  • bravo care, super poso

  • lijepo izgleda

  • I agree, something is not very proportional with this knife, blade is 8 cm, and handle 9.5 cm.

  • im sorry, very nice knife, but how big is the handle, size does not seem to match

  • i know, you are a musician too

  • suomi! finland!!!

  • very well done and well presented

  • nice knife, cool editing

  • whats the point? lol

  • Very nice - it went by a little too fast so I put it on pause and ran through the slides by hand. Missed the nice music though. :-(

  • @roaldeuller This song was a little too tough for me to adjust pictures by tones, I did my best to make it flow, and it is a little too fast for a person who really wants to see how I made this one. And it is a trick: you must watch it twice, once for the song and second for the pictures :). There's more of this music at kymiid35 channel.

  • That is some incredible craftsmanship. Keep this to pass down in your family for future generations to appreciate

  • its volkswagen not wolkswagen

  • @janvoslos LOL :) this video is here over a year and I didn't see this mistake! Thanks, I'm glad you watched it so carefully.

Btw, I've mistaken it "wolksvagen", not "wolkswagen".

  • @mirkosrndovic oh haha :)

  • Živeli! Res super video! Roy-Slovenija

  • @roy993 I've explained quenching process (kaljenje) the best I could below the video, in description. Check that out, and if you have some specific question fell free to ask.

    Ziveli drugar!

  • @roy993 Thank's for the answer! I read the description, just like to know if it is the same proces for the file steel, is it any different than for the spring steel? Well at the moment I plan to use an old file to make myself a knife.

  • @roy993 Actually, I don't know if it is same process for file steel. Try to find out which steel is your file made of, and I could read in some of my books about quenching/tempering process for that kind of steel.

But for some of my future projects about file knife, I would use the technique explained in this description.

  • I really love the look of the handle, but the blade appears somewhat small by comparison, is this something common for puukko's? I would love to see that same handle with a larger blade, something that would give the overall aesthetic more balance. Otherwise, fantastic job!

  • @ixamraxi Thank you very much. Small blade is a characteristic for this kind of knife, but I do agree that aesthetic balance is a little bit off, but that is why it is so precious to me. I can only ask for a patience because my next project, started in summer this year (2011) is a big blade knife.

    Cheers mate!

  • Nice. A few tips:

    1. Wrap the knife in a double layer of clinging kitchen film while molding the sheath's wet leather.

    2. Before it turns dark red, wipe both sides of the hot blade on a bar of soap, then heat it further for annealing of hardening: you'll have less "black fire scales".

    3. I'd advise using a kydex or even a piece of a shampoo bottle as an inner sheath (for the blade part only).

  • "Plum tree lumbers".

  • beautiful tang blade.

  • blade seems to be a little small compared to the handle buts thats just me...its a really well made knife...I want to make a few scandi style knives myself..but im stuck with using a long ass aluminum tube to blow into the fire to make my blades hotter...bummer lol. Good video

  • @warriorofsteel01 Check out my videos for a very simple, cheap as dirt blower bro.

  • amazing work! your an artist!

  • beautiful song

  • @Splattis1996 yes tis not mainstream but it is very serious and emotional, I actually dropped a tear when i first heard it, and understood all the lyrics :) Check out description, at the end is more info about it.

    Cheers mate!

  • Bravo! Odlicno!

  • That's a great knife :) The only puukko I know how to do is when I have too many beers :) LOL!

  • good work, fine knife, great vid (superb editing!). thumb up from me!

  • Terrific video! I was leery of the bone bits, but they turned out really nicely! I really think the way you found square spacers in that ox bone was kind of brilliant. The plum wood is gorgeous as well.

I've just started making knives in this fashion using purchased blades, and this video is going in my favorites.

  • Excuse me sir. Can I poke you with my volxwagen?

Sure... I guess-? *Stabbed* OW! >:U

I really like all the recycled parts you used. :D

I never would have thought of stretching out a spring and using that!

    I am so dumb. :/

  • Nice work. I really like that you used so much recycled stuff.

  • @harri685 Thank you very much, this is the best compliment ever! Cheers!

  • That is an awesome puukko you made i wish i had the skills too :)

  • @TheValineurheilija My skills come from internet, from youtube. I watched every video about knife making, found out about some books, read them, found out about some videos, watched them, visited dozens of knife making, and knife maker's sites, and tried it my self. I think it is wonderful, great experience of making something useful with your own hands and imagination. I would encourage everyone to try. So please try! Cheers!

  • Nice vid, how did you flatten the tang down at the end ? Thanks

  • @MichaelFishfinger to flatten that little tip at the back end of the knife I used a small light hammer and hammered it for an hour or so...

  • WOW! frigging awesome handle..... You buy some Mora Clipper blades ( Carbon ) without the handles and place this handle on them with your sheath and Im buying one!

  • you should definately make a few more. nice blade and leather forming

  • Omg from a spring

  • ANOTHER EXCELLENT KNIFE!! I TAKE MY HATS OFF TO YOUR TALENT!! There's nothing more special than a home made knife made this way...

    I SUBSCRIBED!!! ;-)

  • Beautiful!

  • @KnifemakingUnplugged Thank you very much! I can just say that I've learned from the best. Without Your video I could never harden and temper my blade properly. Your teaching made pull up my knife making to a higher level, and transfered it from a little boy's game to a serious love.

    Cheers, Lively Forge!

  • i love it man!!! - you are a man after my own heart. i use all reclaimed materials as well. i made a taiji sword from a coil spring. once again, the finish is really nice, and you're going to come out with some nice stuff when you fully get your trade down.it's good to see the next generation picking it up.

  • What (or how) did you heat treat the blade...Awsome Video!

    Best Regards-Ratified

  • beautiful knive , good sheath , all in all great work

i think there´ll be coming more vids ? don´t they?

    congratz

  • @sm4rtmouth thank you mate. You got a pretty neat video about forging hammer, I'm loving it. There will be more videos, but not in the recent future, I'm a little bit busy these days, new idea is in my mind but never enough time for all of them.

    Cheers!

  • super done my friend, do you have good drills ? still have a few extra Kobals drills; there new you could have them if you like. from 1.5 till 13 mm. just have to pay shipping. let me now if you want them... thanks for making this nice reportage.

    eric

  • Ristekpa. Spreman je da ubija!!!

  • @cola0902988733532 hvala Maki!
