"!!!!

  • The lyric book Lou put out a few years back says 'Lorraine'. One presumes he'd know. :) (though I always thought it was 'the rain' too)

  • @konstantina70 explain me please the meaning of "rain" I've heard it in many songs but it doesn't make sense... I think it means money or fame or something like that but I'm not sure... thx...

  • @growrust

    Lorraine

  • @konstantina70

i think he actually says "always back to Lorraine"

    but yeah....

    lou reed rocks my socks

  • But she'd come down after some wine...

  • Such an underrated song. One of his best, or anyone's.

  • some of my favorite seemingly effortless & infinitely cool lyrics from Lou . the band is solid as hell to .

Steve Howe from YES plays on this record . bizarre .

  • Always back to Lorraine.

  • nice.

  • COOL, COOL, COOL!! ㋡

  • Excellent!! Thanks for posting.

  • i think you mean "heroine" haha, "cocaine" is a cream(eric clapton) song

  • i think you mean a jj cale song

  • Surely JJ Cale would be disagreeing with you around about now?

Btw, Cream didn't perform it either.

  • How a poet should sound period.

  • Nah, everything about lou reed & velvet underground is pure heroin ups & down's

  • My fav song by him

  • Cocaine...perhaps you're thinking of Eric Calpton?

  • "...and different types of organic soap..." hahaha, what a crackpot! Love 'im.

  • Top Banana!

  • great stuff here so different and great!!! ty

  • This song reminds me so much of a girl I once knew in New York. She has since died and it conjurs many a memory.

  • i try to hate nobady, but surely i love the guys who post such songs....thanks a lot!!!!

  • no problem. i really need to get off my ass and add more lou. there just isn't enough out there which is both shocking and disappointing. it's all walk on the wild side and perfect day.

at least that's how it seems at times.

  • yeah, true

wild side is a massive hit, but reed has a lot of good songs... vicious, cocaine, my friend george...

people in my age (i'm 14) don't know lou reed or ramones (ilove'em) or anything older than 3 years!

  • @eloiramone So I have been into the Velvet Underground for about two years now and just recently started trying to acquire all of Lou Reeds albums. I was wondering if anyone would know if he has done a song about meth. He has done songs about Heroin, Ecstacy, and Cocaine those are the one I know of at the moment. I was just wondering if anyone could enlighten me.

  • @hermygagala 'White light/White Heat'

  • @eloiramone people yer age are stupid too bad!!!!!!
