by the way i also think that everyone can play fast drum patters by using triggers.

it's obviosly slower than the original drumming, and it's kinda sloppy too, unlike the original vital remains drummer, some admit when they play live, the drummer isn't really consistent when it comes to his blast on his snare, but what the hell? it's really hard to maintain consistency for a long time with that insane speed, and one more thing, they don't just play 1 song for a concert.. so for me, vital remains' drummer is really good, for him to have that insane stamina..

You are aware that Dave Suzuki (VR's guitar player) records the studio drums? For live shows, they find a session drummer.

Yeah he also sped up the drums in the studio. Records at a slower tempo then tweaks it afterwards. This is probably the fastest Dave can play it too.

@Compendyum I've seen the studio video and the lights are dim and you will notice just weird abnormal movements throughout the video. I've heard from several people that they tweak with the speed in the studio....I don't have facts but..just take another look at the studio footage. It's hard to tell. This is just what i've heard, that's all. Not trying to bash on him.

@Tardsnake Sure, no bashing, but again, take a good look at Suzuki video, the tempo when hitting cymbals, and fills. If that wont help, Hammer Down The Nails live is exactly the same studio tempo. Go check Evil Death Live, Donadeo plays it at same tempo, only not the same Suzuki or Young feeling. Cheers.

@Compendyum Well yeah the tempo is going to be the same in the song and the video, because the video would also be sped up to match the sped up song. Look at the cymbal movements in studio footage, they move a little too fast and come to a stay still pretty quick. That's it I'm convinced they are sped up lol. Nobody can prove it by that video..im sorry. Sure others can play it at that tempo, but can dave really? That is the question. lol i know im retarded but I really think im on this one.

They record guitar first, then slow tempo down and record drums at a slower tempo, then in the end just match the tempos...that SIMPLE. And the live videos have nothing to do with this at ALL. I know there is faster songs, but that also has nothing to do with this. I know other bands don't speed up drums in the studio. This just a case of what I've heard from other people and I believe it.

I agree with the others.. it really is pretty sloppy. But it sure is hard to play this fast. The question is if it is worth doing a drum cover made by a man who call himself "the machine". Sure the guy is fast.. but that is all he is. Do a cover by, for example: Steve gadd, Derek roddy, Dave weckl, Daniel erlandsson and so on. Everybody wants to master the drums. but no one wants to end up playing things that does'nt even sound human anymore. Drums + Machine = techno.
