C) Since X is linked with being a great world power, X was inevitable for the USSR (and not our faults see #1) because the USSR was a great world power.

If it were otherwise, X could not have inevitably caused the collapse of the USSR. Here is the chain of logic. Everyone agrees that something went wrong resulting in the USSR collapsing. Presumption: 1) we, Russians, as a people manage our affairs pretty well.
A) So, the USSR did X wrong or X went wrong. (X being some reason and depends on the author.)
B) X can't be any old reason because #1 we manage our affairs well generally.

First of all, the US can produce ANYTHING it exports from CHINA and anymore there isn't that much difference in total manufacturing costs when you consider shipping, supply line delays, etc. Second, China's exports would fall and it would result in massive layoffs, rioting, and probably political upheaval. They can out produce the U.S. in arms, munitions, and logistical supplies. If you think the US can win a war with China, you never studied history. In the Korean war, the US couldn't defeat China when it was a weak nation. The war ended in a stalemate, it was not a victory.

During WW II, there were no government factories producing massive amount of arms and munitions, it was all done by private sector firms, like IBM, General Motors, Ford, Smith&Wesson, Winchestor, and other industrial giants. Most of those industrial giants are gone, they have been outsourced. Even if the government Federalizes factories, there aren't many left there
