funny, it really hard to find a shop with a good reputation, because theres so many technicians out there that dont wanna work. lets put it THIS way: if you research any auto shop and its full of postive comments and you know for a fact that those ppl arent worth a shit than the ppl putting those comments on there are probably employees that work there.
I work at an "instant oil change" place and ive been telling my managers that certain services such as engine flushes and a "fuel system cleaning" among other things do more harm than good and can void warranties and most things we do don't really make any sense. The "2/3 step fuel system cleaning" supposedly cleans your injectors through a vaccum line.last time I checked the vacuume lines and fuel lines dont mix. But unless I try to sell it I get written up(which has happened several times)
EZ-Lube and Jiffy Lube are such great companies... The government should give them 100 billion incentive dollars so they can keep on serving us with their 5 star quality service !
Jiffy lube broke my oil pan during their joke of an oil change yesterday and is doing their best to lie their way out of it. the mechanic thinks they may have damaged our engine during the 'engine flush'. We drove the car from jiffy lube to a mechanic after jiffy lube said we had an oil leak which we did not have before we went there. the mechanic said the oil leak was caused by jiffy lube over tightening the bolt on the pan. now the car is at my dealer who says the same thing.
your friends and family are stupid. never just trust other peoples opinion. iv seen so many people trust smaller shops that screw them over. over and over again
I wonder why it doesn't say when your supposed to add gas to your car? i wounder why the car manufacturing dealerships offer the same services. if people go to a place where the mechanics advertise an oil change and then tell customers their engines need more work, this is what's known as "bait and switch". as i under stand it, "bait and switch" is a con, AND illegal. and if they fail to do the work they claim they will, this should fall under some kind of bad business practices law or some thing. i would recommend people check the law books about this kind of thing.

My mom, who is a widower, took her Infiniti into Jiffy Lube for an oil change and they sold her an "engine flush" which the next day, seized the engine. Too bad for them that they didn't know she had a son who was an attorney. Long story short, once they found out who they were now dealing with, they agreed to replace her engine and to provide her with a rental car while the work was being performed at a shop of her choosing. Jiffy Lube picks on women & young people whom they deem to be gullible
I worked for this company for over 9 years I started as a tech in a shop and was promoted to a field trainer for 6 of those years and believe me this is not an isolated incident. You would be amazed at how many times this happened because employees are more worried about sales and money then doing the basics like they should be doing. Leaving this company was the best thing I ever did.
' A Fish Rots from the Head Down ' This was no accident !!!! Now you do this .... why did you not catch it yourself ? time upon time again ... year after year you scam just a big fraud !
You would not have to do all that training, checking and auditing if you were just trustworthy and honorable in the first place from the top down in your company ! How that working out for you ?
@lsxlbahamut the way i see it since they have quotas to keep up with just to keep their jobs. im not defending it but those low rank workers are in a lose lose situation.
@jRunlimited89 LOL? I do it in regular intervals on my cars. How hard is it? Warm up the engine. then just to remove the drain plug and drain the oil. Then remove the oil filter. wipe clean. on with a little oil on the seal on the new oil filter. Tighten moderately hard. Insert the oil plug and fill with the specified volume of oil and of the same kind of oil. Then start the car and the oil light should be extinguished within seconds. It only takes about 30 minutes of work on most cars.
kwik car is lust as bad. I had my oil changed just before a cross country trip. 1500 miles later I popped the hood to top off wiper fluid and the oil cap was missing. They never put it back on. I found the cap embedded upside down in the hood insulation. They had set it down on the engine block, never replaced it and when they put the hood down it embeded in it. If it wasn't for chrysler putting an oil splash guard internally, I dont know what would have happened. They denied it despite pictures
@foozybearz I know what your saying. My grandfather once had to go do something for his car where it involved taking the hub caps off of his tires. When he was driving home he heard a screeching noise, the fuckers never screwed the hubcaps all the way back on. One actually fell off, but it fell nearby so he took it went home and did it himself
Seriously people go online and learn how to change your own oil. Takes 20 mins, you get better oil, costs less and lets you crawl around under your car. Win winwinwinwin well for me anyways hah
there is also the scam where they do the work that you pay for BUT YOU DIDNT NEED THE WORK TO BE DONE IN THE FIRST PLACE! they replace a battery that only needs to be rechaged or they replace a fuel pump and there was nothing wrong with the pump. They give a list of crap that needs to be done to fix your car and 2 things out of the 7 things listed are all you need. why are there no fines for this scamming?
