DTOM was good,,, BUT they didnt rap shit on that album which was a little bit of a let down. but im glad they went back a bit on Uplifter, which KICK ASS. love 311 for life
DTOM is an odd album. Many of the B-sides and outtakes were way better than what appeared on the final product. Take My Money is a better song than almost everything that made it onto the album. I liked Don't Tread on Me but they could have made it way better if they took more time and finished up some of those outtakes.
This song is fuckin sweet, and all you people stop bitching about how DTOM sucks, if you dont like it then just go fuckin listen to like the other 130 songs they've made besides those, and stop your damn bitching. yeah, DTOM is their worst album but I still like about 3 songs from it, 3 is better than none, so just shut up and be fuckin grateful for what 311 has produced, like 85% of their songs kick ass, out of close to 145 songs, so shut up.

I didnt say I didnt like DTOM..one of my favorite 311 songs overall is Long for the Flowers. But I'll correct it, there was a lot of fans dissapointed with DTOM. DTOM is 311's worst album but what it comes down to is that Music, Grassroots, Blue Album, Transistor, Soundsystem, and From Chaos kick fuckin ass. Ive listened to 311 for a long time they are my favorite band and the best thing about them is the depth of their lyrics. A lot of songs on DTOM have very deep lyrics. I may be wrong but i dont see that depth on this song. I think we can all agree that they should finish all of these songs and put out a bside collection!

god damn it, this song should have made the album. I don't get it...why are so many of their b-sides better than a lot of the actual album songs? I hope they aren't the ones that decide what songs make the cut, cuz if so, they obviously don't even realize what their best material is.

DTOM is an odd album. Many of the B-sides and outtakes were way better than what appeared on the final product. Take My Money is a better song than almost everything that made it onto the album. I liked Don't Tread on Me but they could have made it way better if they took more time and finished up some of those outtakes.

This song is fuckin sweet, and all you people stop bitching about how DTOM sucks, if you dont like it then just go fuckin listen to like the other 130 songs they've made besides those, and stop your damn bitching. yeah, DTOM is their worst album but I still like about 3 songs from it, 3 is better than none, so just shut up and be fuckin grateful for what 311 has produced, like 85% of their songs kick ass, out of close to 145 songs, so shut up.

and i can respect that, its just the hardcore 311 fans that get pissed at 311 for not continuing to make grassroots albums and hard shit when they're 40 years old. They should appreciate them for what they've produced. Some 311 fans are more into the hard stuff, like music/grassroots, then others that are more into the chill stuff, like evolver and dtom, its understandable. all i know is that i listened to hey you really loud after smoking weed and it was amazing, so 311 still kicks ass

DTOM is just a totally different vibe than any album they have ever done before. I respect that they are a band that follows their own musical path and doesnt' try to replicate their last hit. Man they aren't kids anymore...their music isn't always gonna be about weed...embrace the new stuff for what it is don't hate it because it's not the same as their first few albums.

I didnt say I didnt like DTOM..one of my favorite 311 songs overall is Long for the Flowers. But I'll correct it, there was a lot of fans dissapointed with DTOM. Not because the album was terrible, because it wasnt what we were expecting. The sound wasnt what we thought it was gonna be. Thats where the dissapointment is. Waiting is a pop song and I dont care for pop..to each their own. I'll listen to it..just not a lot

I totally understand, and agree. DTOM was not what I was expecting musically either, it definitely took a few listens, but I still like a lot of it (it's just different than the other albums).
And when I say I like pop music, just to clarify, I mean pop music with something to say, not bubblegum pop, like Beatles pop.

haha k i'll always stick up for 311, i've been a fan since i was 6 years old, and i'm 19 now and they are by far my favorite band and always will be, but waiting blows. but its cool, every band has a song that kind of sucks, difference is 311 has about 120 fuckin sweet songs and other bands cant even come close to that. and the quality of those 120 songs is better than the best of other bands. some other greats are rage, tool, pink floyd, beastie boys

Alright I think we're on the same page after all. I'm a huge Beatles fan, so I guess it just depends on your defenition of pop. DTOM grew on me each time I listened to it. Thank your lucky stars, long for the flowers, theres always an excuse, and its getting OK now are all some of my favorite 311 songs of all time. DTOM is 311's worst album but what it comes down to is that Music, Grassroots, Blue Album, Transistor, Soundsystem, and From Chaos kick fuckin ass. This means that 311 fans have these high of expectations always, and after making 140+ songs it probably gets a little tough to keep making unbelievably awesome songs. What it comes down to is, true 311 fans know that 311 is by far the best band ever

I have to take that back, I did like Evolution when Soundsystem came out. But through the years, on the rare ocassion I have Soundsystem on, I grimace at the thought of listening to it after Eons is over. But you'd have to say, if it came down to Evolution vs. Seal the Deal to make the final cut for Soundsystem, I'd hope you'd pick Seal the Deal.

did you hear the breakdown interlude on evolution when it has the spacey feeling? evolution is so good... becos of the execution... they were talking bout computers, and so, they made a mechanic feel to the song, especially SA's rap.... it's kick ass man. one of my fav 311 songs.

But, you can replace the black olives with something awesome like extra cheese (the Live DVD) and forget the entire album. Ha and yes I work at a pizza place. :)

ive been a 311 fan since 95 been to 20 shows including memphis 311 day and i must say evolver and dtom suck real real bad.frolic room or sweet waiting or paradise long for the flowers or innerlight spectrum,fuck it theres alawys an excuse or use of time.get the point.tell nick hexum to stop doing these one man trying to hard radio songs.also take my money is better than the entire dtom albu except solar flare.bomb the town and borders 4 life.
