It becomes obvious that there sometimes is a need for the extra label to categorizze the areas sound. NYHC is very noticeable. As is the LA HC if this is what the oxnard sound is liket then why not call the bands their nardcore?

Maybe some of you from Oxnard feel different, but I was around during the time these band got big (relatively that is...lol). We all conisdered Nardcore as a label to describe the punk scene in Oxnard and the fact they had a bunch of great bands emerge from there...Ill Repute, Stalag 13 (!!!), Scared Straight (in all its MLB glory!!) and of course RKL....

Why must everyone Lable and HATE on Bands? Who fucking cares what they where besides a rockin fuckin band. I listen to what I like thats why I'm here. These guys were one of my favorite HARDCORE bands to listen to in the 80's like DRI...now I never heard of nardcore back then but information traveled at a snells pace and If music wasnt on the radio or MTV it was hard to come accross. Mostly got bootleg cassets orhad to go see them at some shitty ass club.

if i recall thats not really a true statement, i read an interview with fat mike and he said that rkl was a big inspiration for their sound and they ripped them off hard and when rkl died they kinda took their spot, because it was just their to take and they felt it was their time to shine. i could be wrong, but i'm pretty sure thats what it said.
