i never said i did but i do take a pilots course. so shut the hell up i bet u cant even tell the difference between a Beech baron and a Beech Bonanza i study planes.bitch. and yes i do fly i just flew a Citation i think either a 4 or 5.
@linkinparkrocker44 If you did just fly a Citation was it the mustang or the bravo. If you really flew the Citation or really know anything about aviation you would be able to answer this question. what dash number engine is on the Cessna Caravan?
This is bound to happen when an less experienced RC Pilot operates and aircraft above there league so t speak. The hornet has a negative dynamic stability and to couple that to a CG problem the crash was inevitable,
I'm not an aero major, but isn't the Hornet as well as all high performance jets built to be unstable for maneuverability? With the assistance of several computers, the flight controls can be manipulated for stable flight. But without...the result is predictable, right?
So, what was the weight of the second plane? Where is the CG? Does it fly alot nicer. I'm only asking because I'm 80% through a building the same F-18 from RCM plans. Modified mine for a removable wing. Planning on using a Super Tiger 45 with pump. I expect to place some extra weight in the nose.
The canopy was found at a hobby store, weight 6 lbs, OS Max .46 used standard muffler turned it around took off back section of muffler replaced w/circular piece of aluminum hole drilled in middle secure to ½ of the muffler & another ¼" or so hole for exhaust. This aloud clearance for prop. Should have bought exhaust I think my setup impacted the engine performance. Cont. 1of3
worked ok, setup plane to be nose heavy on the 2nd plane, setup a wire skid plate in front of the engine to minimize prop strikes. I made my own landing gear to get the plane as high as I could so at take off I could have enough roll/pitch on takeoff and landings, but still looking right. My plane was all balsa and I had US Navy on the underside if wings, looked really cool when I flash the underside. Cont 2of3
Some other suggestions, turn down you elevator rates the plane tends stall, and on takeoff i.e. from left to right, try as fare out as you dare roll down the runway fast as you can (about 100' past you) and gently roll plane up and get some altitude and keep plane near you to trim it, because your blue plane is hard to see on a blue clear sky, at least on the first couple of flights. Best of luck and I would like to hear how your plane works out for you. End 3of3
No, the CG was really off and I rolled out so far out that I could not see the plane to control it. I should have taken off 60+ feet back from where I did. The 2nd plane that I built was better because I placed some nose weight, which made it fly better.

Dear All,
I have some questions abour psychology:
(1) Why do we enjoy flying "Flight Simulator"?
(2) What does make us to play Flight Simulator over and over again?
(3) Why do we want challenge flyings instead of a smooth fly? (eg. refuelling a F18 by a KC10)
(4) If Flight Simulator allows us to choose your desired jet engines and to modify aeroplanes, will this be fun for players?
THANK YOU IN ADVANCE for your creative idea and brainstorm!!! :)

Oh well lesson learned.
I can say this because I've made the same mistake. You dont often repeat it.
It was a nice plane, hope you rebuild and have another go.

The hornet was built from plans from RCM Magazine April 1991. Plan#1089 (60) and 1090 (40).
