Can't believe this video! I went to see Hamlet in Sheffield and waited for him outside and he didn't show after the performance - someone said his family were in and you don't hear me kicking off.....he's HUMAN therefore allowed to want to go home etc...just because he's an actor, doesn't mean that the public OWN him or he OWES them anything. He became an actor because he enjoyed acting, not to become famous, it just so happens he is famous - he is still a normal person and should be respected

maybe,being nice to fans is important for actors' career development ,however,we should be aware that it's only their works they are selling,not THEMSELVES,basically they have no obligation to please some strangers off the stage.

@unturndownable THere is no reason to go poor John Simm, I am not saying that he is a bad person and I am still a huge fan of him. All I'm saying is that he could've acted a bit nicer because really the fans are what make someone like him get to where he is. I understand that he is shy and it is painful for him which is why I would never go up to him if I just saw him on the streets, but this was after a play that we paid a lot of money to see.

@RoscoMalosco I'm the blonde whale and yea, sorry I am a HUGE John Simm fan and I have heard that he doesn't like meeting fans and such, but at the same time that is part of being an actor and it wasn't like we were outside his house or ran into him somewhere where he was with his family. He was signing autographs outside a play, and now that I think of it he wasn't so bad but at the time I was kinda shaken up. I have met many actors before and he could've been nicer and not acted mad.

@unturndownable I'm sorry if you were mistaken, but this was not John's 'private' time. He was across the street signing autographs after his play. My friends simply went over there to meet him. They were several seconds late as he began walking away from the crowd of fans. Surely, he could sign one more for a couple fans that had seen his play on a previous night?

@Kilmer5 --That's a bit harsh. They are just fans. If the guy doesn't want public attention, then he should have become a plumber. I get really sick of these actors who are paid VERY well for what they do and then complain when a fan appoaches them. Lots of wanna be actors would kill to be in his positon and have a fan care about them. He should be nicer. David Tennant gets ten times the attention andhe's always pleasant. It doesn't take much to sign a piece of paper and give a smile. Sheesh...

@thettguy: He wants to act. He doesn't want to be the center of attention except on stage or screen where he's doing his job. Where's the logic in actor = open season on harassment. He just wants to get home to his wife and kids. And why compare him to another actor? Simm doesn't have the personality to be comfortable with strangers approaching him and lavishing him with praise or wanting to become his instant friend. Appreciate him for his work, and leave him alone.

Her first words: "He was so mad." Then, "He was really mean." The exaggerations continue with "he's the tiniest person [she's] ever met." And you, who admit to not hearing the conversation, labeled him "a jerk." You two are a class act.

@Kilmer5 I didn't label him a jerk. Do you seriously have no listening comprehension? I inquired as to why my friend seemed shaken up by their meeting and I inferred that she felt he was a jerk by what she had said previously, so I asked if that were the reason. Then I went on to say, I didn't want to meet him, because I know he's shy and didn't want to be met.
