Got to say as a trucker myself, that the driving of a lot of tippers, skips and cement mixers (as here) can be bloody frightening. I certainly wouldn't cycle on a busy road.
I cycle along that route to and from work too and those tipper truck drivers have no care and attention at all, HGV drivers are excellant, but those ones will kill me one day, they are the worst, regulation/training standards should be much better! If an HGV can do it, why cant they!

stehayens,there are going to be more cyclists on the roads in future, ,it will be the only way to get around towns in reasonable time,or would you rather be imprisoned in a metal box breathing in fumes from the car in front and taking 30 mins just to travel a mile...lol
@m648mvp Thanks for the comment, I think this is a good example of the 'psycho' mentality of a small number of road users. Hence the camera. It catches folk like you and you lose your jobs as a result. Everybody wins. :)
Having just watched this again it shocking just how close that really was,with a large vehicle going at that speed the turbulence and slipsream could have easily dragged you underneath, you were inches from death ,shocking
That was <<< dreadful >>> driving by the trucker. If unable to move out into other lane, truck should wait for gap in traffic not blast past so close to you. Such a high proportion of cyclist deaths involve collisions with trucks. Glad you survived!
Bikes are traffic too. I have a couple of pinch points near my home where I have to take the absolute centre of the lane or drivers think there is 'just enough'* space to get around. Last night it was a transit towing a broken down pickup who thought I should have given way to him. He shouted use the cycle lane, interestingly the only cycle lane in within 100 yards goes the oposite direction and ends after 50 feet.

That looks remarkably like a cycle lane on the path to your left. Funny that, a cycle lane next to a duel carriageway, might be an idea to use it to prevent close shaves
Close shaves are prevented by people who drive responsibly and carefully around other road users as the highway code demands, not by riding on cycle paths.