There are scammers right on your own doorstep! I was scammed by a company called FORINKANDMORE from San Marcos, Texas. They advertise continuous ink systems for your printer. Your credit card will be charged but you will NOT RECEIVE ANYTHING. I am not the only one duped by this SCAM. Whats more they have instruction vidoes right here on youtube! Warn others before they too are duped! Thanks
this is the type of motherfucker who doesnt do any P.M's on his car and starts crying when you hand him a bill for 3-4 grand cause his Timing belt failed or he spun a main bearing he says "dont do anything that is not in the manual" ok what is honda, toyota,,GM, Ford in the business of???? they are selling you cars.."lubed for life transmissions" cmon everything has a failing point and by doing PM you can extend the life transmissions or engines.
@mejia1911 Timing belt? what P.M can you do besides replace it? and if you change the oil in your car like you should THAT IS PM, you dont need to flush it. And how do you spin a bearing if you change your oil every 3000? oh you need to flush it to? what a load of crap. Also changing your transmission fluid is in the car manual. he didnt say dont do it, he is saying to follow the manual. No one said "lubed for life transmissions". I got 218k miles on my grand am by FOLLOWING THE MANUAL (aka P.M)
@mejia1911 great point I think if you cant do the servicing yourself you should be finding a shop that is trusted and has a good rep to do the work for you. Just following the list in the owners manual will never work out. And the lubed for life trannys are stupid. Thats ridiculious unless you plan on only ever leasing a vehicle for a 3 year term at most.
Nice to see people that chew on their cudds get soaked..Minimum wage monkeys are tearing there wheels apart.. Stick it to these dummies Jiffy.A person needs to know the nuts and bolts of the car industry. That fag reporter has knowledge on nuts but nothing else. Jiffy is the McDonald's of Mechanics.
The ones in Spokane allow me to watch their work....they give me free top offs..and they saved my mom when they found her radiator hose was leaking. Not a false repair because they did not charge her.
I do my own basic work 90% of the time..but have them look at my car once a year. They let me watch and ask questions.
Heck when I learned own my own to change my oil, they did not charge me for a washer I forgot to put on and topped it off no charge.
I say people should learn to do at least basic car maintenance themselves. I change my own oil, transmission fluid, power steering fluid, belts, pulleys pumps, brakes, etc... anything that does not require me taking apart my engine and transmission, i am comfortable doing myself. I am still in awe that there are people out there who don't even know how to change a tire or oil. It's ridiculous.
What is going on here I'm a manager at a shop and I do lots of transmission services and fuel injection services and engine flushes all the time and never had a problem with my custumers. Dealer wants your car to break down after 60kmiles so u will be buying a new one
hell just go to a lube shop and ask for a sythetic service oil chainge. they charge 2 TIMES the amount for a regular oil change even though the OIL is the only difference the oil itself is costs about 2 times as much as regular oil but they charge as though the service was twice as expensive
@UniteForgetLeftRight no not really if you look at YOUR invoice you would see wat your being charged its called UPCHARGE every place does that when you upgrade to nething
jiffy lube still doing the same shit, i took my car 15 days ago for oil change,i'd checked the transmission fluid at home ,once i got out of jiffy lube my transmission blow up, there was no oil..so fuck LIESFFY LUBE!!!
And I once dealt with Mr Lube here in Canada. Never again. 28 minutes for an oil change while the pimple faced kid tried to upsell me on everything including a battery that didn't need. I just wanted a basic oil change and that wasn't good enough. In the end I guess they were mad so they didn't put the oil filter on tight. Took a couple of weeks and I was leaking oil like crazy. Wrecked my garage floor and took the thing to a mechanic. NO MR LUBE.
