You can't compare the American drivers, simply because rally isn't popular here at all, which is sad to say. I wish I was back in Europe so I can watch it and even have the chance to practice.

well, sure, compare ANY american driver directly with a european driver, and the european driver will be better!

but comparing american drivers with american drivers (the only drivers in the world you can compare them with) pastrana is actually quite a good driver, nothing compared to bryan buffier or peter solberg, but thats cuz they didn't grow up driving v8 comaro's that go fast in a strait line but crash on the first corner!

I wouldn't take it that far. The average European is a better driver than the average American, and we sure have our racing straight (Formula 1 ftw, NASCAR ftl), but there are some good American race car drivers. TPs pretty good. And you're right, real track racing beats drag and oval tracks any day!

well, yeah, very true, i should have worded my statement better, i appologize. yes travis is a good driver, and a very fun guy, i have met and talked with him a number of times, great guy. he is a good driver, but more amazing drivers have come from europe than america.

Its obvious jpkoski is butt hurt because Pastrana doesnt dirt bike anymore. Get over it Ive rallied against him in 2006 hes a great guy and very fast and yes Europeans by and large are quicker because they've been rallying most of their lives Pastrana just jumped in and hes doing quite well.

Sheesh, nice 'training' roads. Being a rally fan and living in Memphis is agony watching stuff like this. Good luck to Travis in his WRC efforts. I met him in Paris, Texas at a small ClubRally there, and he was a really nice guy, you can tell he loves the sport. I think he will do rally in he US proud.
