@liam1559 if you check out the other versions of this video, you'll find the guy was just some German journalist who was along for the ride. he wasn't supposed to be guiding Mark; more so as Mark is from there and would know it far better than him anyhow. To be honest, i was more amazed at how calm the guy seemed to be. mark was more ruffled, but then having had something similar years back, i know how he felt.

@DevlinMotorsport seriously go watch an on-board from any rally, the camera is fixed, not shaking like in top gear and like on this video, and output shaft sounds actually do match the gearing sound, you don't have to be a subaru engine sound expert to be able to notice that it doesn't on this video

I think they used a good noise cancelling mike then dressed up the audio in post processing. They used a straight through exhaust on this run, ostensibly to warn people they were coming but they probably gained power too, that sounds like a regular Sti.
@NCDropkickSquad i have watched the other video now. i am not denying this, i am just saying that the footage in this video does not seem to be the actual footage of when it happened, but rather a remake. from 0:25 to like 0:35 you can see that the voice matches his mouth but the gears don't match the engine sound.

The co-driver is not even afraid of bullets, you can spray him down with an uzi and he wouldn't flinch. The driver's hands are so fast that women all over the world are going to stalk him.
With the co-driver what you see is the look on someone's face as their entire life flashes before them, then they realises it's still happening and they smile and get on with it. :)

That rally was bikes + cars from the very first day. Thierry Sabine had the idea of creating the rally when he got lost and nearly died while racing his Yamaxa XT500 across the Sahara.

Not only that, rally cars like the STI in this video reaches up to 150 mph. The Ford raptor is limited to 100 mph due to its electronic locking rear differential. @baggy7981 - the course record is the average speed around the course, they get up to around 190/200mph you tool, higgins average around the course was about 113mph.
150Mph they went down the bottom there. there first lap was an average of 113 wich was faster than the sidecars that were out before them. in a near standard car. Think that quicks enough!

@baggy7981 - the course record is the average speed around the course, they get up to around 190/200mph you tool, higgins average around the course was about 113mph.

150Mph they went down the bottom there. there first lap was an average of 113 wich was faster than the sidecars that were out before them. in a near standard car. Think that quicks enough!
