I can't watch this without my heart breaking. We decided on a Westie after watching Wee Jock on Hamish MacBeth many years ago. Wee Angus passed away earlier this year and I watch this episode with even more anguish as it rings true.
I've never read the books and I'm currently watching this series and absolutely loving it, just wanted to ask, would the books be wasted on me after I've watched a lot of this on television format?
I have once spent about 2 weeks in England, but never been in Scotland.
Westie is popular among Japanese dog lovers.
According to Japan Kennel Club (JKC) westie has been ranking around 25th (out of about 150 species) in the past decade, with yorkshire terrier around 5th and welsh corgi pembroke around 10th.
it was becouse of wee Jock i fell in love with the westie breed now i have my own wee westie called Bonnie but i always loved wee jock i wanted to own him as a kid
the best show i have ever seen. beautiful music, creative writing, lovable characters. Its near perfect. I really wish it lasted more than three seasons...
I just started reading the Macbeth books here in the states and I think they're grand. I was thinking of picking up DVDs of the show, but it seem's like Hamish Macbeth is the only charactor by name that carries over from the books. My question is do you get the same feel for the story with this show that you get with the novels?
I've never read the books, but I fell in love with this series ten years ago and was heartbroken when it ended. The acting is super and the location is beautiful.
Sorry to disagree, but its' actually two songs: Loch Rannoch, and Loch Duich. They're usually played together since they're similar and compliment each other.

I am 46 years old, and seen hundreds, if not thousands of tv-serieses. Why Hamish MacBeth comes closest to my heart, I don't know. But it does.

We could just see this episode today (Nov. !st 2010) on danish television.

to the both of you,
Both th books and the TV series are completely different. Both good, but the only Character that appears in both the Books and the Series is Hamish.
Personally, I like the series better, purely because of TV John.

I mean JKC's information about stock registration.
In "Wandering Shadow" (a plot) in "The Anger of Haruhi Suzumiya" (a Japanese light novel, vol.8), a westie named Rousseau appears.

Ditto all your comments. I've just finished my 3rd book and really want to see the series but why change Elspeth's name?

Maybe, but it's exactly the same tune as
Sine Bhane. I'm still sticking with it :]

Hello,
If this is meant to be an actual question. He's holding a little puppy. Wee Jock in the
Title was killed. That's his grave where he's
being piped to the great beyond.

rons0606 4 years ago
Hello,
The name of the tune played is called Sine
Bhan [Fair Jean in English] There is a beautiful version on William McCallum's CD
Pipers of Distinction.
