Thats a polecat fighting the cobra, or possibly a polecat ferret, just look at the colour of it, that isn't a mongoose. Also cobras and many opther snakes sluggish once they get there temperature up. They are Ectothermic, like other reptiles, so need to bask in the sun to reach there working temperature, if attacked before thats happened then they are slow and vulnerable, and can't get away, or can't fight back as effectively.
