DON'T YOU GET IT, GENE AND FRANK? YOUR PENCIL TESTS ARE SO MUCH BETTER THAN YOUR FLASH VERSIONS OF CLETUS AND FLLOYD. MAYBE THEY'RE JUST NOT MADE FOR FLASH ANIMATION.
Sorry about the capitals, but i guess what i'm trying to get across is that the traditional-animation technique, although a little harder in places, really pays off much better - particularly, in this case, with Cletus and Flloyd.
But just so you know, I think your work is fantastic! Hence why i am frustrated :)
Gene had drew the animation in pencil on paper. We scanned the pencils in and then darkened each one in PS using actions. Then ran it through Streamline to vectorize. Then cleaned up (inked) in Flash over the pencils, because even after the streamline, we realized the pencil lines weren't going to cut it. A better way would be to hand draw TIGHT pencils lines (do clean-up traditionally) and streamlne those.
Thanks for the "nice vomit suppression" comment. I aggree with Frank with doing the tight pencils and just vectorizing those. Especially since it'll have to be re-cleaned up anyway in Flash. This animation was actually done a long while back (at least 8 years I would think) and we didn't really understand Flash too well back then.
